This was a folk song I chose for my then 5yo son (now 6yo) to learn and we had a blast practising in the living room with him dancing and trying to play the harmonica in tune. 😊 Recently, he asked me to play this rendition again - we love it!
I listen to these guys about at least 10 to 15 times a day... these guys taught me how to do Bluegrass on my ukulele and have it really sound good..... can't get enough of them
Since I grew up in Nashville and later lived in Bristol, then certainly I was raised and spoon fed on the Carter Family, Flatt, and Scruggs, Mac Weisman, Carl Smith, etc. But I have to admit: you Yankee boys have got the sound down pat. You guys have graduated to the high, wailing realm of the true HillBilly Artist and Masterful Folk Musicians. Keep goin!
Please don't forget that it was the interest in NYC in the late fifties and early sixties that helped a lot of the great southern players, such as Doc Watson, get his start. New England, the Pacific Northwest, Michigan... It has truly become a national music that grew out of Appalachia, just as jazz grew out the lower Mississippi (only that went world-wide faster). Thanks to Thomas Edison and Marconi, great music no longer is confined to small areas. There are good bluegrass, Cajun, Celtic, jazz, even Quechua groups scattered all throughout Europe. We live, at least in this respect, in a golden era. Best wishes from Sweden.🌹

I love the lyrics in the first two verses. They're the ones that Maybelle and Sara used, very different from the ones sung by Lester Flatt, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band or many other people.
