You may not known this, but if you go hard break then hard acceleration, you will turn on "pursuit mode" which basically acts like sport mode. The gears will be held to redline more often to allow for better gas pedal response.
As a cop who drives these, I prefer the previous gen and of course most cops prefer the crown Vic. The transmission whines and shifts like a cvt (I know they don’t “shift”). The front cabin space is pretty similar in both gens but the seating position is very different. I feel more upright in your model and I like the adjusting pedals in the older. The plastic back seat is not roomier. By design they restrict movement to prevent escape attempts and/or destructive behavior. Really curious to see what you end up doing with it. Looks like a fun project.
14:50 - That is power supply for radio and video equipment. Most of the radios are mounted and powered in the back but control head also needs power. 14:53 - Whelen is mounted behind the left rear seat(under floor board) and has a separate power wire under right rear seat. Whelen is using RJ45(ethernet) cable to connect controller with remote. *_PS:_*_ More comments in the previous video._
Something to consider.. These vehicles are notorious for having front and rear PTU issues. PTU is Power Train Unit. I would service the front and rear, drain the gear oil out and replace with fresh. I read using 75w-140 in front due to the heat from exhaust is best. Ford escape has same issues. Ford says lifetime fluid, LMAO.. no oil is lifetime.
Looks great! I also drive a new Tundra, great truck! I used to own the Explorer ST before it so the Explorer has a soft space in my heart. Hopefully I’ll be back in one soon as I start the police academy next week!
I think that "Ethernet" cable was actually the communication cable for the radio (Likely a Motorola). Often the head unit was separate from the brains (which was usually installed in the trunk) for easier installation. The four wires look like power wires, likely for a charger of some kind or the laptop. The Cencom uses either a connector or an RJ-45 connector depending on what the agency used. The loose connectors might be for factory equipment that's non-existent on the police package like a center shifter.
I Love yer content Brother! I Live in Bastrop,Tx. and personally own two Ex Texas State Trooper Crown Vics..2010 & 2011..I Love both of them they are my Babys!!!I woud never evr sell these two! They aren't fast by any means they are cool for sure ..got both of them up to 130 on toll way !took about well..lets just say it took a while! they have 250HP and bout 297 lb ft of trq out of a4.6 litre ford V8 ..but you can beat on them everyday and get in them and drive to where ever you wanna go!! doesnt matter they are Fukin LOyal! My new F150 doesn't start today...its cold..threw my jacket in the 2010! got to work inna jiffy! dual exhaust i put Flowmasters on it sounds great!!
The ethernet cable goes to a siren controller. Mounted in the rear is the siren brain, in the console is the control head. Maybe Whelen or Federal Signal. The antennas are either UHF or Mini UHF antenna connectors for the radios and scanners
I’m from Canada but my family was going to move to Oceanside for work so I’m pretty familiar with it and it’s great to see this golden little city have a bit of a spotlight in this series!
Well your new hatch has the whelen ion brackets hanging down in the rear window area now. All you need is the lights and the plastic covers to go over it and you’ll have some there now too. Should check in the tail lights, might be lights in the reverse area
Do you know where I can get an interceptor badge that is found on the back of these. Ebay and amazon sell the old 90's big letter version and I can not find the new moder version
The electronic hatch button should work without you using the key after you click either the hatch button on the key fob or the hatch button inside the cab within 30 seconds of trying to open it. The button inside is in the center above the center console on the ceiling where the sunglasses holder would normally be.
A while back I had a old police charger and you would be amazed how many people just get out your way. It quickly became my daily driver due to that. It was a dodge so eventually it just gave out but was fun
I have a 2024 explorer limited non interceptor and it has a connector on the drivers side under the hood mid fender that is capped. My understanding is its there for interceptor use. Does yours connect to anything. There is little know about this grey connector rumour has it that its for front light usage
If you want to make the back doors functional again, pull the covers off where the door handles are on the inside. Handles should be there. Remove the door panel, cables will be there to make them operational again.
You can make the car quicker by depressing the brake hard then slamming the gas to the floor. This will active “pursuit mode”. Also, please transfer over the police interceptor badge to the new trunk.
Part of the police package, according to a deputy sheriff friend of mine, is an electromagnet that draws other cars in towards your vehicle. That's why it feels like other drivers are being more speed abiding when around you in that vehicle.
I thought that you're gonna bring the old hatch to some PDR (paintless dent remover) shop to save some bucks. But I think buying second handed one is more worth it in this case. Edit : NVM. I just watched the entire video and I was right lmao. Good decision. Keep up. Subbed.
You should’ve took the BALLISTIC PANEL out of the door on that police interceptor you took the hatch off of at the junkyard🤷IT WAS JUST SITTING THERE 01:16
They sell them cheap because they are junk vehicles. Especially the previous generation V6. If the Government is buying them or selling them you don’t want them.
Like the video. just be careful. you might attract the real police because you are approaching that becoming making it look like a real interceptor they drive. .
@ if there was actual paint damage in addition to the dented areas then yes your option was best. You have to definitely shop around for reputable PDR options and technicians. They are a viable option for dented areas even larger then a dollar.
HMU if you want to install a police grade dash camera in it! Working too. The Panasonic Arbitrator HD. HD video on all 360 degress of the car. I have one
Pleeeeeeeease put the police interceptor badge back onto the tailgate 😭😭
For real i wouldn't mind sending him some either i have a ton of badges from Explorers, Taurus, and vics ive parted out that I'll never use
You may not known this, but if you go hard break then hard acceleration, you will turn on "pursuit mode" which basically acts like sport mode. The gears will be held to redline more often to allow for better gas pedal response.
is that the only way to put the vehicle into that mode or is there also a setting to do it manually on dash/settings?
It’s the only way.
Yeah, I love that feature on my 2019 Taurus interceptor
B r a k e.....
need to try that

I really like the Taurus. I felt that it was a great upgraded crown Vic.
"As a cop who drives these" 😂
Neither of these things are true.
@@drwheycooler8423 How would you know?
My brother in law went from an Impala to the last generation Police Interceptor and now has a Tahoe. I think his favorite was the Explorer
@ I liked the explorer I had but I’ll die on the Crown Vic hill 😂
i love how this is the only video series i've ever enjoyed and the only series that's consistent with uploads
I appreciate it! I try to keep it consistent
@@MarkBrenner What siren system are you putting into that awesome beast?
A 5% sun strip on the windshield would be a nice touch for the unmarked look. Keep people guessing if theres lights behind them or not.
Yeah, I don’t know why they removed that in the first episode
So he doesn't look like top flight security of thee world
omg, I just watches the first vid 10 min ago, I'm wondering "when's the next one, don't be a month, pleasssse".....then I see this brand enw vid
Naw bro me to 😭
Me too
Me too😂

They will fail no matter what fluid you use. These are not real trucks.

I think you should get a push bar for it
Was waiting for another one of these to drop after seeing the first, I can't wait to see how this turns out more
don’t stop making videos about this car, i like this
I approve this video. Mark you have talent when it comes to working on vehicles.

$18,800 for a 2019 with 55k miles isn’t that bad. I would’ve bought it too! Clean clean

Amazing video ❤ keep them up
Thats a nice price to get it for. Looks new again. Limo tint the back windows. Ill be waiting for your next videos.
I have a '16 Twin Turbo and so want a '20 or newer. My '16 is amazing and really fast but those newer body styles look amazing.
Love you. Keep up the great videos!❤

Amazing 👏 job working on ex police car 🚓 vary nice every get arrest Mark 😀 😊😊
Where did you find/purchase the car?
Always a great day when Mark posts
Wow😁, I really like your video! Have you tried installing a car stereo?
loving this series!!!
I did not know the turning radius was improved on the interceptors. Does anyone have a full list of all the differences that interceptors have?
Hahahaha I saw you in the number 1 lane on the 805 southbound recently. Looks legit!
Your friend always looks like Ricky Bobby, he doesn’t know what to do with his hands

Good one
That Tundra looks fire🔥
Were you allowed to buy the whelen equipment from that junkyard in SD? Was gonna say you could've just bought those!
should have left the windshield tint on - it looked nicer with it!! great vid tho
Just starting to watch your video now but wanted to remind you to be sure to check out the trailer for that movie "Let's Be Cops"..... hilarious
So how many passed you while driving the FPIU?
Do you know where I can get that small roof antenna you put on the explorer last episode?
Check out the Midland MiniMobile Ghost antenna.
@ thanks
Are the doors bullet proof
You need to install some spot lights and a wraparound gard.
would love one of these! Nice pick up!
What is the location of that junkyard? In need of a new passenger bedside haha. Born and raised in Oceanside Sanchos definitely is the spot 🤙🏾
Depending on how this goes. I may trade in my ST, If the interceptor can look and feel more civilian like on the interior

the ethernet cable was most likely for an ALPR or its modem in the back
Mark : says anything
His friend : 🤷🏼♂️
The ethernet cable is for a siren controller usually
You should’ve took the BALLISTIC PANEL out of the door on that police interceptor you took the hatch off of at the junkyard🤷IT WAS JUST SITTING THERE 01:16
To be honest I didn’t even realize it had it I was so focused on the hatch
Sanchos is the bomb! Love the one in HB
Fire!!
What did you use to find it to what site
Nice ride !!!
Can’t wait for the next video
28 seconds ago and first like! i love this series!
put lights in it please that would be SUPER cool
That looks brand new!
How much did this vehicle cost you ?
$18.8k + tax and reg
You really like Toyota, good content
1:12 wtf gangs was santa rosa fighting, them shits from the matrix movies?! 😂 they shit tore all the way tf up 🤣
Are you going to put a spotlight or a ram bar on it???
Nice car! 🔥
I can’t believe they left that mag light in that junkyard car
That RJ 45 cable is for the siren control head.
Put a bumper wrap push bar bro !!!
You should take the Police Interceptor badge off of the old hatch onto the new one
How did you find this vehicle ?
Search online "used interceptor near me" or find some online auctions.
There’s a dealer near me that sells decommissioned cop cars for pretty good prices and I drive by it every day, wish I could get one. Maybe some day
Where at?
They sell them cheap because they are junk vehicles. Especially the previous generation V6. If the Government is buying them or selling them you don’t want them.
hybrid icon should go back on instead of the Flexfuel
i need an update on the car pleasee
AWESOME WORK
Would love to have that scanner out of that salvage car
Headlights are cooked
Nice to have bullbars on the front
Should have bought the equipment in the interceptor in the junkyard lol
Btw you forgot to remove the Hybrid AWD decal from the old trunk and put it on the new one
Please get a wrap around for it!
How much did he pay?
The tailgate says santa ana police because you bought it off an ex santa ana pd gang unit explorer. 😂
Yeah... like... guys it's not the original liftgate... did you forget that already? 😂
You guys need to watch the video again. The car they got it from said “Santa Rosa” on the side. So they were surprised to see “Santa Ana” on the back.
I m waiting new video about eletrical 😊
i just saw the other video of you buying it lol
you should deck it out
I am going to stay alongside with you on this
Are you gonna put cops light blue and red? On it
I have a 2015 and I love it ❤

You need a Police search light on your left mirror
Like the video. just be careful. you might attract the real police because you are approaching that becoming making it look like a real interceptor they drive. .
Why didn’t you just get that dented area taken care of with PDR.. less money spent in the long run
