I would say arcane is the best animated show I have seen perhaps barring avatar, but even then its still really close different audiences this is definitely targeted towards an older one. You should watch it.

@@thethirdbill I don't think you'd regret watching it! Think of it as like The Lion King. No one feels prepared for Mufasa's death and the emotional punches of Simba's guilt-ridden arc. But it's a beautifully emotional story & an animation masterpiece beloved by most who see it, nonetheless! The same applies to Arcane. Arcane hits different in a complicated emotional way, but also in an amazing way!
This video should be called, "Bill accurately describes Arcane by just listening to the soundtrack." I think it speaks to both Bill's analytical skills and the and the care put into the soundtrack that he was able to get this much out of it.

Arcane is the television show equivalent of the famous joke, "Well, at least things can't get any worse!" and then they do get worse.
watching act 1 the night it released will forever be a unmatched experience. i remember watching in shock and horror things got worse and worse at every turn, like they WENT there every time, until everything was lost and you're crying and its like holy shit? what do you even do? i was speechless for a solid 15 minutes after, could barely form sentences lmao. it was 3am and my mind was just blown
Yes, please watch Arcane. You don’t need to understand League of Legends to enjoy the show.
I'd argue it's *better* not to know anything about League to watch Arcane. That way you have no reason to know or expect to see certain characters to end up like they are in-game.

Man, the creators of Arcane put something into every second of every scene and every line of the song, to better tell the story. It's amazing that there is no unimportant scene in any scene of any episode of the show. Really great production. I can't wait to see what Riot Games will do in season 2.
I would say that it’s a huge credit to the composers as well - to be able to make music that fits the theme and story so well, that is.

You're gonna fall in love with the artstyle of Arcane, story and raw non sugar coded reality of this world. You should absolutely watch it, but that being said... Arcane would break you, chew you out crushing your heart in the process feeding you one singular candy in beetween, then leave You crying in a ditch.
You are gonna love the show, I am positive about that, but seeing your reation to other shows, You need to prepare yourself mentally for this absolute shitshow of emotional damage.

Arcane is incredible, genuinely the best animated series out there imo, it's also the backstory of several league characters so you don't need to know anything abt the game cause the games aren't actually canon they just have lore for all the characters, there's no actual league in runeterra (their world) where all these people fight, there used to be but it got retconned, it's also relatively short compared to other shows you've reacted to, it's split into 3 acts with 3 40 minute episodes per act so 6 hours for the 1st season EDIT: Also yes you've picked up on the steampunk vibes in the music, Vi (one of the central characters) Was made in 2012 and was peak steampunk era

Dude this show is so good and the soundtrack is somehow better. I listened to pretty much solely the soundtrack for a few weeks after I finished the show. Also a little fact -- all the songs were created specifically for the show, which I think is pretty cool. I would love to see you react to it on the channel, but I feel like you would enjoy watching it on your own, as it is such a wonderful show and so incredibly powerful.
i think the reason arcane is so good is because of the music, if it wasn't the animation, story telling or attention to detail.

Arcane is a MASTERPIECE!!! The creators of the show deliberately like to include a section in each episode that is basically a music video. These songs are WAY more than just background music!
The sync of "Oh, the misery" and "UGGHH WHAT'S IN YOUR MOUTH?" is so choice.

Absolutely you should watch arcane! It slays, but can get pretty intense. Absolute masterwork of animation. It’s broken up into 3 parts 3 episodes a piece there’s a lot to breakdown per part so that could be a good way to break up videos!

(Get Jinxed has its own video too, though it's a character spotlight for the game and not part of the show. It's very similar in visual style though, and does link in to the story in Arcane.)

Take care if you decide to watch Arcane, it has a TON of real heavy parts. It’s a BEAUTIFUL show with amazing writing and graphics, but there’s major themes of s*icide, psychosis, schizophrenia, grief, child abuse, all the good stuff. And since it’s brilliantly written, it goes INTO those themes.

Yeah, there is a reason that there is a whole channel (schnee) that pretty much dedicates itself to the Psychoanalysis of this show and more then one therapist Channel are watching and talking about it.

You know how some movies and shows just push the medium forward? Like, say, Into The Spider-Verse, and how it became a benchmark for stylised CG action? Well, I think Arcane is one of those shows, and will be a high-water mark for both its animation/artistic quality and its writing for quite some time to come.
I would pay good money just for you to watch the Dynasty and Dystopia scene because it’s one of my favourites. Such a powerful moment

Big ups for watching the show. The less you know the better. A lot of emotional beats that will definitely tear you to shreds in the best ways. I always rated Last Airbender as the best animated show but this is a masterclass that easily surpasses it in every way without being too high concept. If you do decide to watch it though, if you're not doing episode by episode I recommend doing it in 3 episode binges. It's how it was released week over week initially and effectively addresses each act of the show beautifully. It's very carefully crafted and couldn't recommend I more. All the best Bill ❤️
Oh man, a reaction to the show would be amazing. It's seriously one of the best animated shows I've ever seen. They spent 6 years producing it, and it really shows in the quality of the art and animation. And all the characters are so well-realized, so nuanced and multifaceted. There are a few major plot threads that all intersect, and several characters all with their own agendas and ideologies, and everything comes together so beautifully. And as others have said, you don't need to know anything about League of Legends to understand it, and it's honestly not really anything like the game.
Also, the music is incredibly well done. The songs were written specifically for the show, and the lyrics in a lot of them are pretty on-the-nose for how they're used in the show, so I'm not surprised Bill was able to fairly accurate get the gist of things from just them, but of course they're even more effective with the full context of the show to go with them.
I’d love to see your thoughts and reaction on the show. Even though I myself know nothing of legue of legends, I found Arcane to be one of the most well-written stories I’ve seen. Definitely looking forwards your content regarding this show!

Guns for Hire and Goodbye are my two fav songs on this soundtrack. I really like The Monster You Created too. I'm not sure. All of them are just so hauntingly beautiful to me, ESPECIALLY knowing the context.

Arcane might definitely be one of, if not, the BEST animated series I've ever watched. Everything about it is just so masterfully done, from the art, music, characterization, plot lines, character dynamics, themes, everything is a masterpiece. I went into this blind, 0 expectations, 0 ideas on what it was about, and I had such a great time. Absolutely fell in love within the first few seconds
This show is definitely more intense than other shows you’re watched on this channel, as in the themes are heavy from the start without cute songs/jokes to soften them, but I would still 100% rec it, even if not for the channel

I would definitely recommend watching it, even if you don't do a reaction video. It was brilliant and so worth watching, even if you have never played or know anything about League Of Legends. Speaking as someone who has watched the series, you nailed the analysis on these songs with a surprising amount of accuracy.

the way bill dissected these songs are just next level, and the meanings he extracted are uncannily accurate.
It is AMAZING just how much of the story Bill was able to piece together from just listening to the soundtrack (with zero prior knowledge of the story or lore).
Brings me back to the indisputable fact that Arcane is literally a masterpiece in every respect and extreme attention to detail on every aspect is paid (even to how the different characters walk down stairs differently and in their own way...) throughout literally every second of every episode.
