I am sooo glad someone took the time to do a video like this. I cant afford to pay someone to do this for me, and honestly I would like to do it myself. You have put me in a position that I feel I could do it. I would like to believe that my knowledge is good enough to perform the task, so thanks for the video.
You are welcome! Hopefully I covered your questions. Before I started my project I tried to find a video that broke it down, but I couldn't find what I was looking for. I'm happy to hear that it's helpful. Good luck on your project! You'll be able to get it done!
I think you definitley covered stuff that others have not on this type of modification. For all those thinking of a F100 coyote swap the one question you need to answer first is what are you going to do with the front suspension, Mainly 3 choices, Keep I beam front end and convert to disc brakes, Crown vic front end with steering rack, or go the QA1 route for front suspension. Those really dictate what route you go on some stuff. Thanks for the info on the PS resevoir, I had not decided on what I was going to do. I am liklely going to paint my champion radiator too, great idea. My F100 is well on the way, but not to the point of it driving. For anyone thinking of this 2 great places to keep in mind are PBH which was mentioned in the video, and Fat Fender Garage. There are different ways to approach this and each one of those can be your supplier of parts depending on how you might do yours.
Thank you!! And thanks for adding some info! I was lucky when I ordered my champion radiator because they offered it in black and with Coyote size outlet and inlet. Kind of cool that they offer it like that now! That'll be awesome when you're able to drive yours! I absolutely love driving mine!!
Great video man, thanks for the content! I started building a 69 f100 a while ago and have now decided to swap the old inline 6 for a coyote. I just got mine from a 2014 mustang and went with the mt82 transmission. Definitely going to be the biggest project I've ever attempted since this will be the first engine I've ever swapped. Wish me luck! lol should be a fun one for me and my son.
Thanks!! It feels like a big swap, but not bad at all, especially since all the research and parts development has already been done. You're gonna love it, especially with the manual!
ok, i just gotta say that this was very informative and comprehensive. it's loaded with information. and it has stuff i didn't know i needed - like the heater hose mod, among other things. one question i had has to do with the wiring. did you use the ford control pack? or do you use the stock engine harness and the PBH engine harness with the stock harness. i missed what wiring was used.
Thank you very much! It could be a little confusing because it was to me at first. I used the factory transmission and engine harness. Then I used the PBH "body" harness with the fuse panel and relays. My short description of it is at 15:27 in the video. Let me know if you need any other help!
@PapaWheeliesWorld - Love your truck. I am working on a similar swap with the full Crown Vic frame. Thanks for putting this video together. It is a HUGE help! Couple questions if you don't mind. Are you still using factory Mustang headers? If so, what year? Also are your Outcast mounts the 1" rise, or just the standard height mounts? I got the 1" rise but not sure if the bellhousing/trans will have interference with the tunnel or not.
Thanks for the compliment!! Yes, I'm running the factory 2014 Mustang headers. I wanted to do long tubes, but I couldn't find any info on whether or not they would fit with the Coyote in crown Vic chassis. I originally got the 1" taller mounts, but I returned then and got the standard height because the trans wouldn't clear the tunnel. In order to keep my cab as low as possible I didn't use factory can bushings. I used a 1/4" rubber isolator. The 1" rise mounts just might clear its you're using factory style cab mounts. Feel free to ask any questions you might have! 😎
@@PapaWheeliesWorld Thanks for all the info! I somehow missed the part where you mentioned the factory headers and modifying the frame section. I am using the factory cab mounts so might be able to get away with the 1" rise mounts. I ordered the factory height mounts with the relocation brackets to be sure I have all the options. Since you used the factory headers, did you use a Mustang mid-pipe or do all custom exhaust from the headers back?
@22Leo81 with the 1" rise you may not need to clearance the frame either. When I clearanced it I did it extra just to make sure I'd have extra room if I do headers in the future. I did full custom exhaust from the headers back.
@@PapaWheeliesWorld thank you For the info. This video makes me start my swap on my f-100 1972 What Brake booster did u use? My didn’t came with a booster.
@luissalazar8652 you're welcome! I didn't remember what booster exactly, but it was just a small diameter booster from Summit Racing for a '67 F100. The master was also for an F100, but specific for disc brakes front and rear.
@@AdventureswithBigJohn that's awesome! Where are you located? If you go to my channel playlists click on Vince's F100. That one is crown Vic front, explorer rear. We covered a bit more of his build on the videos. His is a lot of fun!!
All of these trucks are getting these Crown Vic frames and Coyotes. They are not F100 s anymore. It’s his truck but my 67 F100 my Dad gave me with a 69 Galaxie 390 2V C6 swap I did made that truck so sweet to drive. All I did was new king pin bushings and getting the Caster and Camber right. It had a soul. We owned it for 40 years. Is this groupthink or something, AI what? All of those best in the business frames are being discarded? Twin I Beam is what made the truck a truck.
@ I love that. There was a guy that had a Bear Alignment Machine that he could bend and twist beams. I did my 67 for perfect Caster and Camber. You can’t even legally do that now. But even with manual steering, it was perfect. It was the perfect Caster that really helped the leverage of the tires to steer so well. I love those trucks!
@@Bbbbad724 it's a bummer that there aren't really shops around that know how to work on the old stuff anymore. Plus, like you're saying, the alignment is critical to making a vehicle handle well. @@PapaWheeliesWorld I have recently learned the difference between my Ford E-250 5.4 liter engine and the 32 valve Coyote Engines. Do you think the Coyote Engine Cylinder heads are way too wide to fit into the width of the (Doghouse) engine cover of my 2002 E250? @@PapaWheeliesWorld Could you please measure the widest part of the Coyote Valve covers from side to side? I would like to compare its width to my existing 5.4 engine.
