    Enjoy the radio turning on even though you didn't tell it to. Seems to be a default option for it when it gets confused. Great bit of kit though. To adjust volume, adjust it when each item is working. Adjust the phone volume when the phone is on a call, music when music is playing etc

      Sounds like you have the 'pre Bold' version like me.
      The voice command wasn't very good and what ever you say turns the radio on, which gets a bit frustrating as it takes a while to get to the point where it can be turned off.
      I had a quick Bold demo at this year's London Bike show, and found the Bold to be much better with voice commands. Interested to see how this goes.

    Unfortunately many helmet brands now use a dedicated com unit, like the current Shoei helmets (GT Air 2 and Neotec) and Schuberth (c4). I rather be free in deciding my com unit or not spending money on multiple com units. Sure you can use a sticky mount, but the clam doesn't fit anymore. Now I have to welcome Arai to the family...

    • @thelikeablerider8800
      @thelikeablerider8800  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah that's the reason I didn't get the GT air two, as it doesn't give you much room to mount the comms unit, either too far forward or back🤦‍♂️

    • @Eammim
      @Eammim 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I have that problem on my Neotec 2, because of the position of the flip joint and drop down sunvisor lever the Cardo ends up way back on the helmet.
      It's a shame as the Shoei is a neat install for Sena (I think) but the Cardo is a better comms device, certainly for bike to bike.

  • @scottyuk
    @scottyuk 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You referred a few times to "if you can't use the bracket". Why do you view the bracket as the default option and the sticker as the fallback? I've always done stickers as the preference and would only use the bracket if the surface wasn't suitable. The brackets add to the weight (marginally) but create more wind noise right next to your ear that just sticking it on. I also feel it's best to avoid shoving things between the layers of a helmet.
    This isn't a criticism. Just a genuine question as to why is the bracket is preferred?

    Have you been able to pair your cardo packtalk bold to your BMW TFT screen ?
    I ask as I have a 2021 S1000R and am considering getting either the Bold or the limited black edition please can you let me know your thoughts on the cardo thanks

      I haven't and probably won't tbh! My Garmin controls my music, and telephone calls etc so no real need to do it. If I would also connect to the bike, I'm sure it'll cause problems.

      @@thelikeablerider8800 thanks for your reply unlike you I do not use a Garmin as such if I am just connecting 2 sources to the Cardo - iPhone and s1000r LIKE YOU WITH YOUR PHONE AND GARMIN this should be ok. Thank you again. Just one more point to ask would you recommend spending the additional on a Black over a Bold version ?

      I neglected to ask as you are a sponsored individual by Cardo are you aware of any planned updates of the Cardo range - Packtalk etc. ? Please can you let me know thanks.

      Unfortunately I haven't used the Black edition, only the Bold which I'm very happy with. BMW will always try to sell you their own brand of comms units, that apparently work better with the connectivity dash. The Cardo will pair with it, but you won't necessarily get the same technical support. Yes I'm sponsored the units, and as yet I've not been informed of and update to the units you're asking about.

    Manuals in map style should be illegal. It means the manufacturer hates their customers and would like to pour manure on them. Otherwise nice video.

    My helmet doesnt have the hole to put the esrphones into. Ive place are the helmet but its pushing my my ear and temple which is not comfortable. And suggestions?

      @thelikeablerider8800  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's unfortunate! Yeah can he more difficult if your helmet doesn't accommodate them. Try a few other positions, they don't have to be positioned directly over your ears.

      TheLikeableRider will you recommend cutting a small hole in the styrofoam to fit the speakers?

    • @thelikeablerider8800
      @thelikeablerider8800  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No I wouldn't recommend cutting into the helmet! If you can't find a good placement for the speakers with your current helmet, then I would recommend upgrading your helmet tbh.

    I have the pac talk bold and a bmw navigation vi. I have connected my phone to channel 1 and the sat nav to channel 2 same as your vid. Is it ok to then pair the phone to the sat nav. This then shows up on the sat nav the number of the person calling or does this cause issues, only I noticed you didn’t connect your phone to your nav. Do you or anyone know thanks

      I only know from my previous experience with my Sena unit, I didn't pair my phone to the sat nav, sometimes had issues like you said. Be interested to see if it works with the Cardo. Also depends in the order you switch everything on I've found.

    I have it and it's shit imo. When you give it an order, like play music, or play radio, it NEVER understands you, and you have to fiddle with the buttons anyway. I recommend staying away from cardo.

  • @tonebonetones
    @tonebonetones 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Frankly, they can lose the radio. Total waste of time, and you've already mentioned yours comes on by itself lol. Bad mark against cardo for that. All you need is intercom and phone, although the new, ever stupid money raking, UK phone laws for driving have effectively made using even hands free systems illegal.
