- This video documents my Drake Camo Duracoat Project for the Remington 11-87 12G Shotgun.
The firearm in this project is a Remington Model 11-87, Super Magnum, 12G Shotgun.
Any and all firearms seen in this video were cleared and made safe before handling of ANY kind. ALWAYS practice SAFE handling of Firearms at ALL TIMES.
Always USE Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) whenever performing airbrushing of any kind, and use proper ventilation!

I have a few projects overdue for posting.. hoping to get into the ‘Shorts’ game, and will likely be performing a change to the channel name. Despite my anemic collection of vids, the algorithms have been hindering my channel/ activity, likely due to “the word after the numbers” in my channel name. YT doesn’t like that word .. stay tuned 😎

Man, what an awesome project! I've done a small bit of hydrodipping, but have yet to mess with Duracoat or Cerekote. I need a field barrel for my Rem 11-87 Sportsman 12g Slug gun. Such a great shotgun, but I don't live in a place any longer that restricts deer hunting to slug guns only.
Christian Grest - Thanks! I’ve done a few rattle can paint jobs, but never tried hydrodipping.. I wanted to try some schemes/ patterns with more detail, so I picked up a basic airbrushing kit off of Amazon. As I got a little more experience, I gradually started upgrading my equipment. It’s really fun 🙂👍🏼
Side note: Duracoat now has a new paint available called “Duraheat.” It’s ideal for suppressors and barrels due to it’s extreme heat tolerances.
p99shooter Hydrodipping wasn’t too hard. I bought a kit to do my wife’s AR-15 handguard. The airbrush I’m sure makes a huge difference when laying the coating down. Really could’ve used that when laying the base color before hydrodipping, but used a spray can instead.

How long did you let each color of Duracoat dry before you put the next layer of stencils on?
I usually wait about 24hrs btwn a coat, and applying stencils..
It’s all about taking your time, and simply enjoying the process!

Thanks! Totally unusual, I know. 😆This project was for a friend. It was exactly what he wanted, as it involves bragging about UofK’s round ball program at his hunt camp. 🤷🏻♂️

However, the quality of the stencils, from ‘Predator Ink’ in Florida, cannot be disputed. Fantastic company

Yes, but Duracoat applies very thinly .. The layers don’t build up too much, and it ensures that everything is covered..
