    Scott literally owns every single tool from every brand out there. I've concluded that it's easy to get a positive review from Scott as long as the tool doesn't stall. He seems to love almost all his polishers, except for the Rupes which stalls. Whether its Harbor Freight or Rupes. If it doesn't stall on rotation, he seems to give a positive review!

      New makita. Really cuts well but very jumpy in forced rotation and free spin. Stalls easily. I am disabled and was given one but i had to give it back i couldnt use it. Even some very good detailers said its jumpy

      @@autofanaticcars I've had my Makita,PO 6000C since Augusta 2017( Australian-European ) version !
      6000c stands for 6" backing plate!
      In my humble opinion it's better built and more powerful than the Rupes Mille 535rpm Makita PO 6000C 780rpm! Made in Japan!
      Finishes better than the Flex XC 3401 VRG. Much quieter and smoother less vibration. I'm a Professional detailer that does high end cars and this machine is the best machine like you said 👊👍

    Is the Mille able to cut as good as the Flex 3401? I heard that it generally takes _longer_ to cut the same amount as the Flex, but does it have the same cutting ability as the Flex? I have been using the weaker PC 7424XP for over 8 years, and it works great for minor/medium defects but I’ve found it doesn’t quite have the power to take out deeper scratches on harder surfaces- even with aggressive compound and pads. Speed and Efficiency is not a factor for me, as I will be only working on my personal cars, so I won’t need to get through many cars quickly.

    I have a Flex 3401 and use it as the ultimate go to tool for one step polishing a car. I wonder if this polisher would be a good addition to the 3401. Since I have many clients that have a car want it polished but don't care about the extreme shine I personally do. They want to have it done. And one month later they go to an automated car wash again. So that's why I stopped multi stage paint corrections for each client. I try to decide for each client individually what approach I will use for them. Love using Menzerna 2500 and simply hit. Wonder what this machine could do for me.

      I traded in my Rupes for a Mikita PO5000. After working with it for a couple of months now I think that the Mikita is the better machine and will not have any engineering flaws. The Mikita machine was also a hundred $ cheeper. The Mikita is like the Flex VRG with more POWER.

    • @shinefactoryburnside2821
      @shinefactoryburnside2821 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The Makita is a great machine ... you get the good cutting of a fixed rotation, then you switch to finish out. No one is talking about it because it’s not one the the “brand names” of flex and rupes

    • @Jackieletits
      @Jackieletits 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No ones talking about it because it's not that good compared to the Flex or the Rupes. The makita is loud, it walks on its own very easily, the ability to switch from forced to DA is great but the DA portion of it sucks. Small throw, takes longer to finish down nicely. Overall, it's price point is near the Flex and Rupes and it's just not as good of a machine.

    • @bestep74
      @bestep74 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The few reviews I have seen show it has very good positive attributes. I'm totally discounting the free spin option as no other machine has it, that I know of, and it's not the reason I would buy one. Makita generally makes quality items, that doesn't mean this one is. But I don't want to rule it out without more substantive information.

    • @frandanco6361
      @frandanco6361 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Flex 3401VRG was the first, forced rotation machine made for auto paint correction.. The company makes big tools for polishing stones, etc., for way longer than the oldest 5 people working at this place... :)
      I bought that first 3401VRG way back then, and tried it, it was ok but not anywhere near the power of direct drive that a rotary has...
      Also any of these random orbitals are going to vibrate a lot and that is never good for your hands, etc., over long periods of time..
      This is why I only use Rotary Power for all paint correction..

  • @bdragonseven

      Jimmy Becker the answer is to not use a DA at all and just learn to use a rotary machine properly which can have every size pad on only one machine

    • @davidhall8712
      @davidhall8712 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree with Dr for the most part. I rotary to quickly correct defects then second stage with a 6,5 or 3in da polisher to take care of swirls. Don't see a need for this Rupes

    • @TheDrnorton
      @TheDrnorton 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      david hall I get the whole point of these Rupes machines and the flex is to have the pad not stop spinning, well the rotary never stops spinning so why not just rotary and save money on machines. 🤔. So yes David, I’m on the same playing field as you, I rotary cut, then DA finish. Works well!

    • @frandanco6361
      @frandanco6361 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I use Rotary Power for everything and never swirl or hologram, so it is pretty much a 1 machine shop. I also have one of the first Flex3401VRG machines from almost 10 years ago, and it hardly ever gets used.. Great machine, runs counter clockwise vs all others, is better for applying something after, etc., than heavy duty correction work..
      My Makita with a spacer, and backing plates all the way down to 1 inch, is all I ever need. Direct drive, no vibration, no stalling, etc., just fast paint correction.
      If you do this for a living, you have to be very efficient, innovative, and fast..
      No time to wait for the put the name of it here____________________ random orbital to do the work, and vibrate your hands to death...
