This people work very hard very poor peoples good fishing and lots of healthy meal for food and fresh fruits vegetables and lots of healthy food thank you for sharing . Horrible job planting rice I know how they plant in so bad condition this is why. I don,t throw any rice away if any left I give it to my dog or birds thanks .
I admire that, not wasting food, either give away or make into another dish. You are a good example of consumers that are conscious and aware of third world struggles. The sources are limited the farmers have to live without and improvise but they are humble unlike Western or materialistic ways. It’s the simple life Mekong is essential for families and trade.
The Mekong is one of the great rivers of the world. Born at 5000 meters altitude in the Tibetan Plateau and after crossing China, Burma, Thailand, enters in Laos and Cambodia to die in the China Sea, South of Vietnam.
Very nice symphony as back ground of this video, this video like a large scale wide screen and good quality film, also the explanation is very clear. I like it.
Hermosos videos que grande es Dios que está la tecnología para ver que tan grande es el mundo que hay gente en los lugares que uno no sabe gracias por este video
I have stood in many of the places shown, and know how hard these people must work to live. Please take this seriously, and do your best to support and protect the people along the Maenam Kong, and the river itself.
I feel so happy that Rivers sourcing from Tibet feeds millions of families in our neighbor countries all the way to Pacific Ocean. Tibet is the resource of Major rivers in Asia. politically, economically and socially Rivers are one of the most important resource of the countries and its peoples lives. Mekong River is the one which floods through Laos, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam all the way to Ocean. But we have 8 great Rivers sourced in Himalayas in Tibet. The great Indus River which flows by Pakistan. The great Ganges River which flows by India. The great Brahmaputra River which flows by Bangladesh. The great Salween River which flows by Burma. The great Yangtse River which flows by China. The great Yellow River which flows by China also. The great Mekong River which flows by by 5 countries. Starting from Tibet through China, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam all the way to Ocean.
Thongsouk Sengchansavang Destroying it? Building dams is very good way to generate lots of money for the country and it people and also prevent drought so farmers can farms theirs lands all year round.
@@peakarach7051 - LOL - God had the perfect plan for everything, and unfortunately in decided to make man, in His own imagine, however man is so far from that God wanted that I am sure God has many sorrows.
My Thai friend called the river “Khong” and I said, “You mean Mekong?” She then corrected me, “Mae Nam Khong.” It seems Mae means mother, Nam means water and Khong is an ancient word meaning big river. So “Mae Nam Khong” translates to “Mother Of All Rivers” or “Mother Of All Waters”. It seems foreigners corrupted the name to Mekong. The word Khlong means a canal and is much smaller. Great video, I wish it was in 4K; I suspect that video compression has reduced the final technical quality to something more like 576p rather than the claimed 720p.
It seems that you and your friend think that Mekong is a Thai{lLao} river only... The "foreigners" from South Vietnam are clearly pronouncing the name of the river as Me Kong, the Khmer in Cambodia are calling it Mekong{k} and so on. The name of that river and its meaning in Thai is quite poetic for sure but for the most people living on and from the river so to speak the name is Mekong.
My father was a fisherman and late mother was a rice farmer. Owning any piece of land or field is important for future generations but it kept the children alive hopefully not turn their back on their heritage when they become adults. It’s hard over there, but in America immigrant kids grew up taking the good life for granted and disrespect their parents journey to flee extreme poverty. I don’t want to get too deep and cynical but the harshness of both worlds are night and day. We don’t know how the others live until we are educated.
Thank you for the meaningful shooting from the rice planting to harvesting of the rice. I realize that this is not an easy task to do and to present it to your viewers. It is İNVALUABLE... Thank you.
So I'm glad to see for this time if it to be possible, Aha! This video for 7 years ago, but now! I don't sure to Mekong river or Mae Nam Khong to still be good for today 🤔🤔
If anyone can help me to find out how recently this nice documentary was made? Today Mekong river is far from what I see here, river is very low now and hardly any fishing
Some of the music accompanying this video sounds like Kitaro, I wonder if that is the case. I just read the notes, I was right, many of them are Kitaro. Beautiful.
Mekong River Agreement signed by Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam and Laos. What about China. Hasn’t China been restricting the flow of the Mekong River into Laos? Btw very well done with a spirit lifting ending with hope
My country government unfourtunately have been mislead and the Chinese and Thailand wealthy have changed its eco system and it's beauty. By the time I go back to visit, I'm afraid it will never be the same.
From Vietnam, Lao, Thailand belongs to Cambodia land, the third Buddha was born 1000 years before the first century, the powerful Buddha in the planet.
The point of a video is to see things. It is not to have things hinted at, and not be able to see them properly. I have seen the Mekong river in five different countries. It would have been nice to see it.
Cambodian have natural resources and natural beauty. It's a beautiful country, but the governments are destroying it. They allowed illegal loggers in the forests. Sad!

Muito bom documentário, só achei triste a pobreza e os elephantes escravizados a carregar tanto peso das madeiras.
Music always interrupts learning process watching video. Thank you informative video

"There are more poor people than rich people" says it all, hey?
