I'm still kinda new. I have no gear from any tempered monsters yet. I haven't even had a streamstone drop for augments yet. I don't know if I'm the chicken or I'm the egg in this scenario, but I feel screwed either way. Would trying to do a makeshift cluster bomb build with what little I have be a good method for breaking out of it?
Well the game has been out for a year, so most of the videos now expect you have the high tier armor sets. The easiest way to get literally one of the best 3 armor sets in the game (probably THEE best) is to use the plunder blade Palico item and steal parts off of the Behemoth. Then return from quest and you get to keep everything you stole. Now you can't steal the claws, tails, or horn but the horns and tails are actually fairly easy to get as well if t=you break the respective piece off of him before you leave the quest. Claws are harder to get but you only need 2 or 3 for the whole set and can join someone's game and get help finishing him and breaking them off. For all the other sets High rank and tempered monsters have the same armor sets, so fight the regular high rank elder dragons to get their sets before attempting the AT elders that are much more difficult but have the newer armor sets. Like I said the set you get from Behemoth is better than pretty much anything else in the game anyway.
Also the Kulve raid is a great way to get good weapons and alright armor even if you aren't great just build a set for fire resist and even if you lose the quest itself because several groups are running it whenever one of the other groups finishes you'll get the rewards.
I would not call your method the "easiest", because I need to farm other AT monsters first to get the gamma armor from the build you used in this guide.
I have guard up, level 5 iron wall and running Lance and I cant still block his dive bomb (I still took a tons of dmg), why is that? Look at how you block it with so liitle HP loss is very confusing to me.
with lance you should have a powered-up block ability though, which HEAVILY reduces the damage you take for short-term increased stamina consumption. The dive bomb just barely tickles you with it
It's kinda nice that the gap between the Console and PC AT Nerg release is much shorter than it was for the Witcher Crossover or even AT KT and AT Luna. It's only about a month which is nice. I've been so desperately wanting the Chest and Legs from that set xD Little salty that PC isn't gonna get the SF5 crossover gear but whatever, we still get AT Nerg!
Not to be disrespectful because you know what you are doing but is there any decent strategy that doesn't involve going full Michael Bay on the monster?
If you want to cluster you can just use regular xeno parts. The set won't be as good but it will still serve the same purpose. Here's a set you can make if you don't have any AT gear and assuming you have terrible charms. You can swap things if you have better gear. Weapon: dark devourer Head: xeno b (flawless jwl2) Chest: rath soul b (flawless jwl2) Arms: xeno b (flawless jwl 2) Waist: xeno b (vitality jwl x2) Legs: Kirin b (vitality jwl, attack jwl) Charm: attack lv 3 Skills: Free elem/ammo up lv3 Attack boost lv4 Spare shot/razor sharp Peak performance lv3 Health boost lv3 Blight resistance lv2 Flinch free lv2
Make sure that is the blueprint one and not the choosing the ammo. If you have the correct one which has a green thingy that you can see in the ammo and you still can’t craft well, it may be because you have the release the button instead of the other one. To check/understand what I said go to. System: options: controls: radial menu settings and put it in type 2 instead of 1
It works with ranged but only the first hit counts. Considering dps is built up with several weak attks instead of few powerful ones, that makes regen a poor choice for ranged on most cases
Honestly you can even more easily cheese Nergigante than anything else. He has absolutely 0 elemental damage so you can just cheese him with fortify, and take defense boost 7, a defense up XL HH and take coral orchestra for the palico. You'll easily reach 900+ defense with that making you pretty much unkillable at that point. But honestly what I'm really glad of is that we are back to having 50 minutes as time limit. I still hate Capcom for giving Xeno only 30 minutes, making it impossible for me to do it in group due to lack of damage from most other players not having the right jewels yet etc. Because AT Xeno was so fun I'd have loved to fight him in multiplayer!
that's cool and all but how in the seven seas are you not taking damage from most of his attacks? like that instant jump did no damage to you whatsoever, dive bomb barely scratches you and so does everything really. if that were the case noramally i doubt there would be people struggling with the guy at the first place
1. have the shield mod 2. If u have the stamina & ur facing the boss, u'll guard automatically 3. a few attacks need guard up to be blocked 4. guard skill can help u with stamina depletion 5. have fun!!!
Question about KO damage : does it scale like sleep damage or paralysis, making it harder and harder to KO a monster or is always the same amount. It seems to me that you can usually put a monster to sleep about two times but KO him more times, so I wonder ?
the KO knocked him out before the dive bomb...what kind of OP armor is that? Despite bow guns melee weakness, you are confident you can take that. I dont know how you can guard that dive bomb, the one where he unleashes all his spikes, I block w a great sword , it counds two hits and eats all my stamina, the third, from the spikes, always damages.

I cant beat him. Literally i do just find, but once he gets the death icon above his head he doesnt die. He gets really hard to fight. I only had 1 life left and I he only attacked me. I should have killed him 4 times, but just cant kill him in the end.
Only problem I have with builds like these, is that I need other AT armor pieces. Hate that I could be so close to finding a good way to beat AT Nergigante but can't do it because I don't have the armor for it
@TheGameconomist Just fyi, Temporal mantle does not activate on passive and small attacks, it has always been this way. Little jab attacks from any monster, including Elders or any large monster will still be able to do damage to you no matter what, so long as their using attacks that would otherwise just flinch you or do little damage. So when Nerg is doing double jab at you, it'll still affect you. The obvious benefit from all this is Nergigante being AT, the small attacks can be a significant adversity for hunters, thus we gotta watch out no matter what.
@@0hGoodGrief I'm not trying to be rude, just informative, but he mentioned that he got hit by a light attack, he did not explain. Evade window 5 is your friend, mate! Slap some luna Y waist and charm, and luna B head for extra distance and stamina up bonus and you're good to go. With just 2 pieces + charm, you already got Evasion 5, Extender 2, Health boost 2 and 3 free slots. You can mix and match the rest of 3 pieces to go for additional DPS or more survivability. @@Enderman49 Then yes, I beat him using Switch Axe without taking any deaths in one of my runs. Having some Evade Extender and Evade Window really helps if you are wanting to solo him and not use cheap strategies like cluster bombing (not hating, even he says it's pretty cheap)

It's kinda nice that the gap between the Console and PC AT Nerg release is much shorter than it was for the Witcher Crossover or even AT KT and AT Luna. It's only about a month which is nice. I've been so desperately wanting the Chest and Legs from that set xD
Little salty that PC isn't gonna get the SF5 crossover gear but whatever, we still get AT Nerg!
Not to be disrespectful because you know what you are doing but is there any decent strategy that doesn't involve going full Michael Bay on the monster?
i like using my greatsword build
Wide/Long GL also works, stil *technically* going michael bay though.
6:00 HOW DAFUQ ARE THERE MULTIPLE ELDER DRAGONS?!?!
Probably one of my top 3 favorite monsters :).
Thanks for the guide, I have yet to beat AT xeno so I don't have the gamma xeno parts. Are there alternatives?
If you want to cluster you can just use regular xeno parts. The set won't be as good but it will still serve the same purpose. Here's a set you can make if you don't have any AT gear and assuming you have terrible charms. You can swap things if you have better gear.
Weapon: dark devourer
Head: xeno b (flawless jwl2)
Chest: rath soul b (flawless jwl2)
Arms: xeno b (flawless jwl 2)
Waist: xeno b (vitality jwl x2)
Legs: Kirin b (vitality jwl, attack jwl)
Charm: attack lv 3
Skills:
Free elem/ammo up lv3
Attack boost lv4
Spare shot/razor sharp
Peak performance lv3
Health boost lv3
Blight resistance lv2
Flinch free lv2
@@EVM95 Thanks coincidentally just beat AT xeno once using the LBG build gameconmist provided on his other video.
@@EVM95 thanks. I will try this.
1 thing grinds my gears is when we do so well and make it to the last stage someone dies them everybody leaves instead of re trying
I know that pain.
How do you use the vigorwasp without holstering? Looks like you buttstroked it. Is that a thing?
I got this all down, but for some reason when I try to craft clusters, it won't let me. Any advice?
Make sure that is the blueprint one and not the choosing the ammo. If you have the correct one which has a green thingy that you can see in the ammo and you still can’t craft well, it may be because you have the release the button instead of the other one.
To check/understand what I said go to. System: options: controls: radial menu settings and put it in type 2 instead of 1
How many sleep shots should you fire when you build up sleep damage before you actually plan to put him to sleep?

Hello, arch tempered nergigante.
it's time to blow you up! :3
OwO
What augmentation did you run with ?
he mostly uses health regen
@@dimorial Does health regen even work with ranged weapons?
Yup, i usually use 2 health regen
It works with ranged but only the first hit counts. Considering dps is built up with several weak attks instead of few powerful ones, that makes regen a poor choice for ranged on most cases
@@Walamonga1313 with a hbg it's pretty decent. just watch some speedruns or guides and you might get a feeling if it does for you.
Damn...I suck using clusters 😫😫😫😫
Marty Since87 thank you
Thank you Gamconomist i took your advice and took the cheesey route,i waited 4ever for that temperal mantle to recharge but idc i beat him 🖒💪😁
Lmao
I might have to do that same thing.
Does fortify dissapear if let’s say I switch back to my mushroom set to rebuff myself?
This the cheese that broke Nergigante's back
What are the augmentations on your HBG?
Quick noob question: How do you guard? 😁
1. have the shield mod
2. If u have the stamina & ur facing the boss, u'll guard automatically
3. a few attacks need guard up to be blocked
4. guard skill can help u with stamina depletion
5. have fun!!!
Question about KO damage : does it scale like sleep damage or paralysis, making it harder and harder to KO a monster or is always the same amount. It seems to me that you can usually put a monster to sleep about two times but KO him more times, so I wonder ?
It scales, usually twice as hard the second time i believe
Tom Savage thanks :)
the KO knocked him out before the dive bomb...what kind of OP armor is that? Despite bow guns melee weakness, you are confident you can take that. I dont know how you can guard that dive bomb, the one where he unleashes all his spikes, I block w a great sword , it counds two hits and eats all my stamina, the third, from the spikes, always damages.
How do i get this quest ?
I can't see it anywhere. I am HR 85 is that to low or what ? Havent played MHW in a while and completely missed the arch tempered monsters getting introduced ...

I've been waitng for this. I need 5 tickets more. 😂
@Shasvin Puvanesvaran I got 5 now. Solo it with glutton. I don't like ryu layer so gonna skip it 😂
You can actually do it with 4 people, just cluster the wing closest to the ground and leave everyone else the legs, head and tail. I've done it with 3 randoms and with also with friends
Yea I already used this as soon as i found out how tough this monster was Lol! Great Cluster set!
AT Nergi is my favorite monster to fight
Such a great fight.
Walamonga 1313 I agree, especially with the long sword. I also like how the fight has its own theme, it really makes the fight badass
Thank you for this strategy. I was able to get all 5 armor set Jesus took awhile but got it done. I don’t have the exact build you have but I used the Ciri armor and made it a similar build.
how do you fast charge the heavy bowgun i cant charge it fast like you im on ps4 thanks for the answer
With the jumping attack. On xbox its Y. Its the same button, you draw your weapon.
Does AT Nerg have more health? Because i'm CERTAIN he goes into his "last stand" state earlier than before and hunts last way longer even if you avoid damage.
Vengeant Fate Both that final rage mode triggers earlier (IIRC at 65% health instead of 35%) AND he has waaaay more health than usual
26,000 hp to be exact.... T_T
Why not put him to sleep right at the start before you aggro him? He starts out exactly underneath one of the boulders.
I know it’s considered easy but every time I try using cluster bombs or hbg in general I just die to everything. I just can’t
Better title for this quest:
Appetite for Destruction
Such a missed opportunity.
That sounds like a Deviljho quest.
what about if I'm a great sword main and I don't have either the rocksteady or the temporal mantles then what's you recommend
Then that's means you aren't ready
7-Jake nah i can beat him but it takes like 40ish minutes ill get the 10 minute warning and sometimes even the 5min warning but a win is a win i just wanna do it faster but i dont realy do the side quest to get those mantles i mainly do events and investigations
@@masternate2993 I highly recommend temporal mantel, it's is the best mantel on the game and it's extremely useful, I'm gs main two iand I can beat him under 30 minutes, just cause of the mantles honestly
7-Jake I don't like all the force dodges though what I would like is for the vitality mantle to just have more life depending on the hunter rank or something like why is my mantle only negating half a hit from arch tempered nergigante when it can't last the dive bomb and a few extra against tempered nergigante like why is the life going down on weaker monsters noone needs to negate weak monster attacks we need the mantle for stronger monsters
I cant beat him. Literally i do just find, but once he gets the death icon above his head he doesnt die. He gets really hard to fight. I only had 1 life left and I he only attacked me. I'm using cb it works well, it's not optimized for damage, but for survival. I dont have problems with dive bomb. But the stupid superman claw attack killed me even tho I rolled out the way. I should have killed him 4 times, but just cant kill him in the end.
Can I keep everything the same and use tarroth assault support?
I just beat it today a few times. Definitely my top 3 hardest monster just third of tempered behemoth second only to Ancient Leshen
I guess it's like in all MH Games.. Just use a perfect Lance Build or Evade Build and you should come through..
Know any alternative armor sets, i did not do the other at elders. Plz
It doesn’t work for me
I use the glaive and the Ls a y pointers there? or builds?
Any reason for the special ammo boost level 2 over another point in Guard?
you can remove guard up for an additional shield wall too. Nergi doesn't have an unblockable attack.
Safest easiest is always gun lance charge shot. Stay in corner with stamina surge and fire. He ultimate you block then fire back with yours.
I soloed him with my main weapon lance first then I just adopted the HBG cheese for the rest of the loot prints.
@Shasvin Puvanesvaran 5 times enough to get 7 craft loot. Once with lance, once with LBG for sleep bomb cheese, and five with HBG cluster cheese.
Only problem I have with builds like these, is that I need other AT armor pieces. Hate that I could be so close to finding a good way to beat AT Nergigante but can't do it because I don't have the armor for it
why a trueshot in your build if you don't use your special ammo ? Could put a 3rd ironwall instead in your build.
He mentioned that briefly in the video, near the start of the fight
@@0hGoodGrief I'm not trying to be rude, just informative, but he mentioned that he got hit by a light attack, he did not explain. However, I did watch one of his live streams and he was wondering why he was getting hit by light attacks, which is what I more so 'reminding' him of how the Temporal has always worked. Good job to the content creator none the less.
I'm trying with IG, i do a good fight in general but 1 mistake its a hit kill like the tail attack and the New faster head attack is rly hard to perceive and dodge...i had many tries already and almost kill him but that one attack Just comes through 😪
Evade window 5 is your friend, mate! I personally go for 4 pcs of Luna for the mind's eye to bypass the annoying black spikes. Without going for max dps, it'll take around 15 minutes to beat him

@@Enderman49 Then yes, I beat him using Switch Axe without taking any deaths in one of my runs. Having some Evade Extender and Evade Window really helps if you are wanting to solo him and not use cheap strategies like cluster bombing (not hating, even he says it's pretty cheap)

Someone please make a bow guide to this fight. I'm best with bow and I'm really just confused as to which skills to prioritize. I also don't have the good kulve weapons (I can never get the thunder or ice bow I wanted) so a bow guide without the kulve weapons would be amazing
Why do you have on the special ammo boost?
1:44 that really bothers me about Temporal mantle like why some attacks still hit you.
It only auto dodges attacks with large knockbacks.
