    Love your channel and seeing the scenes in Paris! We stayed near the Place de Voges a few weeks ago and absolutely loved le Marais. I really like how your foods are so unprocessed and healthy. Thanks for sharing your recipes and daily life. ❤

    Bonjour. Another excellent video. I appreciate that you will make a recipe even if you don’t have one of the ingredients. That was Julia Childs approach to cooking too. Even if you didn’t have the beef, you could substitute another protein or omit it and make a vegetarian daub. You show us practical cooking tips and are very resourceful. Much better than rigidly sticking to a recipe. Thank you. Joseph.

      Yes, exactly you're right. It's realistic as we are all busy and we do not always have the time and energy to run to the store. Moreover, it saves money not to always run to buy other ingredients. It prevents compulsive purchases. Thanks for watching ☺️ have a nice day

      @@easyfrenchdiet bonjour. In watching other videos of regular French people buying their food, Ive noticed how many buy prepared meals, snack foods, sugar drinks, fake bread and other items along these lines. It is sad that many of them cannot afford their purchases especially items like meat and fresh fruit and vegetables. Some of them are older, others ill, most are living on limited income. It would be wonderful if your videos could reach more people as a
      teaching aid for them. At times it can be overwhelming to fix creative meals without guidance. We can all use your help.
      Just my observation. Joseph.

    • @easyfrenchdiet

      Yes I know and I see a lot of people like that in my practice who buy these products when often it costs them much more than if they cooked. The economic argument, contrary to what one believes, does not often hold water. Indeed, these premade products are often very expensive. I advise my patients to cook but very often they don't want to change their habits. It's the reason why I have this channel. To show instead of just saying. Thanks for your support! Have a nice day ☺️

      Bonjour. Im watching a program called “Plats Industrial” on TH-cam channel “Food Stories”. It shows how some bistros etc are serving prepared foods which are cooked at industrial commissaries. Apparently this helps keep prices down. Can you shed any light on this subject? Merci et bonne journée. …Joseph.

    • @easyfrenchdiet
      @easyfrenchdiet  วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes, they play with the regulations and circumvent them so that they can say that is homemade when in fact 90% of the dish is industrial and just reheated on site or practically. It's very annoying. But unfortunately they have the right to do that. Also, you have to be careful to choose restaurants that have menus with few dishes. This is often an indicator of homemade.

    Brandy is similar to Cognac and I will add that instead. I am a single and appreciate these stews and soups to make and have for a few meals with meat and vegetables. Thank you. I often make your chicken thigh stew with the peppers.

      Brandy is also made out of grapes and not distilled twice. Cheaper and a bit sweeter. Cognac is all French of course with stricter standards and French Oak barrels. I made Daube De Beu today. I needed four hours to cook down as I simmered it to low. My mistake. The brandy added a sweeter taste. Shallots are newer to me in stews. Very Good. Very French. I will make this again. I also enjoy Jacque Pepin's Channel also. People complain he uses too much salt In comments. 😄Merci

    I am in Paris on 21 December for the day (Eurostar is fabulous) and on trips close to christmas I love to bring lovely chocolate home. I love Kusmi Tea, the sel de Guérande and a little cheese amongst other goodies. I also grab skin care as it is much cheaper in France.
    I love my cast Iron pot, I use it several times a week and agree it would make a wonderful gift. 😊

    Another great video! I had placed an order for tea from Mariage Frères last week and just received my shipment a few days ago. I didn't buy any of the Noël tea but I think that I'll place another order because the packaging is beautiful and I love being surprised by all of the wonderful flavors (also, my favorite "Arabie" was out of stock and it's now back in stock).

A viewer also recommended Kusmi tea and it's true that their boxes are also rather pretty. Thanks for watching ☺️

      @@easyfrenchdietI bought some kusmi tea on my last visit to Strasbourg. Some weeks later I learned that the kind I had bought was full of pesticides. There was an official warning. So now I use the lovely tin only for decorational purpose.

    • @easyfrenchdiet
      @easyfrenchdiet  3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Good to know! How did you get the info about the pesticides?

    • @IsabelLutz
      @IsabelLutz 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@easyfrenchdiet There was a little article in my newspaper about tests with teas and herbal teas. Then I went on the webside of the consumers' magazine that was mentioned in the article and found out that in some countries they use pesticides that are no longer allowed in the EU. Since Kusmi was mentioned in the article and I had some health problems at that time, I didn' t use the tea. It is now on a kitchen shelf because I find it very attractive. But I don't know, if Kusmi is still having problems with pesticides in their teas and herbal tea. The thing is that consumers have to be made aware of those problems because otherwise the companies concerned do not change anything. And it is all about our health!

      Hello. The very typical traditional dish is turkey or capon which is stuffed with a stuffing of chestnuts, veal or pork and shallots, all fried in butter. It is served with chestnut puree, Brussels sprouts and potatoes. But there is also duck with orange (I have a video) or coq au vin. As a starter, foie gras or oysters. yum that made me hungry! Bonsoir 🥰 I would like to ask something please: I see that in France, people do like their butter and cheese. I was wondering if you, as dietitian, have come across people that have high cholesterol and should not be eating this kind of fats. If yes, what is suggested they eat? I for example, am from Athens and although 30 yo and healthy (and in love with butter and cheeses haha) have a chronic cholesterol issue that keeps me from having these snacks. So I am watching your videos to feel like it’s me😅 I wonder, if I was living in France, what would I be eating instead 😂

    • @easyfrenchdiet
      @easyfrenchdiet  6 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Hello, your question is quite complicated because high cholesterol does not always mean the same thing and the recommendations differ depending on the level but also on age and comorbidities. So I could not really answer you. In France, in case of high cholesterol it is often recommended avoiding saturated fats and to replace them with olive oil for instance but it all depends, as indicated, on the context because sometimes it is not necessary and personally very often i'm not convinced by this approach. But as I said it's difficult to answer without knowing the person and the context as our cholesterol is mainly produced by the liver. Thanks for watching ☺️

      You could add more fiber to your diet and see if it helps. As far as I know, most of the cholesterol is produced by the body itself. It is mentioned in articles about the fact that eggs don't increase your cholesterol level ( recent studies, look it up at pubmed).
