Hey Jang. Lego customer service is generally pretty good, so if you ask them I'm sure they'll send you the wonky R2 head print that your set was clearly meant to have.
Can confirm, I asked for a single replacement part for the Boutique hotel, and they sent me like 4 versions of the missing piece even after I said I only needed 1😅
Looks really nice, the level of details on the death star is fantastic but not for $60. Also, a thing I can’t stop thinking is how much of a dust magnet and the pain to clean it must be.
@@MrFailTrailer The relevancy of the price to part ratio metric has been diminished somewhat over the years with how small the finished build of the sets have become as well as the abundance of tiny pieces. The amount of people still using the price to part ratio to defend and justify these ridiculously high prices are lying to themselves if they claim this is fairly priced.
I think out of all 3 diorama sets the Dagobah one seems to be the best of the bunch, the amount of transparent green 1x1 tiles the muddy R2D2 and Luke figure plus a Yoda figure. It is also more vibrant and lively in it's shape and presentation.
I think if you had a block on concrete to display the set on, you would experience these sets the way Lego 'wanted', making the price 100% justified :)
For that price the Xwing could have moved with the Xwings. If the ones go left, the Xwing goes right. Just connected with a straight bar in the base with a double gear for the alternative movements. Missed opportunity !
I couldn't agree more! Of the three diorama sets this was immediately my favorite, but not at this price. Luckily I have already seen it discounted to €50, but I'd love to see it drop quite a bit more before I buy it.
With these dioramas and helmets, I feel Lego's pricing strategy is not about a standard value (as measured against other sets) but rather "This is how much we think we can charge that collectors will pay." Not a complaint, just a thought. I think it's a great looking set but ultimately I'm not interested at that price.
I know you mention in the title that it should be half the price, but I love and it really helps me a lot when in your videos you say how much you would pay for a set with two or three different ranges depending on how much you would stretch the price
This is my favourite of the 3. I built this and dagobah today and aesthetically this looks best to me. Has the sense of action/motion the others don’t. My two cents,
The set looks nice, but personally I think the set 76832 you did review some days ago has a lot more value and the space ship looks very good, it reminds me of old ms-Dos games.
I love this set and plan to buy it on May 1st - to get the promo stuff. I already have Luke's X-Wing from last year and the Red-5 helmet, and this diorama will look great on the shelf next to them.
I went to Spain for holiday and found this set and it was a lot cheaper than back home in England. So I got it. So glad I didn’t get overcharged and can’t wait to build it
I had that same problem with the lego Mustang. The white stripe piece that was part of the door was faded out and it stick out when you put it in. I went to customer support on the lego site. I was able to get a replacement piece. It was a polished white stripe piece. I think I ended up with a set with the white stripe that was not polished enough.
$40 max for the amount of ‘stuffs’. I like this mini scale scenes :) The new one makes the 2020 one look like it’s from the 90’s! (Yes I know it’s GWP, but still..)
I think it was a flashback suppressor or something sci-fi named, apparently it stops overcharged laser bolts from backfiring? Still the one piece Lego has refused to make special for X-Wing sets despite being the FIRST SET from Star Wars 23 years ago. Come on Lego, a little u-shaped 1x2 piece is all we want.
The sai pieces from Ninjago are pretty great for representing the flashback supressor on minifigure scale X-wings, but I agree, they really should make a little 1x2 curved pieces. There would be a lot of use out of them besides just X-wings!
I´d love more cutaway sets like this, like there could be an underground metro station with a level on top and a portion of the station visible underground, all kinds of things. Also cross sections of things work well, like on the Titanic set
I only bought it as a greebling exercise...(as a newcomer), think that in this case you can do endless reMOCs by rearranging the greebles, or buying new small parts...it's a great training how to greeble and what parts one should buy...so in that sense it differs from the other more static kits which are harder to reMOC.
Phew! Another set I can skip and put the cash towards the Delorean.... I was worried this summer would make me broke, but your reviews have really helped inform my choices! Cheers!
I like how u tell it how it is. No boot licking. Thats why i only watch your videos and not other reviewers. I am more than willing to spend any amount of money as long as the set is worth it. I would gladly pay $40 for this set. What do you think of the Lego tow truck 42128? I think that set is an extremely good value.
the greeble (how do you spell that?) off the side is fantastic! it gives it the feeling that it has ben ripped out of the whole bigger thing, like pipes that couldn't be cut perfectly into a square! such a nice looking set. Also would've been cool to see those barraki bionicle eyes instead of the pink gems for the thrusters, might have looked less gem like?
It is pretty clear that Lego is trying to increase the profit margin for this line of products, if not profit margin in general as a "luxury brand". It is only a matter of time before we get used to the new premium pricing.
this looks great. now I'm thinking griebling should be included in cheaper (much cheaper) sets that are for kids or teens to kinda teach them a bit how to use these parts in this way to incorporate into their own little customs
It sucks that the main talking point on every new Lego set is the price. Where is the $60 in value here? Nevermind comparing it to other things you could buy for $60, you could buy way better Lego sets for $60. It's just extortion at this point.
this really should have come with a pilot Luke and pilot Vader minifigs on a little separate stand. I think that would have alleviated the complaints about the price and made a lot more people happy and probably sold quite a few more of this set.
For context, this retails at the same price as the 75316 Mandalorian Starfighter and is 20% more costly than the recent downsized (but still very cool) versions of Luke Skywalker's X-Wing and Boba Fett's Slave I. And all of those have been, or are, discounted. Which is a huge shame because we all agree, the dioramas are fantastic looking, but far too expensive for how small they are overall and there's simply much better value Star Wars sets (which is already not common to begin with) around for the price, never mind better sets in general.
Looks neat if way overpriced. I don't like how they did the X-Wing engines though when they should be placed on the sides of the fuselage and not directly behind. I feel some of the micro builds from the Star Wars advent calendars or polybags have done a better job capturing a more accurate X-Wing.
I can’t get over the fact it’s not a kinetic sculpture. I don’t have to be a Lego expert to imagine a simple mechanism to make the ships move up and down a little bit. Price would still be insane though.
these are standard retail right? So like the helmets they’ll likely be 20-30% off in the next year if you can be patient. I can’t be patient unfortunately
I think this time I follow the advice you gave some weeks ago and not buy this because being overpriced. Did buy the degobah diorama though, which is almost worth the price.
I would pay this much if it was a bundle of two scenes. Like, this and the Trash Compactor set would be good. They’re from the same movie so there’s no “2/3 of a trilogy” problem.
This is a very well looking and very well designed set however, the price is high compared to the size of the set and number of parts. Great review though. Thank you.
That thing looks cool, but too tiny for the price. I’d have to get super close to it in a room to even see it properly. If i had guests, they wouldn’t even know it’s in the room 😂
Gotta say, I am in awe over the level of greebling on this set. That alone is a very compelling reason to pick this up. Bit of shame the price feels so high...
I enjoy your material! Price aside, is this the most Greebling (Wikipedia spelling) per square inch that lego has released? Maybe for the non collector / one time lego buyer the price isn’t the hardest pill to swallow.
Yes, expensive. But I felt a really strong emotional connection to this set. So I cashed in VIP points and went for it. I a year I think I’ll look at the set and be happy and not remember the cost.
That price is way too high especially since would want to have 3 of them to convert them into a longer piece.... But maybe this inspires me to build that on my own, having a lot of the bricks already I can just buy whatever I need (I don't mind not having the special quote tile)
These are extremely overpriced in Canada. These are finally a sub line in the Lego Star Wars theme, that in my opinion, aren’t going to sell well anywhere.
I really do think their 18+ line is specifically created so adult fans turn off their "but it's a toy!" objections when paying through the nose for toys. Even if this is a great display piece for adult collectors! That 18+ badge will turn people's minds off of the value proposition. Hell, they might even feel it justifies the price.
It's nice....but yeah, not $60 nice. That being said i did get one ( as well as the trash compactor and dagobah scene sets as well.....which are also over priced). Thing is that Lego has a specific target demographic for this and those other sets and that demographic can afford the price point and they're not going to balk too much at it because these are iconic scenes that we grew up with. You're not getting this set for a youngster to play with. It's going to get built and displayed at home or the office at work.
Hey Jang. Lego customer service is generally pretty good, so if you ask them I'm sure they'll send you the wonky R2 head print that your set was clearly meant to have.
LOL
Can confirm, I asked for a single replacement part for the Boutique hotel, and they sent me like 4 versions of the missing piece even after I said I only needed 1😅

Also, a thing I can’t stop thinking is how much of a dust magnet and the pain to clean it must be.
just fire a missile into the exhaust port, cleans right up!
that's why I keep these in glass cabinets
The other 2 Diorama sets have the same problem, they’re all fantastic models but the price is just WAAAYYY off.
The price per piece ratios are also really deceptive, considering the small pieces used in all those sets
@@MrFailTrailer price to part isn’t everything. I don’t use it to figure out the value.
Dagobah one seems fine. Other 2 definitely overpriced.
Same with the Darth Vader Meditation Chamber set as a precursor to this dioramas. That feels like most of the value came from building the stand.
@@MrFailTrailer The relevancy of the price to part ratio metric has been diminished somewhat over the years with how small the finished build of the sets have become as well as the abundance of tiny pieces.

Jang's face and mannerisms when he says "yeah" at the end then waves is the most genuine reaction
I think if you had a block on concrete to display the set on, you would experience these sets the way Lego 'wanted', making the price 100% justified :)
But only if you sat in a couch 30 feet away and read a magazine while at it
The arches near the tip of the x-wing laser cannons are known as magnetic flashback suppressors, they prevent the laser cannon from backfiring
You’ve been killing it with reviews lately Jang. I wake up and always hope you’ve posted a new one
"Grieble Monster": my favorite word of the day.
This would make a nice band name! 😄
"Nah... naahhh..." Thanks, Jang!
Years later I still love your honest reviews
For that price the Xwing could have moved with the Xwings. If the ones go left, the Xwing goes right. Just connected with a straight bar in the base with a double gear for the alternative movements. Missed opportunity !
Keep up the high quality, honest reviews.
I always appreciate your honest reviews. I know on your channel that I can get an unbiased opinion.

Love your stuff jang don’t stop!
Thanks Jang. I like it more than just a kitchen.🤠

Fantastic set, shocking price. Completely agree, a discount is required before this set is even a consideration.
So glad I didn’t get overcharged and can’t wait to build it
Most of the parts in this set can be found in your spare parts pile from other sets. 👍
Good review Jang.
The tie fighters have really good detail for its scale. Would look really nice in a moc with the UCS Star Destoryer
I honestly believe at this point you will probably (almost) never hear a Lego youtuber say they agree with the price point 😂
Very curious what the price of the parts would be off bricklink or even bricks and pieces just to get a sense of how overpriced this really is.
Thanks for calling out the price Jang felt that too
Agree completely! Great design, will buy at half the price. Awesome review as always, keep it up.
$40 max for the amount of ‘stuffs’. I like this mini scale scenes :)
The new one makes the 2020 one look like it’s from the 90’s! (Yes I know it’s GWP, but still..)
Gonna replace those with the micro fighters so can have minifigs too
Everyone: These prices are too much, you can't really ask us to pay this much money!
Lego: I'm altering the deal. Pray, I don't alter it any further.
Thanks for the comparison with the old DS2 set. That's the one thing I've not seen yet that I was curious about.
This title sums up how everyone feels 🤣😂🤣
I think it was a flashback suppressor or something sci-fi named, apparently it stops overcharged laser bolts from backfiring? 6:10 i’d say its inspired of the muzzle brakes of American tanks like the M1 Abrams
Great review! Pretty sure this can be made with current available bricks and for a lot less than 60 bucks!
This is so detailed, I love it. I might get it if it's at the right discount.
I only bought it as a greebling exercise...(as a newcomer), think that in this case you can do endless reMOCs by rearranging the greebles, or buying new small parts...it's a great training how to greeble and what parts one should buy...so in that sense it differs from the other more static kits which are harder to reMOC.
I too bought this even though it's expensive for the part count w/o Minifigs. Your reviews and incite are much appreciated. Thx.
I absolutely love this! I love it! But the price is super YIKES.
Phew! Another set I can skip and put the cash towards the Delorean.... I was worried this summer would make me broke, but your reviews have really helped inform my choices! Cheers!
Hey Jang! nice review!
Funny to think that a lot of those pieces that make up the detailing of the trench first appeared in other Star Wars sets
the greeble (how do you spell that?) off the side is fantastic! it gives it the feeling that it has ben ripped out of the whole bigger thing, like pipes that couldn't be cut perfectly into a square! such a nice looking set. I actually really like the set. It was fun to put together and looks nice
And I heard this is going up
to $70 on August 1st.
The Death Star Turbolaser looks like the Mk 28 Mod 2 5"/38 caliber guns on the USS New Jersey
It is pretty clear that Lego is trying to increase the profit margin for this line of products, if not profit margin in general as a "luxury brand". It is only a matter of time before we get used to the new premium pricing.
The Onion could use this set in an article titled, "Lego thinks prices are reasonable, pwease give them 60 dollars for this."
I feel the X-Wing is way too large in comparison to the ties.
How does the printing on the Star Wars logo piece compare to the one from the mosaic (31200)?
I bet 2 or three of these would make a real good diorama if a somewhat expensive one
this looks great. now I'm thinking griebling should be included in cheaper (much cheaper) sets that are for kids or teens to kinda teach them a bit how to use these parts in this way to incorporate into their own little customs
I totally agree. Great looking scene, bad pricing. 40/45 would be better.
I’m in the same boat, it looks great, build looks fun and satisfying, but dat price doe 😢😰🫣
It sucks that the main talking point on every new Lego set is the price. Where is the $60 in value here? Nevermind comparing it to other things you could buy for $60, you could buy way better Lego sets for $60. It's just extortion at this point.
Yes, I politely told Lego I wouldn't be purchasing this set and they sent Moose and Rocco to my house and roughed me up.
this really should have come with a pilot Luke and pilot Vader minifigs on a little separate stand. I think that would have alleviated the complaints about the price and made a lot more people happy and probably sold quite a few more of this set.
Maybe it’s just me, but my eyes just deflect right off the monotone texturing of this, like my eyes just get bored looking at it! :p
For context, this retails at the same price as the 75316 Mandalorian Starfighter and is 20% more costly than the recent downsized (but still very cool) versions of Luke Skywalker's X-Wing and Boba Fett's Slave I. And all of those have been, or are, discounted.

I have to wonder why the Death Star walls are as intricate as they are.
Just call it the mouse house tax ;)
Looks neat if way overpriced. I don't like how they did the X-Wing engines though when they should be placed on the sides of the fuselage and not directly behind. I feel some of the micro builds from the Star Wars advent calendars or polybags have done a better job capturing a more accurate X-Wing.
Could you buy the parts off of brinklink for cheaper?
I can’t get over the fact it’s not a kinetic sculpture. I don’t have to be a Lego expert to imagine a simple mechanism to make the ships move up and down a little bit.
Price would still be insane though.
Should be $40
It should’ve had the exhaust port and proton torpedo
these are standard retail right? So like the helmets they’ll likely be 20-30% off in the next year if you can be patient. I can’t be patient unfortunately
They know their audience will buy it anyway.
I think this time I follow the advice you gave some weeks ago and not buy this because being overpriced. Did buy the degobah diorama though, which is almost worth the price.
Have fun dusting it off
It’s weird that R2’s head is the same size as a whole tie cockpit
I would pay this much if it was a bundle of two scenes. Like, this and the Trash Compactor set would be good. They’re from the same movie so there’s no “2/3 of a trilogy” problem.
This is a very well looking and very well designed set however, the price is high compared to the size of the set and number of parts.
Great review though. Thank you.
would it be worth it for $50? because that is how much it is right now in my local amazon.
That thing looks cool, but too tiny for the price. I’d have to get super close to it in a room to even see it properly. If i had guests, they wouldn’t even know it’s in the room 😂
Alright lego, you can stop now, you made a good one.
Funnily enough, as someone who lives in Australia, the price on the official site is $89.99. Nah.
Gotta say, I am in awe over the level of greebling on this set. That alone is a very compelling reason to pick this up. Bit of shame the price feels so high...
The scale between the ties and the x-wing looks pretty off. The ties are to small, especially Vaders.
agree with the others here nice set buy to expensive
This most me a pain to remover the dust
I enjoy your material! Price aside, is this the most Greebling (Wikipedia spelling) per square inch that lego has released? Maybe for the non collector / one time lego buyer the price isn’t the hardest pill to swallow.
Overpriced like a lot of Lego sets. You're absolutely right about that.
Yes, expensive. But I felt a really strong emotional connection to this set. So I cashed in VIP points and went for it. I a year I think I’ll look at the set and be happy and not remember the cost.
This "diorama collection" is a really beautiful idea...
BUT...
Too much overpriced!
🥶🤦🏻♂️
👍👋
That price is way too high especially since would want to have 3 of them to convert them into a longer piece.... But maybe this inspires me to build that on my own, having a lot of the bricks already I can just buy whatever I need (I don't mind not having the special quote tile)
These are extremely overpriced in Canada. These are finally a sub line in the Lego Star Wars theme, that in my opinion, aren’t going to sell well anywhere.
Agree on the overpriced plastic. For this set!👍
Definitely overpriced but it's the only thing they have done on this tiny scale that really appeals - really like it!
wow, that's small
Nice set, too pricey for sure with the 18+ tax.
I'm kinda tired of almost every set being over priced I would pay 40$ max for this without seeing it in person
