actually it makes perfect sense that lower liberty desire makes home rule more likely, because that would mean it's ok to give them home rule since they're aligning with British interests anyway and wouldn't go crazy and ask independence later
@@xhshdd7113 Canada? We made the pitch that it was better for Britain to have a loyal friend than an angry colony. They said yes. It wasn't until we proved our point in WW1 that we really stopped being a client state.
liberty desire added to the ticking (it went from 0.4 to 0.6) but it tanked relations so it overall went down, since relations went from -1.0 to -1.4 it's a combination of British being cordial, willing to give India more autonomy, and India wanting that autonomy. I... don't really see how that's difficult to parse. Dunno why he had such a hard time of it.
I love "Peccavi", the name of the achievement. You get it for acquiring the entire Sindh region. Peccavi is Latin which means "I have sinned"-the original pun was made in Punch magazine, misattributed to Charles James Napier, who conquered all of Sindh.
I dont know if there are multiple ways to form India, but it would make sense. Playing as the Sikh might be difficult, but its not like its impossible. The EIC is the country with the most flavour, and the most interesting. You can probably become independant or align with British interests. For me, this DLC is actually solid, good to see you have fun with it. ☺️
Britain's policies apparently caused the death of 140 million Indians within 40 years (ie policies like over taxing the Indian population, and sending all the grain to England during a famine in India etc)
30:15 The Vietnamese uprising flag seems to be a fictional mish-mash of various 20th century imperial standards. As far as I can find, Vietnam did not have a single national flag before French colonization, and instead had a variety of regional and imperial standards.
What are you adjusting inflation from and to? I would assume you use 1990 standard dollars, but what's your point of comparison on the from? Vicky doesn't really model price inflation so we'd assume it's from a baseline of 1836.
According to the Bank of England's inflation tool £440m in 1836 pound is £42,471,194,529 - still shy of the ~204 billion 1990 dollars in the Angus Madison estimates but not too far outside plausibility.
Great content as always, I'd love to see a Russian-American company next! Apparently 1.8 added them as independently playable from Russia and they have a unification event with the Inuit
@TheSocialStreamers I would really appriciate it if you showed of your nations laws more regularly, especially when you do long time skips in the edit and at the end of your vids, to show all aspects of your nation for your audience.
Not the whole India, I am from the late nation of Thiruvithamkoor, we were not colonized, instead we signed a treaty that the crown will hold foreign policy but we could keep our law, military and culture. India is the one that forced us to join, if we didn’t India would very much erase our nation from the face of earth 😢
havent watched the video yet but if the way to fix famines isnt to build infrastructure meant to supply food as opposed to the export of crops then paradox did a bad job. like reducing exports and imports should be a requirement to develop india
I don't understand what you're saying. There's two ways to fix famine, one is to develop the infrastructure so market access is 100%, but if market access is already 100% then you need to lower the price of foodstuffs or you need to fix unemployment, sometimes both. And in India you need to be careful about developing agriculture because the Subsistence Rice Paddies provide for 10,000 peasants but every agricultural building only provides 5,000 jobs so you literally destroy 5,000 jobs every time you build an agricultural building on top of the population growth being crazy.
in real life one of the main reasons there were so many famines under british rule was that the infrastructure to transport food had been ignored if not even undeveloped to allow for a greater focus on exports. as with most post industrial famine the issue is not a lack of food but perverse incentives preventing acces to food. from what i saw in the video being on extraction economy seems to do a decent enough job of modelling this. though i didnt see the east india company getting mad and demanding more opium plantations to be built every time the stock price went down but hey, nothings perfect.
that set everything and go get coffee is also my problem with hoi4 it feels like you just gotta wait for interesting thnigs to happen but by that time im checked out

I mean, not really.
No empire has given its subjects freedom because they expect them to remain aligned to their interests

A lot of other stuff to do and DLC to beat and mods to play.

Inflation conversion from times older than like the 1940s is weird because purchasing power parity has changed so insanely.

U guys know the current literacy rate of India is 76.32%? Shocking
Its similar in the usa which is even more shocking
Its currently 86%
What is so shocking about it ??
Being an Indian , I can tell you indians take education so seriously
The standard here for literacy is not that high. It literally just means a person can read and write a language.
