2x olympian. 3x olympic champion. 2012 olympic all around champion. 2x world champion. world champion silver medalist in the all around. this just goes to show hard work and determination will get you anywhere!! never give up 🏅
Wow I remember seeing this when I was 13 right before London and then goes onto turning it all around, building herself up mentally and turning out to be the top gymnast that quad. She really rose like a phoenix from the ashes that year, so happy to see it again still all the years later
All of us GymnasticFreaks will comment on form, deductions, our favorites, our least favorites and can sometimes seem to be very harsh in our criticism. But it's performances like this that remind us that these are superior athletes and what they're doing is something that only a select few can do. Gabby Douglas is one of the greats and even she sometimes has to bow to the power of the beam. Respect always. 🙏🏾
I remember watching nationals 2011 and thinking "this girl isn't bad but I don't think she's going to go to the Olympics." I was so wrong! :P Gabby Douglas really grew-in 2012 she really showed us her true colors of being a fantastic gymnast!
This girl is your 2012 Olympic all-around champion. Let this routine be a reminder to all coaches, commentators, and fans to not immediately discount a gymnast that appears to be a headcase. Thank GOD that people continued to believe in Gabby Douglas...
@nchllltmr She was injured at this meet, so hadn't been able to train and get the numbers. By the time she got to worlds, she was further into her recovery. She'd also been solid in other competitions last year before she got injured. The fact that she kept going AND improved by Day 2 says a lot for her.
...and we sent her to worlds. i hope she can pull it together. i feel like she has some potential but i honestly havent really seen it realized to the point that i trust her in 2012 to represent well at the olympics, maybe shell get it together, hope so
@jyosefr i did. yes she did hit those days, so thats good. i mean well take the win however we can get it, i just dont trust her consistency. but then again who am i to have to trust her? martha's job. i was just very surprised to see both her and sabrina there and no mackenzie caquatto. not that the other two are bad, i just thought mack was a little more mature, solid, etc. but again, i have no idea haha
@candidt if they raised the olympic age to 18 most gymnasts hit their peaks at age 16 or earlier by 18 it could be to late. Like what if the age was 18 someone like jorydn wieber wouldn't be able to compete, and she's hitting her peak now and to mess with something like that would be foolish to so gymnastics you have to be young a lot of the older gymnasts are fantastic but they hit their peaks long before that. and jordyn and gabby are their best hope at gold and they are under 18
She looked she she had just got done crying before she started....or like she was about to cry. Poor girl. The balance beam isn't her strongest competetion. I'm glad she didn't let it get her spirits down though. Look at Shawn Johnson....she fell how many times on the balance beam? But then she won gold on the balance beam. Gabby could do the same thing. She is a true champion.
GABY DOUGLAS, YOU WORE THAT RED ARTISTIC GYMNASTIC LEOTARD ONLY DECREASE YOUR BEAUTY !!! ALRIGHT, YOU'RE PRETTY ENOUGH. AND YOU HAD HIGH SELF CONFIDENCE. CONGRATULATION !!!
I am literally watching the movie right now! Even though she messed up at the visa championships, she is still my favorite gymnast!!🏅
Same!
Gymnastics Lover me too
2x olympian. 3x olympic champion. 2012 olympic all around champion. 2x world champion. world champion silver medalist in the all around. this just goes to show hard work and determination will get you anywhere!! never give up 🏅
And possibly coming back AGAIN!
Many won't believe that this young girl is your 2012 Olympic All Around Champ, but this shows how much she has grown :)

I thought exactly the same thing. Little did we know… Olympic AA Queen and a three time gold medalist plus many other accolades.
This girl is your 2012 Olympic all-around champion. Let this routine be a reminder to all coaches, commentators, and fans to not immediately discount a gymnast that appears to be a headcase.
Thank GOD that people continued to believe in Gabby Douglas...
I could never. The muscle memory, balance, jumps and blind landings. I have so much respect for gymnasts
Honestly I love the movie someday I hope to be like Gabby Douglas
It's alright we all have our off days
From where she came from to what she achieved is nothing more than pure self belief, talent and a desire to conquer.
You see, in life, its not about how much you fall, but its about how you pick yourself up. Olympic Champion now. Wow
Literally just came from watching the movie and I was like oh I have to see this
this is exactly what the buy said on the movie
**guy
They took the clip and put it in the movie execpt the girl in green screen
Gymnast Aaliyah kk thanks
Never ever ever give up....olympic champion
She has come so far since then. I'm so glad she's going to London! :)
There are bumps in the road but one must persevere. Gabby did it!
This was the one when she didn't do so well. She really is an amazing, inspiring, and talented person.
I would feel great! Shows how far hard work, dedication and belief can take you :)
How would you feel if someone told you that's the olympic all around champion after watching this...
gabby was injured!

I heard she was injured with a hamstring injury, for her to still come 7th, she was very strong minded
the third fall looked a little bit like it hurt :(
@nchllltmr Did you see her at worlds? She was solid!
That last fall looked painful. I've fell like that before and it hurts!
...and we sent her to worlds. i hope she can pull it together. i feel like she has some potential but i honestly havent really seen it realized to the point that i trust her in 2012 to represent well at the olympics, maybe shell get it together, hope so
she did !
Oh did this age well!!
Poor Gabby! She fell 3 times!!!
she peaked at the right time!
Score
11.450
Just goes to show how far she's grown

Wow Gabby has come a long way since this. But she still has consistency issues
well ...i dont think i could even GET up to the beam.
poor gabby and at this point no one even thought that she was going to be a 2x Olympic Gold medalist!
ha look at Shawn( I think) taking a drink at the begg
still better than Komova who easily gave up

That didn’t age well
Agree. That's why Komova's one of my least favorites. Her gymnastics is so pretty, but she gives up SO easily.

VERY GOOD JOB !!
GABY DOUGLAS, YOU WORE THAT RED ARTISTIC GYMNASTIC LEOTARD ONLY DECREASE YOUR BEAUTY !!! ALRIGHT, YOU'RE PRETTY ENOUGH. AND YOU HAD HIGH SELF CONFIDENCE. CONGRATULATION !!!
o.k. everybody if i have not watched the olympics i would not think im looking at the indivitual all-around champion.......
Gabby Douglas is shorter in body height than RICARDO SALAMPESSY.
The commentator is so annoying
