Loved hearing about your plans for 11th grade. It’s fun to see all the books! What do you use for teaching computer skills? We have done typing, but not much else.

Oh good question!! To be honest a lot was probably self taught and I have some knowledge 😉. We used to have compute in the living room and so much was done there. My 2 oldest just picked up naturally- I think the younger generation doesn’t have fear of messing something up😀. My oldest did take a programming course and 2nd took a class both of them from same place? But cannot remember 😉 my 2nd signed us up for skillshare because he wanted some classes and I had my 3rd take an intro to computer I think at end of 8th grade. Sorry I am not more helpful- maybe I can find the information and share in the future 🤗

Perhaps you can let us know how it goes with the economics from Heart of Dakota. It seems like a great program. We use Simply Charlotte Mason for History, which we have enjoyed...I'm not sure if economics will be covered, though.

Does heart of Dakota have history quizzes and tests for grading? I haven’t noticed that if they do, so I’m wondering how to grade them in these older grades.

There are some subjects in Highschool that will have quizzes and tests. The place to understand the grading is to look on line because you can look at the Overview and it will show you the course descriptions along with the suggested grading😉
      I hope this is helpful!!!

We are switching math curriculum this year to Math-U-See. My son has dyslexia and dysgraphia and math has always been a struggle! Do your sons use the manipulatives for Pre-Algebra/higher math and find them helpful? I haven't decided if they are absolutely necessary for a 14 year old.

Pre - algebra is a great time to start with Math U See. I don’t think any of mine used blocks for that🤔 I do want to encourage you
that it is ok to slow the pace. You may have to do a lesson every 2 weeks, then the next lesson may only take a few days. ❤️🙏

Do they do every subject every day at this age to get it all in?

    • @learningwithboys7431

Most of them unless it is 1/2 credit.
I encourage to go to the website. You can actually look at week 1 and the boxes will be the same each week!! It gives you an idea of work load😉

@@learningwithboys7431 I’ve looked through it a little today, I’m about to look closer while my boys are at karate, lol! Do you use the notebook pages? And the audio history CD’s? I’m kind of thinking we could just use a regular notebook, because mine don’t care about fancy pages, hahaha. I guess what I’m asking is do you do all of what’s written for history, or pick and choose?
