Okay, so being from Monticello and having attended UIUC, you missed Allerton Park in Monticello and Arthur, where the Amish live. They are only 30 & 40 minutes, respectively, by car form campus. Additionally. Curtis Orchard is only 10 minutes by car from the SW section of campus.
Have you ever been to 4H Camp inside allerton park? Its a summer camp, and I have been going for over five years. In my opinion, it is the best place in the world!
Get drunk, go to sports bars, go to a forest preserve and smoke lots of weed....and drink more? Go to house, frat and sorority parties... and drink. Go to a sporting event.....and drink. Go study and dream of graduation so you can finally move back home or to a bigger city.
I went to the Ice Arena every weekend in Jr. High---haven't thought about that place for very long time. They used to play this weird old funky organ music, very 50's almost like David Lynch music in the weird underground film Eraserhead. It hadn't been updated with that shiny square facade you put in the video--it was strictly old school in architecture and music and atmosphere. My Jr. High (Edison) went there--meaning the rowdy kids--I was on the fringe.
My mother gave us a dollar and sent us to the ice rink on the bus. When the driver told us we’d arrived at our stop, my sister convinced him to drive off the route and drop us at the door. As you can imagine, this was quite a while ago. 64 years. We had to bring home the change.😂
As a native to CU who went to EIU, I feel this. Although, we always went to the townie bars because they had live music that almost always had after parties nearby.
Would love to check out some of these places. More restaurants. This will be my first time visiting Champaign and the Midwest as a whole. Coming from Texas some time between now and august for training for work! Looks like a nice place!
How do you suggest finding out about parties/finding people to go with without being involved in a sorority? I never really partied in high school and its something I'm curious about. Btw I totally binged all your videos and they were all super helpful
yikes. partying in high school helps to be bored with partying by the time one gets to college but of course can not go overboard on the partying in high school
I found it extremely easy to make friends in my dorm or during the first week of classes and then expanded from there. There are a million parties your first week of school. If you're introverted/shy, you may have a more difficult time initiating conversation, but I find that's the hardest part. I find the parties hosted by people outside of the frat culture to be a lot more fun, but to each their own on that front. Best of luck and don't be afraid to be yourself! Edit to say I also didn't party much at all in high school.
Just moved to Mahomet IL from metro Detroit and found your mythicon review. Saw that you went to school by here and have no idea what to do for fun so thanks!
I drove through town yesterday. Im from Normal. I usually don't have a reason to go over to Champaign. I saw Campustown, and I was like, "shoooot, they have a lot more than we do, it feels like!"
@@kellyktang lol yeah how could you have ever guessed. its inescapable ;_; I was trying to find ways to get out of my apartment with the off chance that there was a uiuc youtuber XD
i also watched your sorority video and being the only asian trying to fit in with a bunch of white ppl growing up was such a hard relate for me. you make great, informative, engaging content (omg sry so many adjectives)!
"Aren't the things you do the same in all places? Eat, drink boba, go shopping, fuck around with friends." Truer words have not been spoken.
as an urbanaian i can confirm fucking around with friends is the main thing to do here

I’m a townie and a grad. I avoid Scott Park. In the twilight, the concrete forms look like muggers, only one of them isn’t made of concrete.
Krannert is amazing! I'm a musical theatre major so I'm always in Krannert and it's only 10 dollars for students!
omg pushing out so much content 😍😍

What books have you read from the library?
Did you sustain any serious injuries when you fell on your face?

Yep it’s free on the quad! I think Post Malone performed one time before he got reeeeally big.
Bearology is a great place for boba 0-0
Also Virgina Theater shows plays and movies sometimes and it’s pretty epic my guy
"Thats the stadium. Thats where all the football games go on"

*Chancellor Jones glaring angrily at Frats*
What do you learn to cook in the cooking classes?
How much does it cost to climb the rock wall? And have you ever climbed the rock wall?
People actually say "Champaign-Urbana".
