Can you make a video about inav on aios ? I got a bunch of half broken aios with 1/2 escs busted but others are working fine! Would be great reuse for mini wings like this ! 🔥🔥
I think once you get smaller than about the AR Mini or Nano Goblin (let's say, less than 600mm or 24" span), you very quickly start to make a lot of compromises that aren't much fun. No wind. No digital. Tiny battery. Limited options for motors, props, ESCs, etc. *Very* sensitive CG. It's a neat challenge to say you can do it, but I don't find it very fun to fly and everything has to be just right.
I completely agree, i rc converted a lidl chuck glider 460mm with fpv and tbh like you say, there are a lot of comprimises, although i still managed an fc , full elrs rx, 868 antenna and osd ;) 114g :)
Not true at all!!! I've been flying LDARC 450x planes for about a year now and the only compromise is that you can't really fly it on windy days. I'm flying with HD Zero and even with crappy antennas I've been able to get 1.5 miles out. My max flight time is just over 24 minutes on an 1100mah 2s lipo. Flying weight is 160g. The setup: LDARC 450x Airframe FC designed by me (Drop in replacement for stock, F405 running an iNav6 target I made for it) 3.7g Servos 1207 5000kV motor 4024 Prop Spedix ES20 Lite ESC Crossfire Nano Rx NewBeeDrone M10Q Micro GPS HD Zero Race v2 VTX HD Zero Nano Lite Camera
@@dooddrones6521I I fully agree with you! The 450X is really a nice platform and performs really well. Mine is running the original FC01 but upgraded to a 1404 @6000 kv running 3S on a 4" prop (step-down converter for the FC). About 3 minutes runtime with a 3S 450 mAh but it's really fast, stable and nimble. Unfortunately, they are less available and to expensive.
@@joeljonker990 Sounds like you turned it into a nice little race wing. And yeah. I've emailed LDARC from 2 of my email accounts stating that they should produce them again. Maybe if more people ask for it they would make it again. Especially with the FAA attempting to pull this BS. Only place to get them right now is aliexpress and with shipping the kits are about $50 a piece
@@dooddrones6521The only advantage that this DF Ghost Wing might have over the LDARC TinyWing 450X is the slightly better durability of the black EPP. We were (eventually) lucky when Bangers was getting out of its Oz warehouse a couple of years back. When trying to add another PNP version to our inventory we kept getting sent the 2 pieces Kit versions - obviously the shysters were trying to clear their surplus stock that nobody wanted at the time. So, with the correct ones we eventually scored, we have plenty of spares which have never been needed. The small size and light weight makes it pretty hard to damage them and the flexible props seem to be indestructible. And you get 10 props with each shell! The Plastic FPV canopy was the major useful upgrade on the later versions we got - MUCH more room than on this little fellah! Currently we are trying to set up the stock FC that used to come with this (received in a Glue-and-Fly SU-27 kit from HeeWing) when Health, Old Age and Apathy can be held at bay.
Ive built one recently with a Matek f411wte fc and it flys 15 minutes on 750mah 2s. Full inav functionality and a lot of fun, but its a bit heavier but the stabilisation means its still controllable even in pretty strong winds.
I prefer the LDARC Tiny Wing which is about the same size, but has way more compartment space, and are almost half the price for a PNP. Lots of guys are putting iNav in them too.
I ordered one of these a few months ago but it's just been sitting in my closet. I just can't get away from these LDARC 450x airframes. They're too good!!! The only problem is it's discontinued and very hard to find. I actually designed an FC that's a drop in replacement for the stock one. F405, running an iNav 6 target I made for it (I know I know, I need to upgrade to 7). Once I'm done with revision 2 (Extra servo outputs and a 9v power rail on a pit switch) I'd like to send a couple to you for possible official support.
Maybe not the smallest o lightest but maybe the easiest to get flying out of the box with little to no experience :) I think it could benefit having fins for slow flying characteristis since it relies only on speed and the swept wing (judging by your earlier video of this tiny wing) and that should make it perform better in side wind and such 😄 MIcro and nao stuff afe great, especially challenging when flown indoors 😉
It's probably most fun in the evening or at night when the wind has settled. Those AIO camera lenses have a weird sort of distortion though causing objects to change a lot in size depending on where the lens is pointed. I've tried them before but I couldn't fly properly with them because it becomes very difficult to estimate distance and speed in FPV. The cameras on modern whoops and 2 inch quads are much better, coupled with a separate tiny VTX. Also, with a mixing video receiver such as in the Skyzone goggles, wouldn't it be better to use a dipole antenna on the VTX and 2 dipole antennas at 90 degrees offset on the goggles receiver? You'll save weight and vulnerability to damage on the airplane, and my guess is you'll have better reception too. It'll be interesting to see if you can INAV to it. There's hardly any space for a FC.
Ok so, Ive build a similiar wing but white one with vertical stabilisers. Ive fitted it with 16x16 FC running INAV, smallest no name GPS I found and the usuals. The main point is I gave it 3500mAh MJ1 LiIon battery and a step-up board for FC to have 5V. It has RCinPower motor 1207 - 7500kv spinning 3.8x3x2 prop. Flight time.........IDK......I never did fly it long enough to figure out but once it was close to 37 minutes.............I think....it was as fun as ECO-RALLYE because after throw you were changing thr like in range of 90-100% only and could not really do anything but carefully turn haha
if you have some wind anyway, a FC like CC3D (mine) , with librepilot) does the job th-cam.com/video/mxrmn2RD-dg/w-d-xo.html . Not that there is no FIN ; the wing is akin to a HORTEN in its profile and lift distribution. It lacks a bit of pitch with roll autority and I had to add transparent plastic sheet for increasing that otherwise, I can't turn sharp without loosing altitude. Use a 6 blades prop to get very quiet and you can fly in any park even with people around since there is no danger at all (mine is 80 gr AUW)

I flew a different one in the same weight class a few years ago. Great fun, but don't try to fly micro wings LOS unless you have 20/20 vision!
