    when the verdict came in, I was working in a level 5 school with children who had disabilities. Most of the staff were black. I learned the verdict had come in when an uproarious celebration happened throughout the whole school. I asked what happened and was told. I stood motionless, in shock, for I don't know how long. The defense used the race card and boy did it work. I was sickened.

      When Mark Furman was used as a witness they played those tapes proving he was a racist. They also had people testify against him. Then it was brought up how Furman could have planted evidence, then I thought to myself maybe Furman did plant that evidence. I believe OJ committed murder now. I believe Furman's racism helped set him free. I'm sure he (Furman) angered millions of Black Americans including those on that jury.

      @@sharonhill7363 they’re not disgusting, they were dealing with a different set of facts: namely a racist cop planted evidence, and many of them had heard similar things from close relatives and found it resonated with them. It made them feel like finally a black person got to use wealth and privilege just like all the white people do every day (they only notice the times it worked in a white guy’s favor. They’re used to seeing cops in grade school giving children a police record for things they know the white schools handle in house.
      It’s a different path they arrived to the trial, not a different set of morals (you can find hatred and evil in every color).

      @TouchofShunshine 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      This comment proves that you weren't paying close attention to the trial. For example, the police took pictures of the gate at Nicole's home on the day of the murder. No blood was shown on that gate in the first photos that the police took. But a month later in the second picture, fresh blood was clearly in sight. O.J. was in jail at the time, so he could not have gone back within that month to put it there. What do you think that it takes time for blood to appear? At the same time, some of O.J's blood that the police took is missing. Another, example of bloody socks was found in O.J's bedroom. A round drop of blood-soaked from the bottom to the top. Someone please put on some socks and step in blood or any liquid and report how the stain will behave. Your foot is in between the top layer and the bottom layer, the stain will not perfectly soak through the foot to the top of the sock. I am not saying that Simpson didn't do it, only he and God knows. But if the police plant some evidence it discredits all evidence. The police messed up the prosecution's case. If it wasn't for the blatant planting of some evidence, Simpson might be in prison right now for murder.

    Then we went to a dress shop in a nearby mall.

I get why the jury would think that way. I might have as well if I were them. But, let's not kid ourselves. Haha. Loved the rhymes as well as your thorough analysis of the crime. It was a sad time. For people who weren't around then, the entire country waited for the verdict to be read on live TV. After it was read, news teams across the country showed people's reactions. Reactions pro and con were based almost 100% on the race of the person questioned. OJ, however, had already told people (prior to that) that he didn't see himself in terms of race. He was a rich celebrity and former football star, and that was it. White corporate media (movie makers, advertisers, loved him). The jury acted like they were helping a brother. He/ his lawyers used them. People who were mad at the outcome resigned themselves to being glad OJ was deprived of his major reason for living....to be adored (he became toxic to people in the movie, advertising business).

    Years ago I met OJ Simpson's first wife (I guess she was his first wife) through friends with whom I had worked in the film business (they were the actor Zalman King and his wife the artist Patricia Knop). Zal was filming in Tel Aviv where he and Pat were joined by Simpson's wife who had come over to Israel from Rome where she was staying at the Hilton hotel and where Simpson had left her. He had also ordered her to remain at the hotel, not go sightseeing, not become friendly with anyone and not to stray from the hotel grounds. She, however, had gotten bored and hopped on a plane to join her friends Pat and Zal. However, once arrived she became panic stricken and could talk only of what would happen if he were to find out she had disobeyed him. She worked herself up into hysteria that day we were all together and was shaking so hard it was difficult to even understand what she was saying. The upshot was that she turned around and got the first plane back to Rome, utterly petrified of what he would do to her for her disobeyance. And that sort of shows the type of person he was doesn't it?
