@William Kauffold Perhaps Sakurai just liked it that much? I see no other explanation as there are soundtracks way more memorable for DK and the other franchises that weren't included.
My only problem with this game is a glaring error in the script. Everyone seems to talk about only one Crystal Banana, when there's really five of them. Perhaps there was originally going to be just one, with King K.Rool using its energy to juice up his minions, but they changed it to five at the last second. It would explain why King K.Rool's transformation is different from the others (K.Rool grows much larger, he doesn't glow with blue light, and he has god-like power). Maybe this would have been explained as the Kritters only getting a fraction of the power while K.Rool used the entire thing on himself. An excellent looking game nonetheless. Actually, now that I think of it, this would've been an awesome story for the main DKC series!
Ok, I have one more problem. The boss music is inconsistent. I think the song for the first two bosses should have played for all of them, except for King K. Rool. The music could be unchanged for that one.

Hot take here .this game did not age that well,and I played the hell out of this game as a kid, but when I found a used copy at my local game store and decided to pick it up to re experience my my favorite childhood game,I found that the climbing mechanics are more frustrating and janky than I remembered leading me to ask myself “how did a younger me push through this ?”
If your anything like me, you used the stars to get through the last level, and then you were never able to beat k rool because of the difficulty spike.
How the hell did you beat them so fast and perfectly?!! I was *NEVER* able to without losing tons of lives in seconds!! I even lost all 99 lives against K. Rool and I *STILL* couldn't beat him, much less hit him twice!!
