Thank you for the tips! I have an 8 and a 10 year old boy this school year. We are using IEW and I help my 8 year old and it’s been perfect for my 10 year old. Fix it grammar has been good for my 10 year old too. I do think they have really benefited from all of the reading aloud that I have done with them since they were babies.

Thanks a lot for the video. It’s so helpful. I struggled with writing myself when I was in school. So I’m really worried about teaching it to my soon to be 8year old son. My plan is to use Bible Heros from IEW with him after the incoming winter break. Hopefully it will works out with my son. Thanks again for sharing all the information and experiences

This is a really good video! Thank you for sharing! May I ask if you have had very reluctant writers? I’ve been wanting to get my boy to do notebooking but as soon as he hears anything concerning writing he switches off. I’ve tried so many different ways and am missing ideas how to make notebooking more interesting…

Finally commenting on how thankful i am for your HOD videos. We've done 3 years of the middle grades and it is great, but got to be A lot. I love the idea of a year of World cultures & geography. Thanks for the inside look at things.

My oldest just started at a Christian college. He was able to complete 2 years of college in high school and he received 90% in scholarships.

A child must complete a standard pre-algebra curriculum before they enrolled in the art of problem solving curriculum. The art of problem solving curriculum is design for student that are involved in competitive mathematics.

Hello thank you for this video. I need all the advice I can get. I’m a new homeschooling mom to a freshman with adhd and it’s not easy to find videos like this.

I was SO excited about this. My 7th grader is using Standard and my 9th is using the Advanced version (which is a lot because it's 5 days a week on top of the WG guide). It started out great, but my boys are really not enjoying this. The racers broke and stopped working, which frustrated them because it was needed for so many experiments. I thought they would love the hands on aspect of this, but they have been asking for a traditional textbook and less hands on. 😅

My daughter is loving the Advanced version of this 😊

Thank you for the review on the math book. this might be an answer to my prayers for my struggling 12yo (7th grade) son. I was in panic mode for how to fill in the gaps and not hold him back with math and get him caught up so by high school he could be doing pre algebra or algebra. This is the first time I ever heard of this math curriculum. Im very excited to get started. However the 10% savings would help, but I dont see the link you said you provided.

You can get vocab lists for free per grade online and then just have them define it orally or in writing. We do flash cards.

We were using math u see. I thought it was good, but not the math for our family. I switched to sinapore math. And starting feom basice on khan academy which is free. Will see what happens.

We are using Learn Math Fast for my 7th grader as well. :) When we switched from MUS to a spiral curriculum, there were many gaps, just as you'd suspect with a mastery program. My goal now is to get her ready for pre-algebra or maybe even Algebra next year depending on how it goes.

We are using the Learn Math Fast geometry book. I am not sure if we will be the Algebra 2 or choose a more traditional book.

Awe spelling city used to be free. I have used it and loved it in the past. Thanks for the update. Your son is 1 year ahead of mine so it is super helpful to me!😊

Learn Math Fast, was a life saver for my grandson, he is now in book 5 Algebra 1, he doesn’t love any math curriculum, but this is one he does like😂.

just wanted to say that because of you and other you tubers that introduced me to the Heart of Dacota, I have purchased Little hearts for His glory and Beyond little hearts for His glory for my 5 year old to use and we are loving it 🎉 even my 4 year old sings the Bible verses with us 🙏🤗

We are doing Heart of Dakota for the first time this. My 10th grader is overwhelmed with all the reading. Would this program be able to be done over 2 years?

Did you find that the study guides were a huge part of the learning process for the uncle Eric books? We have them but not the study guides. I’m trying to decide.

I will need to be adding all of these to our reading list. We have done farmer boy already. I did Mr. Bowdich as a kid in a private school so it was on my list for my kids already. I didn’t appreciate it back then and I figured that was because it was for school and also as a girl in middle school I wasn’t interested in some boy on ships. I did however like hamlet a year or 2 later so, I dunno. But I bet as a boy mom I will probably love it now. 😂

My boys love the Laura Ingles Wilder Series we are on book 3 I decided this summer to take the advice of the lady who created The Good and the Beautiful to pay my boys to to read because they would rather choose not to or audio books that didn’t have the literary content I wanted… So I paid them .2 cents a page or .5 cents a page and when they finished a series OR about 10 booms if it was a huge series a bonus. This did several thing one it brought my youngest up to doubling his reading speed!!! Two it got them hooked on good chapter books I approve of!!! The plan with their new earnings was to buy expensive Lego sets from Target!!! You know the $50-100 I usually say no to. Not sure if we will do this again next summer but for this summer it sparked joy and we are ready for a new school year… It’s our first year homeschooling and I’m so excited to have found this channel…as I have three boys!
