I run an Exeggutor EX + Greninja deck with new Exeggcute, and new Exeggutor actually has a place as a one-off to hit for higher damage numbers that the deck is otherwise incapable of. Exeggutor EX + Erika does a good enough job of tanking in the active for new Exeggutor to build up the energy to punish enemy ramp decks like Celebi and Mewtwo, and new Exeggcute can also sneak in an extra energy to help with the deck's already not-so-conflicting energy requirements of Grass + Water. I'd probably still just put new Exeggutor at C at best though, and I won't really argue against a D tier placement either way. You *completely* misread the new Raichu; it does 60 to enemy active and 20 spread to their bench. 20 spread alone isn't really that impactful for Pika decks though; you want to spread 40 (aka attacking twice with new Raichu) to put things into better Pika range, but it's probably better to use old Raichu for the extreme burst damage to close out games instead of trying to set up future KOes, so I'd still agree to the B tier placement overall. New Primeape is actually goated; old Primeape becomes extremely clunky if it goes first since it needs promo Mankey to pre-damage itself, but new Primeape *excels* at going first and still has new Mankey as a backup plan if it ends up going second. The fact that new Primeape only demands one energy is also significant; every other relevant Fighting attacker needs at least two energy, so you only need to attach one energy to new Ape and it immediately stays online while the rest of your energy can be allocated to your backline, like Marshadow/Marowak EX/etc. This complements the "Fighting rushdown aggro" playstyle in that it keeps up tempo with more efficient energy attachments. Druddigon I would lowkey argue for S tier; a tank with no weakness and does chip damage *for free* is SOOOO good for any slower evolution-based decks. Greninja, Pidgeot, Melmetal, Dragonite, Alakazam, etc., all appreciate the godsend wall that tanks and chips in the active while you set up the backline for an endgame finish.
Appreciate the vid. Only thing I would quibble about is the dhelmise. You mentioned its like Lapras but without misty support. That's not entirely true. It has serperior. With serp it only needs two energy to fire off 90. That's a pretty solid wall. A celebi for comparison with two energy and serp averages 100. Plus you can use Erika on dhelmise meaning it lasts longer than a Lapras would. I would personally put it at B but I could see it at C. Definitely not D though.
The non-meta decks I'm most interested in seeing are Druddigon/Bruxish and Golem/Primeape. Golem seems so strong if you get the right cards, basically a better Machamp EX if you draw Brock by the time you get Golem. And I love running fighting decks since it is very easy to get two strong lines with separate weaknesses to help ease the pain of bad matchups
Really enjoying the improvements on Blaine. I actually think the Rapidash is the big winner here, as playing Blaine, i often found myself with spare energy if i don't get a Vulpix right away, so this Rapidash is just straight advantage.
I also feel like they did Volcarona dirty. I was expecting it to have Fiery Dance and have an effect similar to Lilligant where it would allow you to attach energy. Would've been an awesome alternate to Moltres EX. Who knows, maybe they'll do a Volcarona EX with a Heat Wave attack that mirrors Articuno EX's Blizzard.
20:17 😅😅 my saleby did 500 damage so i can't say it's mew or mewtwo tear it's going to be on its own tear with Erika and postion pin me and remember when there is only saleby meta Btw 10 head and 2 tails is insane on mew two
Fo sho you opened my eyes to druddigon potential phill thanks. I ma run it in my dragonite deck as a tank while i build up dragonite so now i can have my pure dragon deck
Hi I'm a Blaine main. I think new Rapidash is C tier. It's too expensive to use alongside Ninetales at least the way I play Blaine, and it's worse than Ninetales and even if it wasn't then the deck would miss a 1 energy attacker. Old Rapidash is way better in Blaine decks. New Ponyta I'd say is A tier, definitely an improvement on old Ponyta but not so much that it's that noticable, you could do almost just as well with old Ponyta. It's not a game changer by any means.
I don't think you played these cards out enough at the time of your tier list. Some adjustments: Ponyta can be S tier. By the same measure, rapidash is more S tier.mind you, rapidash+ head+ Blaine one shots starmie and mew (and celebi).the chance of dealing 100 on 100hp on 2 energy is insane, almost better than Ninetales. Mew is ok, not meta defining. Thanks God I would add. Serperior IS meta defining. Celebi is A tier, not meta defining (it is enabled by snake). Gyarados ex is high A tier, almost close to meta defining (tanks Mewtwo, one shots it with Giovanni, one shots mew, celebi and the legendary birds) basically only suffers Charizard which is too slow to be meta. Vaporeon is meta defining. Vaporeon starmie Gyarados make a huge aggro into late game transition Pidgeot is a very solid A tier. High hp and potential to Ohko Mewtwo. Druddigon is ok but a tier at most. Primeape is actually very nice. It does what old marowak did (pressure for 1 energy) and let's you build marshadow, marowak ex and Aerodactyl in the bench because of the low energy requirements. Together with new Mankey they are a high pressure combo that is definitely A tier. They sadly play bad into psychic but that's about it. The scolipede line is a low A. For a tier 2 evolution you'd expect a bit more. Poke flute in A with Pidgeot ex in B is a little nonsense. I'd revert to say the least. Salandit is a decent anti-meta splash for wheezing decks but also is the definition of gimmicky. Joltik and his dad do not belong to A tier. Denney is the perfect addition for Pikachu decks. Golem is very very good, once you set it up. So yeah a low a tier is deserved
@@AndreaGalletti2991 I think we agree on most of the things I rated serperior high but I think it’s worse than Mew Mewtwo I put ponyta s because it basically counters celebi the 3-4th best deck and has odds vs Mewtwo while often beating pikachu
@@SimonPinchbeck I love gyrados but I don’t think it’s that good u have to play a 30/40 hp basic and put energy on it and that will always be a risk. I played a lot of gyrados on stream and a good percentage of the games I just lost because I opened poorly. Similar to how articuno can auto win if you run magikarp u can just auto lose and I wager because of that it will not have tournament success.
Watch the video all the way through for a surprise ! Also what decks do you want to see videos made on ? I had a lot of ideas in this video
raichu is doing 60 damage to oppo active mon and 20 to all the benched mon, not damage based on oppo bench
Serperior has great synergy with every single grass card, I think it's the best card in the expansion

Ive been running Druddigon in my Pidgeot EX deck with great success
great video [hil you've saved me hours of work and experimenting
I fw Sigilyph in mewtwo at 1. Its really hard to brick in mewtwo decks now with the slab as well
