I watch most of these Carter videos. The players are all amazing, but this guy Marcus King, he is on a level of his own. I don’t listen to his music or really know him so my opinion isn’t biased. The feel he has for the fretboard recalls some really powerful players and yet he has his own thing going. Bravo Marcus.
You need to start listening to him. Start with soul insight and work your way up towards his newer albums. You’ll see how versatile he really is. Also check out his ep.
Agreed. I'm not a huge fan of the Marcus King Band records, but everytime he or the band appear on this kind of videos they just rock. He is an amazing player and he's got a very unique and soulful voice.
Wow... Now we all know that Marcus has an amazing guitar that came through the family no less, but if anyone out there deserved a real burst, it would be him.
SO glad you got him in. I missed seeing him 3 different times this summer. Can't wait til he's back in CA to try again! You're definitely my favorite shop, I need a raise at work so I can give it to y'all, lol.
@@gracecase998 oh yeah. Someone sent me Billy’s EP in like 2018. He is the hometown hero here in Michigan. One of the only people keeping the traditional country music sound alive.
Honestly, a new Standard or RI will sound and play pretty much just as well or better. I can't believe the money people pay for these. Sure they sound great and are somewhat rare, but meh, i'd rather have a newer one if I'm actually playing it all the time. my '96 standard les paul and 2003 ES 335 are perfect. Especially through my hand wired 57 custom champ.
He looks as those he has tears rolling down his face! Most likely sweat but there is a moment towards the beginning the light hits his face and reflects the liquid rolling down his face/cheek. Check it out!!
Sounds fuzz-esque to me. Absolutely wicked tone. And I think it’s the dumble tweed they have. For only $125k! Bet that’s the cost of a nice house he’s playing through 😂
it's so annoying how much effort collectors are putting into conning people into thinking old guitars are magic. They aren't. There are plenty of modern les pauls that can outperform bursts.
I truly don’t understand the whole Les Paul thing. Apart from rock/metal they just sound awful. And there are far better guitars for those genres anyway. They’re stunningly gorgeous to look at, but they sound like something that would come from a Dollar General. I’ve played guitar for 25 years and 100s of these things have been in my hands. If you cut all the wires inside of them it’d be an immediate improvement. Make it make sense.
Who can afford these guitars?they're not made for the average player.COLLECTORS.MONEY.MONEY.MONEY.ASK ISBELL ABOUT HIS "RED EYE" @$650 THOUSAND...YEP.HE REALLY DID GIVE SOMEONE $650 THOUSAND DOLLARS ! WHO DOES THIS ?THIS IS TAKING ADVANTAGE OF SOMEONES OBSESSION. IN A VERY EXPENSIVE WAY.

Regarding his playing, he is well versed and educated
I think you should hear him sing too.... Great guitar player, singer and composer too
His new album is amazing🩵
I was watching a show on Norman's guitars and they did a TH-cam with him. I just looked him him up. Holly shi- I'm hooked
Wow...

This dude and Kingfish Christone Ingram are my two favorite guitar players that have recently been blowing up. So good.
I agree. Have you checked out Billy Strings? Watch him with Marcus on Summertime and Lonesome Fugitive cuts.

I love the imagination put into the names of guitars 🎸 especially in you tube titles. I’ve got a bathroom burst for sale and it reeks of tone-wood.
Fuzz amazing 😮😮😮😮
That’s the stuff right there
❤ To do such a great job covering this, you MUST be a big SKYNYRD FAN!...
What song is it?
At 1:05 you can see tears rolling down his eyes! This dude IS FEELING EVERY CORD MAN 🔥🔥 discovered this dude today and I’m hooked 🔥
Wow! What a treat, well done!
I must have seen this video over 30 times!!! Although it is only on the bridge pickup this play by Marcus is just amazing.
A real bad ass guitar player and singer
Great tone and feel
Very nice tone and playing
That was so beautiful, thank you
He is Awesome!!!
Great work! Good luck and good times on tour !
Sounds like SRV and Clapton. Nice. Can't wait to hear more
Love Marcus!
One of the greatest guitarists alive!
Just like all the greats in guitar's history you can recognize Marcus King from the first note that he plays. What an amazing player!
Don’t really care about half million dollar guitars, but that Tweed amp sounds fantastic.
You are very wise. The amp is where it’s at!
Now your talking some sense. They blow these guitars up to keep the price inflated…..but the true majik is in that tweed amp!

This is a great “neck” burst guitar. Great job gibson!
history of blues in less than 90 seconds!
Lather, rinse, repeat. He gets boring really quick.
MK is authentic to the bone. Please come to Australia.
He's listed as the "Special Guest" on Chris Stapleton's 2025 Tour of Oz in Feb
I LIKE TUNE, THE GUITAR RENDITION, NICE JOB
Killer player!
Hell yeah!
AHHH-MAZING!!! Fucking love your skills man 🎸🤘
Our hendrix my friends. Chops for fuckin days son. 🤯
Tem um link pra esse vídeo completo? Nao achei no TH-cam e em no Shazam.
$350,000 guitar played at the barn through cheap Peavey amp strapped with a rope!
Well that's a whole another level 😀
Right!? What a cool story
good feelin
I want that hat!
Those 60 models have such a heat seeking tone. Sounds so sick when you play some smeared licks like MK does here. Rich harmonics
The guitar is just an extension of himself. He’s a GOAT.
Fr I know he studied jazz for a while he definitely know what he’s doing
he for sure is not GOAT
@@iggygriva3622 “a goat” not the goat.
W0W!
❤
Nice
Outfuckingstanding
epic
But gj Marcus you rock.
Lawd have mercy button >>>>>>>>>
..that Paul should be given to him man, MK is fire 🔥 🔥 🔥
That would be quite the expensive gift! He really does make it sound spectacular though!
No.
...E para completar ao fundo fender blues jr.
Just picturing Marcus carrying that brown case to the car after this shoot was done. 😜😜
He was using the Jazz III picks for a long time... looks like he changed. Anyone know what he's using here?
Get out and see him live. He won't let nobody leave a show without a melted face.
what is the name of the song he is playing???
Yep, just as I thought. It sounds just like a Les Paul.
What fuzz is he using? Thats tasty!
What specific amp is he playing through?? I need it in my life!
What amp that is??
Sweeeeeeeeeet!
That is what a burst is supposed to sound like. Wish I could do that. lol
That is Early Cuyler from Squidbillies.
… before you all rush out and buy an old Gibson …. You’re probably NEVER gonna sound as good as Marcus , sorry guys , it’s a FACT 😂
I was gonna get a cool tattoo. That's the nearest I'll get.
What amp and pedals (if any) were used? Sounds great!
Sounds fuzz-esque to me. Absolutely wicked tone. And I think it’s the dumble tweed they have. For only $125k! Bet that’s the cost of a nice house he’s playing through 😂
😂😂@@PeterRomano
Straight in to a cranked Tweed Deluxe!
Did Bonamassa buy it?
I hope not.
is he using big muff?
audio guys, please add a room mic! Sounds great, but clausterphobic.
He switched for another guitar pick than jazz 3 ?
Ol Honey Hands himself
Let's hear both PUs blended and then the neck PU!
Kitten got growling

That was about the performance.
There are plenty of modern cars that outperform older cars….but there is something they lack.
Brother that’s makes 0 sense 😭😂
Tell that to Tom Bukovac
Electric guitars, maybe so. I’m not much on electric guitar. But acoustic guitars, you’re wrong.
that is one filthy fuzz!
What is being used?
@@redfrozenseven There are no pedals being used - straight into a fender tweed deluxe.
yo 😁
レスポール似合いすぎで草
while i like his 355 set up with amazing sound, this particular setup with his 60s gibson sounds too mudy for my taste. great player always.
But this is clearly due to the amp totally puking at its limits, and nothing to do with the guitar. A Lester will always sound more focused than a 335
That's a 59 with a 60 serial number
Marcus King was like a savant in his blues era. This southern rock era is talented but just ain't doing it for me.

I'm surprised he is hot on a skinny neck
That thing sounds so dirty…
$350,000🤣🤣🤣
This guy seriously struggles to find a hat that fits.
He from South Carolina, I live there, that’s how they where hats
not a fan of that tone
Horrible playing blues lol
