  • Kevin Harvick has become one of NASCAR’s elite drivers since joining forces with Stewart-Haas Racing in 2014. He immediately had immense success with 5 wins and a championship in his first go with the 4 team. In 2015 he looked to do it again and had a strong case to get it done. But, in the end, could not do it. This is the story of Kevin Harvick’s 2015 season. This is his missing ring.

      Im still pissed about that one... If he wasnt there on that final restart and wrecked the field, Dale Jr mightve actually made it to the final four for once. Probably still wouldnt have won it, but you never know... You'd be surprised how much a difference just still being in the fight can change how you play it.

      This is what I hated about the Brian France era of NASCAR. NASCAR was very contradicting on its rules. It was established in 2014 that all Chase Grid drivers had to start every race to be eligible for the Chase. Then they changed that to every driver had to attempt to start every race when Denny Hamlin had to sit out a race with flu-like symptoms. Then they straight up started giving out waivers like it was free candy. Look, we might not like a lot of the changes between 2004 and 2018, but my point is that if you're going to make a change, follow through with it. Brian France was truly a failure.

      I’ve been a Harvick fan since ‘05, but I give Kyle total credit for earning the title. If a dude who broke his leg can drive well enough to advance through the playoffs a few months later, give it to the man. No problems with Kyle getting a waiver. No one probably thought he’d do that well a few months removed from having a bone sticking out of his leg.

      @@danielwest9955 As I said, though, I am not mad at Kyle Busch for winning the title that year. That's his job. What I keep emphasizing as to why I got upset is with NASCAR. As impressive as Kyle's drive was in 2015, it should not have been for the championship. Not under the circumstances that it fell under.

    • @Tylnorton
      @Tylnorton 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I'm a Harvick fan, I have to give NASCAR props for making the decision. Busch didn't even miss a third of the season. He only missed 11 races which is still a good amount. Busch missed 11 races because of an injury that NASCAR was fully responsible for and that was failure to keep the drivers safe and not putting up safer barriers. By rule all Kyle needed to do was remain 30th or better in points with a win, and that's what he did. Going from there, Kyle did what did Kyle was best.

    As a harvick fan the playoffs have always been so painful. Without them Harvick would probably have won 2015, 2016 (maybe), 2018 (would be very close between busch and harvick), and easily 2020. He wouldn’t have won 2014 but i would gladly trade that for the others.

    Harvick was very unlucky to get only 3 wins that season. Realistically, he should've had like 6-7.
    Dominated Michigan before he cut a tire, just 19 laps to go before the race ended due to rain. Led most laps at Watkins Glen before running out of gas on the last lap. Dominated Loudon before running out of gas with 3 to go. Dominated Phoenix before caution came out during cycle of green-flag stops, and before he could get back to the front, rain ended the race.

    I know this is a late comment on this video but the reason Kevin Harvick did what he did in the fall 2015 race, wrecking Bayne was because nascar is doing exactly what they are doing now, in 2022 going full entertainment. There technically should have never been another restart. This led to the mysterious overtime line that was placed wherever NASCAR thought it should be placed at the time when they wanted another caution to come out. I’m a diehard nascar fan, but nascar continues to pick and chose what calls are convenient for entertainment.

    Missing Rings: Jimmie Johnson 2015
    Tbh if he didn't have his problem at Dover he could have made the final four. As long as he made the round of 8 his win at Texas puts him in the Four.

    I don't know about anyone else, but for me 2015 was a low point for Nascar. It was impossible to get over all the BS that happened that year. It legit felt like Nascar was biased for Logano and Harvick (especially Logano), and the whole nonsense with Kyle Busch winning the title only racing 25 races, this year is one I'd rather forget.

    The most bullshit season ever in NASCAR. I bet if anyone besides a Toyota driver had been in Kyle Busch's position NASCAR would've said "tough shit". This season is exactly why I gave up on this sport. Harvick and the #4 team earned that championship without a bullshit playoff format.... and no I don't hate Toyota, I think it's awesome they're in NASCAR competing with Chevrolet, Ford, & Dod.... oh fuck wait lol

    Kevin harvick he will win back to back championship & I said many times missing rings:kevin harvick 2015 but good the iceberg in this new video this would be him under the old points system he is 22 points ahead of him joey logano but in the last race at homestead he will get him in 8 laps to go that is kyle busch but he pulled away the defending champion kevin harvick & then kyle busch wins the homestead & win for the championship missing 11 races. but still makes many wonder what if kevin harvick he is a strong car until the last lap at homestead

    That Talladega incident is why I don’t like Harvick and will never respect him. I have no doubt in my mind that he did that on purpose because thats who he is.

    • @nascarfanatic2425
      @nascarfanatic2425 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      In Harvick's defense, though, he wouldn't have had to do it had it not been for the stupid Chase Grid format. He would've mathematically won the championship had there been no Chase. Also, Harvick wouldn't have likely done it if they didn't change the Green-White-Checkered/Overtime rule for that race. I blame NASCAR more for that finish being ruined than I do Harvick. Specifically, Brian France. AKA King Oxycontin.
