Dinky restoration Fiat Abarth 2000 No. 202. Toy diecast model.

Fiat Abarth 2000 was produced by the Meccano company in the years 1971 - 1974. It is a concept vehicle that was quite popular among children due to its futuristic form. I got my copy from a Krakow collector. The toy was quite worn out. In the video, you can turn on subtitles in your language with a commentary on the action. The windshield was deformed, while the windows and covers in the engine cover were missing altogether. I repaired and supplemented all these elements, I also replaced the axles of the model, because the front one was strongly bent and the rear one was obliterated. I also added a plastic exhaust to the engine and chrome-plated all the elements with silver liquid. I had a little trouble determining the exact color of this model, because it was slightly fluorescent. In the end, by mixing the two shades shown in the video, I was able to match the same color perfectly. To complete the whole thing, I made a box from the first years of production of this model. The model itself is unknown to me, but the restoration is first class. The "glass cover" of the engine turned out great. And the self-made decals are the icing on the cake 😉

I’m not a fan of wedge shaped cars (in real life) and this one in particular. I think there was only the one, a concept car, built? Looks like a door stopper and sounds like an old motorbike. Went like a rocket though......🙄🤷‍♂️

Lovely recovery, Paul. That backlight is vulnerable indeed and the model left you nothingbto work with. CD case plastic is very durable in model use.
