    After countless videos and bs info you had the solution. I kept trying to connect through “universal device pairing”on the Sena and they wouldn’t sync. Phone pairing worked right away. Who would of thought. Thanks again!

      Another quick tip! Always make the call from the Sena to the Cardo. If you call from Cardo to Sena its constantly drops off. Do it this way you'll have a more reliable connection. Just something I found after making this video👍😜

  • @MichaelTrotman
    @MichaelTrotman 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    This works, but the connectivity is spotty between Cardo and Senna. I’ve found it works better to just make a cellular phone call and keep the line open for the ride. If you disconnect, just redial the number. It is a shame that mesh won’t work between units. Bluetooth intercom is just not good enough between riders.

    My riding partner and I got this to work only after trial and error with my Card and his Sena. If you asked either of us how we finally got it to work, neither of us would have been sure! I had to look this up. Thanks for the explanation of what exactly the functionality is. That really helps as opposed to the step by step "just do this..." method employed by the manufacturers. The Card instruction pamphlet that comes with the unit is absolutely NO help as it tells you nothing about using the phone pairing method versus universal method.

    PLEASE NOTE* to put the Cardo into Gateway Pairing, you first have to switch from DMC to Bluetooth mode. This opens a universal ability to pair the Packtalk Bold with other, non-Cardo units.

  • @garyhosler4930
    @garyhosler4930 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Great video, but if the Sena owner has already paired his phone (I assume phone channel 1), then wouldn't the process need to be changed such that we pair with the Sena unit on phone channel 2? So on the Sena, press and hold the jog button for ~6 seconds until the red/blue LED flashes rapidly, then within 2 seconds tap the phone button (once). You should hear “second mobile phone pairing”. I assume that this would still allow the Sena rider to make and receive phone calls on phone channel 1.

    Hi - great video.
    I ride with a bunch of guys that use Sena 30ks. I have successfully bridged an Interphone set into the Sena mesh but there is another guy with a Cardo Pactalk and I can’t get it to work. I’m not sure the method in your video will bridge the Cardo into the Sena mesh (if I hit the mesh button on the Sena) - I think if the Sena were the master in the Bluetooth pairing maybe?

  • @pierrekhaldoun

    Hi,
    Thanks for your review, nice trick.
    On a side note, if you have a mobile phone with Discord APP, you can create a Discord Chanel (let's say roadtrip #1), and then invite your mates into this Discord Chanel.
    Of course, it assumes that everyone in the group must have the app.
    Then you invite every riders in the Discord Chanel, they join, and that's it.
    Disclaimer: yes it will use data, yes it will use more cell phone battery, but most of us now have external battery.
    Did it and used it on several occasions, and it works well.
    Hope it helped.
    Best regards

    It has to be a joke that 2 large companies can't work together on the Mesh connections. It's actually stupid, in my mind. However, I think Cardo is the best bet, so far. Just the waterproof itself, is a no brainer. Second, the sound and voice commend.

    • @bryanthorne3474
      @bryanthorne3474 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cardo is all for it and has tried multiple times to cooperate with Sena but Sena is stonewalling it. They're the biggest company in the game and they basically want to force everyone into their system by making the integration process as painful as possible for us riders. A$$h0le capitalism at its finest.

      @@thelikeablerider8800 Thanks for responding. I did get the 2 connected Cardos to connect with the Sena Impulse. Primary Cardo has mesh connection to other Cardo and a bluetooth connection to the Sena. All 3 can talk now. From what I can tell, primary Cardo has to reach out to initiate the connection every time with the Sena even after the initial set up of the connection. And an initial set up did have to happen, I think. Hours of trial, error, and watching non applicable videos led to a lot of excitement when all 3 were connected.

    • @thelikeablerider8800
      @thelikeablerider8800  ปีที่แล้ว

      Once you get your head round it, it becomes easier. Only one Cardo unit has to be paired via Bluetooth to the Sena unit which you only need to do once. Always connect first to your other Cardo via mesh, once the call is live, make a Bluetooth call to the Sena, and he/she will be added to your existing mesh call. I do have other videos where I show how to connect multiple non cardo units👍

The two Cardo then need to make a Mesh call to each other, and while that call is live each individual Cardo makes a Bluetooth call to the Sena he's paired with, and everyone should he able to speak to one another.

      In theory it would work! You would need to prior pair to one of the Sena, and someone else the other. Create the Mesh call, you then call the Sena you're paired with, and then the second Sena, and they should be added. Do bare in mind that it's always works best to use the same units, it can get a bit complicated as people drop off the call.

      @@patrik9666 The easiest way to connect two different brand headsets is simply through phone calling each other. You won't lose connection either like you will over bluetooth OR DMC (Cardo) and Mesh Technology (SENA). For some reason Sena refuse to collaborate with Cardo despite numerous attempts from Cardo to develop a hybrid version of both mesh tech that will inmtergrat with one another. Pathetic if you ask me as there will still be the loyal Sena and Cardo customers will stay with each brand, a bit like the Samsung/Apple debate.

    • @tojj29
      @tojj29 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Cardos can have up to 15 in a group, all talking at the same time and sharing a mesh intercom "chat".
      You can bring a phone call into the mesh group and they can speak to everyone in the group.
      So Try this:
      Rider (1) with a passenger creates a mesh group and everyone joins as normal except obviously the Sena
      The rider (1) with the passenger, makes a phone call via his Cardo to his passenger with the Sena
      Once connected on a phone call, the rider (1) with the passenger presses the top intercom button on their Cardo and this will bring the Sena into the group chat via a phone call.
      We've done this and it works well until the Cardo and the Sena get too far apart. This should never happen as he's sat right behind the one who he's talking to on the phone
      Hope that makes sense. The only downside is most mobile phone carriers in the UK limit each call to an hour before they start charging outside of any bundles with inclusive minutes. So, you would need to stop/start a new call every hour
