A little disappointed and disturbed by his response on possible compromise of the NTF ELCAC by mining/logging/agri corps, land grabbers, and other bad non state or even state actors.
I would have wanted a response to show that they were more on top of said situation. Instead of asking for these reports from Mr. Heydarian.
It is great that representatives of other countries of ASEAN express support for the Philippines, even at least, during informal consultations. However, nothing can substitute the firmness of commitments of an official consensus, like a bilateral or multilateral agreement between members of ASEAN to uphold the rule-based international order in the face of China's aggressive assertion in the South China Sea. Without such collective resolve within ASEAN, China could perceive the organization as weak. In such a situation, China may continue to create pressure to divide ASEAN and isolate one country at a time until each nation falls like individual pieces of dominoes under the will of the CCP. That is, if ASEAN countries allow China to succeed in accomplishing that. Perhaps it's time for ASEAN to unite and show strong resolve and support for UNCLOS and the existing international order that keeps stability of security and prosperity for ASEAN and other nations in the Indo-Pacific region.
I think the NTF ELCAK bad reputation came from the fact that Badoy was made spokesman who did red tagging irresponsibly.
Without the permant settlement of grievances between ASEAN countries and with no actual defense and security unity within these member countries we cannot expect ASEAN solidarity. Only economic benefits will come out of it and nothing more.
