    You don't have to remove the top bolt from the caliper,only remove the lower one and it will just pull up...10 min tops

    • @mechanicallyinclined2715
      @mechanicallyinclined2715  ปีที่แล้ว +12

      You should remove the top bolt, too. These bolts have to be greased... if you don't grease them, they will eventually get jammed, and you will have to replace the bolts after fighting them for whole day ... all that time you saved will be for nothing ...

    It helps if you turn the wheel towards you, gives easier access behind the caliper

      I don’t like sticking my head in wheel wells specially when my only safety point is the jack itself

    This is 60% an excellent video and 40% is a disaster and the disaster is that guys to eliminate vibration or any complication is your brake system go to the nearest parts shop and take out the rotor and ask them if they could resurface it for you the price tag goes between 10 to 40 bucksgive that money get your rotor as a brand new put it back in again and install the brake pads and push back your piston and everything

  • @imbogfootstrato
    @imbogfootstrato 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    not bad. but you should always get the rotors resurfaced by orielys, a resurfacing shop or buy new rotors. those brake pads are not gonna seat in properly. which in return they dont last as long and warping occurs quicker. plus you dont stop as good. its just more money down the drain and should be done right the first time

    • @stefanchulakov5682
      @stefanchulakov5682 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      the tool is called "disk brake pad spreader" and the fluid on the bolt should be "anti-seize lubricant"

    • @stefanchulakov5682
      @stefanchulakov5682 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      also the other way to do it is you putting 1 of the old brake pads on the caliper and hit with hammer!

  • @rafaelvictoria8593
    @rafaelvictoria8593 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Is it Necessary to push in the piston like you did in the first caliper ? ( studying ur video getting ready to do my own breaks on my 18 Camry)

    • @mechanicallyinclined2715
      @mechanicallyinclined2715  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you have to press them in otherwise new brake pads won't go on the rotors easily

  • @seanstrickley3992
    @seanstrickley3992 ปีที่แล้ว

    Ok well before u do anything disengage the brake system guys. Get in the car the parking brake in middle console u have to click up 3 times then down 3 times on the 3rd time clicking down hold it till the parking light blinks slowly on the dash and then do your brakes then when done do this again to reengage brakes

    • @mechanicallyinclined2715

      You should remove both bolts and grease the caliper pin every time... they start to fade the brakes unevenly if you don't... and if you saw the video i had the camera on stand a few times too but to show the bolts or things closely I have to handle the camera...
