UG and Ramana were both in the same state. UG got it much later than Ramana. If one reads both of them earnestly he will realise they both talk about the same thing, the absence or destruction of "I" without any practice or defined path. It both happened to them instantly. It reveals itself differently to different people in the light of their backgrounds.
Ramana fell back on the lingo. He needn't have done that. Of course, no one would ever know the name if he hadn't. ;-) It is great that for now we have all the video of UG barking. Of course one day the sun will expand and this ball will disappear as if it never had existed. Things tend to do that ;-)
