    Hey Ryan, just came across your channel…I’m retired from oil and gas industry in Calgary and considering reloc to Windsor Essex this year. Very helpful info…concerned about health care situation, but like weather and proximity to DTW airport!

    40 years ago, I was in a Canadian youth group called Katimavik. Our group was the first group which Windsor ever hosted. We were stationed in Windsor for 3 months from Jan 1tth to April 11th. Watching videos about Windsor show some changes since we were there. Our group had several day trips (Hiram Walker Distillery, Point Pelee) but due to the time of year and budgets of this program, we not only did not see these things; as I believe many were never there. (the train station in 1984 was not what is there now :)

    My biggest issue is finding a place with a big yard; they seem to be converting those properties to condos

    My only regret is that I didn’t go with my intuition 5yrs ago and buy that 3 car garage home in Amherstburg for 250K smh. Planning on moving this year.

    Love the videos and information! Wish I knew about the Fraser Institute before I started my house search. 😅 Anyway, I don’t think I’ve seen anything on the Fontainebleau neighborhood. Any insights into that area?

    I have a question: Canadian citizens can stay up to 181 days in the US. Does this mean we can travel to Detroit for only 181 days and the rest 6 months we can't? Or are those days supposed to be cumulative and can be anytime within a year?

    • @ryancrits8180
      @ryancrits8180  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think that’s 181 consecutive days

      @@ryancrits8180 so what's there to do for the rest of the year? Is there anything to talk about Windsor without mentioning Detroit?

    • @ryancrits8180
      @ryancrits8180  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yes, all of my videos talk about Windsor - lakes, beaches, sports teams, great food, great shows, the casino etc

    Doesn't Windsor have a high unemployment rate?

      İts not good choice to come Windsor? For a newcomer, especially about trying to find a job

    • @ryancrits8180

      The Windsor assembly plant employs 4000 people. Everytime they have a scheduled temporary shut down (to retool the plant) the unemployment rate jumps. Those people are all still employed, but on paper it looks bad. So when you read the unemployment rate posted on cbc it’s not accurate

    I loved living in Winsor back in the 70s. Bought my house there for $18,000 and $200 down. my kids would shoot me if I even suggested moving back there since all the family has moved out of Ontario it’s cheaper to live in Alberta but I do miss Home

    Ryan, thanks for this content. I currently live in the GTA and am considering moving to Windsor. How is the South Walkerville area?

    • @ryancrits8180
      @ryancrits8180  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      South walkerville is nice! I actually like it more than walkerville. It has Older homes with beautiful architecture. Expect to pay 550-650 for a brick home with 3+ beds and two bathrooms

    Talk to me about cottage country? Lakes? Beach?

    • @ryancrits8180
      @ryancrits8180  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      There are cottages along Lake Erie and lake st Clair. It’s not like muskoka though, you won’t be surrounded by woods. But their are nice cottage - st Clair is better: calmer waters and great fishing
