Your content is terrific. You can really learn a lot about ATC and the complexities of operations at and near airports by listening to you. You really know your stuff!
Hey Peter, as an experienced private pilot with about 30 years of PIC I find your videos incredibly informative, professional, and fun. They are the finest aviation blogs on TH-cam. I'm so glad I just discovered you!
Aviation, as Peter so clearly has pointed out, is indeed a team effort. Latent for the passengers, but there are so many instructions, exchanges and updates going on between the ground control and the cockpit. It is no cakewalk to manage the complicated airspace configurations around New York City. Peter's uncanny and brilliant narration and elucidation underscores that flying those big birds is not a trivial task !
when you were over joint base Mcquire's that smoke was from a large brush fire and same for when you took off all the smoke from the other fires in north jersey. love the video
So very cool they changed it to runway 31. I literally saw the neighborhood I grew up in. The armory just south of the Bronx reservoir. I grew up on kingsbridge. And I also saw Tracey towers on Jerome ave and east of that mosholu pkwy in the Bronx where my parents still live. Thank you for this awesome video. Your videos are always awesome.
This was a very informative and interesting post. By the way, I thought the music at the end was great. You can’t go wrong with the William Tell Overture.
The William Tell Overture music during the lnding reminds me of one the earliest vhs videos i bought back in the 90’s, 747 A Pilot’s Eye View. Anybody else seen that?
Great video, Peter! Is that “angle” turn from base to final unique to PBI? I live by FLL and they seem to often do a 90 turn from base to final approach.
LGA TSA security is a dream compared to before. It has to be a model for the rest of the country…I can’t say enough good things about the new LGA. It rocks
I liked the TSA in the old terminals better since there were multiple entry points leading to less crowding. In addition, the old terminals used the old fashioned X-Ray Machines where you place your luggage on a belt rather than a bin. It was quicker.
Your videos 📹 are great. I enjoy watching? Quick question: How can you find out which runway is being used for a trip before you get to the airport? I'm familiar with the runways at LGA.
It’s not easy to manage air traffic control in the NYC area because it’s very crowded and the controllers must insure traffic does not interfere with nearby airports since JFK and Newark are nearby. Also, Palm Beach Gardens in Florida is a beautiful place.
Peter, You’re correct. Delta Flight Attendants overall have gone downhill since COVID-19. When Delta Airlines had a mass exodus via “early outs” and retirements, the quality of the flight attendants have waned. They’re almost always sitting in their jump seat surfing the web on their phone. Heaven forbid someone requests a liquid refreshment.
Newark liberty international airport is too far from my point of origin. Also, I am trying to gain million miler status on Delta and they do not have nonstop service to my most common destination from Newark.
Dude, if you’re not already a pilot, you should consider it. I spent the first 30-some-odd years of my life as an aviation nerd…got a few random scattered hours in pipers here and there but never really committed. My time/money situation never lined up…until it did. By that point, I was such an unimaginable aviation geek, it only took me 3 months from walking into the flight school to my checkride. Becoming a pilot really changes your connection to aviation. Now, whenever the mood strikes (and the weather is acceptable, obviously) I go puttering around the coast, flying into new airports, practicing my maneuvers, shooting various GPS approaches, whatever…hell, if the winds are heavy enough high up, I’ll go up there and see if I can “fly backwards” in slow flight. Again, it forever alters your relationship with airplanes and aviation.
Very nice! I tried it a few times and did not find that it was something I wanted to continue. Watch my video on why I am not an air traffic controller.
Thanks so much for the feedback! The reason why I talk fast is because I try to get everything in between aircraft control transmissions in real time. Even so there’s still lots of information that I’m not providing that I want to say. in this particular video I did not provide aircraft sounds because of screaming children in the background.

I appreciate that!
WOW, my brain hurts from the first several minutes and all those departures. I can't imagine the controllers taking care of all that! Bravo to them!!
It sure is a lot of work!

Thanks for the info + video!
You bet!
Are you kidding me LOL..that is insane....I can't imagine it being any more chaotic.....you are doing great work ..we appreciate you
Thanks for watching!
Lots of great views in this video, Peter. Worth giving up the Manhattan view; it was great seeing the operation over Newark airport.
Yes! Thanks for watching!
Dover AFB was one of many east coast airports in case the space shuttle had to abort in certain situations
Cool!
when you were over joint base Mcquire's that smoke was from a large brush fire and same for when you took off all the smoke from the other fires in north jersey. love the video
Ah! Thanks for watching!
Another great and educational video
Thanks again!
I really enjoyed this Peter, very nice. Great choice of music too.
Many thanks!
This was uploaded on my birthday
Happy Birthday!

Thanks so much!
Peter are you taping live ATC while you are on the flight or do you do it once you get home
I record it after the flight.
This was informative Peter.
Thanks!
This was a very informative and interesting post. By the way, I thought the music at the end was great. You can’t go wrong with the William Tell Overture.
I love it and it works for everything! Thanks!
Great video ✈️
Thanks a lot!

I loved that video! I watched it all the time!
Great video, Peter! Is that “angle” turn from base to final unique to PBI? I live by FLL and they seem to often do a 90 turn from base to final approach.
I have seen that angle at all airports I have flown into. I'm not familiar with the 90 degree turn.
Hey Pete welcome back to NYC
Thanks but I'm leaving NYC in this video!

Wow that airport traffic is worse than the BQE, ccrossbronx LIE , the belt, and van wick ,grand central parkway combined....LOL
The day this was filmed was one of the more efficient days!

I check the forecast to see what runways would work for headwinds.
Hello. Peter. James. S from. Columbus. Ohio. I like your video and just got done watching. Pushing. Tin movie.
Thanks for watching!
Another great video! Also after the pavement work is done by where the old terminal was demolished will all construction be done at LaGuardia?
Thanks! I think so!
EWR seemed so far from departure but then I saw the North loop you flew.
Thanks for watching!

So true!
Do you collect model planes? I just started. I can’t believe the looks and authenticity of each plane. I collect 1:200
Nice! I do not.

I just had a flight attendant announce the wrong city on a different airline!

❤️❤️❤️❤️
Why don't you ever fly from EWR?
Newark liberty international airport is too far from my point of origin. Also, I am trying to gain million miler status on Delta and they do not have nonstop service to my most common destination from Newark.
I can see my house in Lyndhurst
Cool!

LGA UPDATE WHENNNNN
Not sure - the terminal is pretty much complete.
You will be back. Lol
Yes!
Talk way to fast
Rather not hear music when landing as I’d rather hear the plane landing
