enlightenment or self realisarion is a spectrum of knowing not the end ultimate result as it is perceived. So there are many people who got enlightened since last several thousand years and everyone added his unique idea to the process of knowing..... and it wd keep on evolving with time ....

But there is no destination to this journey , because when you know everything still there is a lot left to know . Ug is saying there is no ultimate destination to be achieved in the process of knowing which is wisely said. This process of knowing is enlightenment , every step in ladder is enlightenment and there is no final step in ladder.

Hence the reasoning behind why he prefers to use the term 'calamity' over Enlightenment. To him, being enlightened isn't a big deal but more of something humanity has forgotten, due to all of the garbage that has been placed into our minds, which has blocked us from being what we are designed to be; Enlightened. So essentially it isn't a big deal. But people blab, yap and talk about it as if it is, when in actuality, it is not.
