I just now realized that "stringers" is a play on "stingers," like the ones jellyfish have. I also just realized that the new idols represent 3 of the most dangerous sea creatures: sharks (Shiver), eels (Frye), and manta rays (Big Man). You can even see that in some aspects of their design, like how Frye's hair could be interpreted as an eel with its tongue hanging out. Shiver even holds a shark mask during Deep Cut's initial reveal.
Extra fact about anarchy rainbow: the music is two different cultures and thier designs as well. The music when they show Shiver has a Japanese motif and the part when they show Frey is a Indian motif.
I wonder if there's gonna be any in game lore on Shiver and Frye, similar to how they introduced Marina as the first Octoling. Neither of them have the same eye markings as Inklings or Octolings, so I wonder if it'll be touched on. I can see Frye being an Octo-Inkling hybrid, and I've seen a ton of people hoping that Shiver will be a Sharking!

We got so many new things: A better lobby for multiplayer battles which is an actual area to walk around in rather than a glorified menu; something to do while waiting for players to join your match; target dummies that fire enemy ink at you; something to customize (not apartments like so many people were hoping for tho, but still very neat); a new gamemode (Table Turf Battles), 3 new specials added on to the ones already revealed and returning Splat 2 specials; LOADOUTS, 2 new weapon classes (With the potential for more in the future); 2 new boss salmonids (Slammin' Lid and Big Shot); Salmon Run superbosses in the form of king salmonids; A higher rank than profreshional; A system for buying weapons that can allow you to buy weapons that you are underleveled for (allowing players to more easily unlock their favorite weapons); Another large forehead; BIG MAN; I'm calling it now, Shiver is the waifu character for splatoon 3. 3 splatfest teams; 48 hour splatfests; Tricolor turf war battles for the second day of splatfest; Murch can now change the main ability for a gear piece; 2 new abilities; you can dab (along with other emotes). so much new content revealed in just this direct alone, not to mention all of the stuff from previous directs. I can't wait for Splatoon 3 to release.

It's actually a real life card game with very old poetry that requires knowledge of it to win, which is why Jelfonso is insane at it. I forgot the name since it's Japanese but it sounds cool!
The Slosher's kit is genuinely one of the things I'm most excited about. I've been a Slosher main ever since the weapon was introduced, and I've missed having the Inkstrike (although I did like the Tenta Missiles). Plus, I always wished it came equipped with regular Splat Bombs. The switch from Burst to Suction Bombs on the Slosher between the first two games was a huge improvement to me, but now I'm getting exactly what I've always wanted.
