So beautiful I love to learn from other cultures....I felt her pain when she could not fish more fish...as a farmer when I lose my crops due to the lack of rain I feel so sad too. Thank you to whoever posted this informative video.

28:10 when the father spoke on the Cameron saying " the camerons used to take care of us even without fish we couldn't sell the comerons who once brought us fish now it's up to us to take care of them" my heart swelled with pride for there culture however hard or strenuous I love to fish and they fish for life itself RESPECT!🙏🏻

A very intelligent, deeply sensitive video about the lives of some fisher families along the Mekong river. Despite their many hardships, we see them retain their optimism, their caring, and perhaps most of all, their dignity.

The mother has incredible resilience. It must be so hard to see your family loosing faith, crying and saddened when they were were fishing with little yield. Yet she pushed on. She would make a great leader.

The guy trying to start a Fish Farm was truly inspiring. He remained so positive after all his fish died referring to it as, The only way to learn and when asked why doesn`t he look for another job his reply, I really want to succeed , I must do everything necessary to fulfill my dream , I wont give up until I succeed. And thanks to his perseverance he bloody well did succeed. Well done that man and much respect to you

The Lao and Thai people are originated in China, tracing back for 4000 years. Back then they were one people, and for hundreds and thousands of years they were moving south, which they found Laos (Lan Cang as what Chinese called the Mekong, but in Laos people called LAN Cang or LAN Xang as million elephants, which is the old name of the country) and Thailand.

I feel so happy that Rivers sourcing from Tibet feeds millions of families in our neighbor countries all the way to Pacific Ocean. Tibet is the resource of Major rivers in Asia. politically, economically and socially Rivers are one of the most important resource of the countries and its peoples lives.
Mekong River is the one which floods through Laos, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam all the way to Ocean.
But we have 8 great Rivers sourced in Himalayas in Tibet.
The great Indus River which flows by Pakistan.
The great Ganges River which flows by India.
The great Brahmaputra River which flows by Bangladesh.
The great Salween River which flows by Burma.
The great Yangtse River which flows by China.
The great Yellow River which flows by China also.
The great Mekong River which flows by by 5 countries. Starting from Tibet through China, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam all the way to Ocean.

Enjoy this video and learn a lot from your life style: hard working, thrift, disciplined and enjoy life's reward and hardship. Hunting and conservation are two sides of the same coin. Learn to harvest and to raise in the river just as you do on land. Make a few regulations that benefit all. Good luck !

l lived in this village for 8 months studying the language and teaching English, there are plenty of fish for the locals to live on and sell, the problem is the fishetman don't want to adapt to different fishing methods. l live with a family and the trade off was teaching there children English and providing there family fish to eat and sell. l used a cane pole, hooks and cut up fish as bait. the local fisherman were amazed and angry at the same time with the amount of fish l would catch in a short amount of time. do away with the custom of using birds adapt and you will prosper

Lao, Vietnam, Campuchia, The Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, etc. all tropical countries: tourists should avoid forests, jungles, lakes, ponds, creeks, rivers, etc because there are countless ANOPHELES (Malaria transmitted mosquitoes). Very high risk of catching MALARIA. Malaria is difficult to cure, and even after being cured, the patients are not allowed to donate blood and organs.

If you catch your fish, you sell your own fish and get more money. Don't whole sell to someone who could make a lot more money than you. Pollution will always be a factor and it's up to the people to reduce the cause of it. If you don't care now, the river won"t care for the future.
