The opening on the dash where you mounted that is where our radars go, we mount our PA systems and radio systems in the center console under the computer. Sweet clean whip!
@carsonscarbrough3786 he can install whatever he wants cause they can't stop him but he can't use any of it on the road the only thing he can't install and go to jail for is wrapping it in a pd of hp livery.
@TheoneandonlyBandit0 actually no, he can't install whatever he wants. It's a felony to have a siren mounted to the car and lights. He did it right by putting amber lights on it instead of red and blues or just blues. The fact that he has amber lights, is the only reason he isn't committing a felony. The pa system is borderline, simply because of the "siren" function. The only thing that is going to save his bacon, if you will, is the fact that he has amber lights and not red over blue or blue over blue. He'd have to be a volunteer firefighter to legally be permitted to have blue over blue. And the pa system/siren would have to be removed. Unless, he was I line officer within the fd ( lieutenant or higher ) then he'd be permitted to have red over white/ red over red and a siren. And the light color is state specific, and he would need to go to his state police and find out which is legally permitted. In PA, volunteer firefighters are permitted blue over blue and line officers in a volunteer fd, are permitted red over white and a siren. And regardless of position, your pov has to be registered with the state police, which can only be done by the fire Chief (that's for all states) and he wouldn't be allowed to use his lights until the process was complete.
To have that low of idle hours, this was most likely a supervisors patrol vehicle. All Of our department vehicles have plastic back seats so kinda shocked to see comfy cushion seats.
Th control box ( felony in a box) goes in the center console, not on the dash. The PA speaker gets mounted behind the grill. Look forward to the DeWitt videos soon. By the way, if it was a demo vehicle, those holes drilled into the top of the center console would have been where the lights would have had a switch. Would be real easy to add one there.
there should be a switch by the sunglass cubby by the rear view mirror. Just flip it before exiting vehicle and the tailgate button will work without using the key.
because NO state allows for tinted windshields owned by civilians. Just because it was on there when he bought it, does NOT mean it is legal for him to have it on there once he owns it. And him making all that racket in an apartment complex with the siren and PA is likely to get him in trouble with management when people are complaining about the noise. He should find a small office with an attached garage/shop to do that kind of stuff in once the main businesses have left so he doesn't wind up getting arrested for disturbing the peace, and possibly police impersonation.
there should be upfiter plugs along the front of the engine bay and they tend to end in the center console a grey plug with brown stripe wires you can wire up thats corner lights to and have a toggle aswell as your amber grill lights, ( I Build Police cars for my job)
It could be like that movie "Let's Be Cops" and if you haven't seen it you should check it out it's pretty funny. Maybe time to do some Patty Mayo skits with it.
9:40 would be cool to have an option to tie it into the turn signal and disable the flash when in this mode so its like those curb illuminators they sometimes have on luxury cars
Great find. I’ll tell you after 31 yrs as a LEO if it were in service full-time it would have had a good urine/vomit dump on the floor at least once with a residual odor to match.
Nooooo not the cheapo amazon siren! You can get a used main brand equipment for the same prices. I have collections of police and fire equipment and I'm picking up a few full sized light bars for $120 next week haha. Those lights in the headlights are probably Whelen Vertex hide-aways. The "Ready for the Road" package can consist of many items, including headlight lights, headlight hideaways, grille lights, rear window lights, and other options according to the buyers specs
Why wouldnt they put solar on the roof. Sure it would require a slight modification to the chassis to get those cells integrated into bodywork but i cant imagine using much more than 700w at idle, unless using the AC which i personally dont use but others might, well, i dont use until it gets over 100 or over 90% humidity. I'd imagine solar would significantly cut down on maintenance/idle hours
2 things... 1. the smelly "bodily fluids" have to be from the cop sitting there farting all day 😂 and 2. Did you check the rear tail lights to see if they wig-wag too? They should.

Yeah they usually pull those out before selling them off thank god lol
Will this be a series?
i learned, if you turn on your turn signal while the wig-wags are activated, the white light on the indicating side will remain off
Damn why are you taking the tint off? It makes it look niceee
Thats a steal. I got my interceptor sedan with 1k idle hours and roughly 102k miles but it was a spare unit 3.7 flex fuel

You can reprogram the car with forscan to make it act like a civilian vehicle again with the locks and everything
You need to add a pushbar on the front lol. Please make more vids on this!!
Can someone remind me why a 2020 explorer would be retired if a crown vic today STILL STANDS IN SOME DEPARTMENT IN THE US
Budgets
Well considering the civilian Explorer has garbage reliability I bet these fall apart pretty quickly too
It’s not retired because this suv never served. He said it was a test vehicle. So it was owned by a company that sold them.
It's a test vehicle, so there probably was a reason why it couldn't be converted to an actual police car
Reliability. Crown Vics are like the 1994 Ford F series. Unbreakable.
Had 2 crown vics very fun cars
Should of kept the windshield tint
As long as you don’t put in blue lights it’s perfectly legal to use white and amber
After about 50K miles of police use the battery takes a dump and basically just is active up to 5 mph just to start the engine.
The tires, engine, suspension and transmission look great, but you still need to fix the cigarette lighter.
2 things... 1. the smelly "bodily fluids" have to be from the cop sitting there farting all day 😂 and 2. Did you check the rear tail lights to see if they wig-wag too? They should.
There's no 2.3L option for this PIU. They offer a 3.3L NA gas, 3.0L EcoBoost, and 3.3L gas/hybrid
Good luck keeping the drive train together
