So happy Ray Chen was given proper credit on this song! He is the violinist throughout this piece and deserves every bit of praise he receives for this song. His skill as a violinist and overall musicality is jawdropping.
I'm late, but I really liked when Sting was singing this live, and when the audience began to applaud everyone involved with the performance, Sting bowed, and then immediately presented Ray and was basically gesturing the audience to applaud him more. Real recognizes real

I feel like the violin is reacting/responding to what is sung. It's always either a desperate, painful outcry or an emotional outburst with lots of screaming and shouting when you pay attention to WHEN it happens
Every aspect of Arcane speaks to the story, including the music. The violin always represented Jinx's emotional state. Throughout it was mostly somber and/or discordant. In What Could Have Been it starts out the same way, then becomes like an inner conversation she's having between her thoughts (voice) and emotions (violin). You hear the violin build in the beginning as she works up her resolve to pull the trigger and then we get a flourish that is clean, strong, and confident like she's finally embraced who she is.

This is, without a doubt MY favorite song from Arcane, just just just MAGNIFICENT and amazing, beautiful, the first time I hear this was just insane as well as the first time you hear it in the show with all that fantastic composition of Jinx pain face, the epic council scene and the damn rocket crossing the red night with that big red moon. Just perfect.

@@musabo9893 nah, they only said It would be less Time for the second season, so not 6 years, probably 5, but I could be wrong and It could come out next year
Yes., the idea of Arcane was made 6 years ago but the animation and plot was made at most 4 years ago with 2 or 3 years of animation and composing of music. Most of the time it was ideas being thrown around for higher up approval because a series/movie was still a big project as well as the idea of a garden and Katarina movie was in concept and even a story mode was made but then scraped. So since the animation techniques and the plot more defined and already made. The show would be at most 2 year wait or maybe 3 so 2023 we might see it
Always loved seeing you do these. It's sad that this is the last one, but was looking forward to this one, NOT DISAPPOINTED! Looking forward to season 2! They actually can't afford a 6yrs time frame for s2. 1-2 years top if they want to ride the wave. The thing is, they could take 6yrs for a completely new story but not a continuation. Not only that, s1 was working from scratch but s2 isn't and I bet they've put more money and people into into it now cause they have confirmed it works and s1 brought them a lot of money. Well, granted Netflix holds. Still, it feels like to long of a wait cause the show was damn good
Thanks TH-cam for bringing this song back around again; they couldn't have found better artists than Sting and Ray Chen on this track. The whole soundtrack is a masterpiece to go with a masterpiece of an animation/story.
