Well unless you are removing a Hayabusa Stock exhaust. The 2 mufflers are heavy and if you go with a Shorty slip on it will lose a noticeable amount of weight.
Gotta say for off beat firing order twins, a slip on isn’t comparable to a de cat with the slip on in how deep it sounds and how much louder it is. Twins sound like monsters when you de cat them.
I think I'm sticking with the OEM, it sounds great, and every single time I put a slip on exhaust on my bikes, you could no longer hear that intake of air when you twist the throttle. I have a 2021 ZX6R, the exhaust doesn't look too bad and sounds good. The police in my area have started cracking down on loud bikes, so I'd prefer not to get the old blue led salute in my rear view, if possible. Plus, I have read multiple horror stories of people having to continually put their bike in the shop because they lost power and the bike ran like crap after a full exhaust and tune.
🤩 wow searching for an 2016 KTM Akrapovic header pipe I just happened upon this really young boyish looking Ryan 👍🏾 How far you have come. Hi I am thinking to install full system exhaust install on my z900.Just wanted to ask that does it harm engine and do u have to remap the ECU and also put power commander
Did you add a full sistem to your Z900? And if yes, how afect your hosrse power? Did you notoce any diference? I put new sprockets to my z900. I put 16T and 41t and I can be any more satisfide. My bike runs faster and impruve on every speed. Please bro, let me know what your experience with the full sistem you have.
From my experience and in my opinion, no. The slip on simply changes the sound and of course saves some weight. As long as you don't change the factory exhaust you should be good. I have read on several forums, where people went full exhaust, got the ecu flashed and then started having power loss issues. Modern exhaust systems on sport bikes have been tuned to the engine. The engineers, have tuned the bike to perform at peak performance and usually a correct tune and full exhaust, really only gains about 5 to 10 more HP. Which on the street translates to less than 10 mph. So, is the thousand bucks you drop, really worth it? Usually no, also if you have a warranty or extended one, then stay away from the full exhaust.
Hello there, great video. I just have a quick question. I am planning to buy an Harley Davidson 883 and my friend is planning to buy a Harley Davidson 48. Both 2016 models. Will the Full system have a different sound than just replacing the mufflers. The price is more or less the same in India. Sound matters to both of us. We want to have a heavy and bold sound compared to the power requirements. Thanks in Advance
+Anurag Sharma Sorry for the late response - this one must have slipped through my filters! The full system will sound "different" from the slip-on. But that's not to say that a full system will sound any *better*. If you're only concerned with sound, go with the slip-on! The thing about your bike (and your friend's 48) is that the midpipe and header are very visible. So if you want a seamless-looking exhaust, you might have better luck with a full system. Of course style is a matter of preference, and a slip-on might look equally good to you! ~Ryan
not quite right. You dont know how heavy some stock exhaust can be especially those with twin exhaust. Putting on a slip-on alone lightens up the rear of the bike and changes the way the bike handles around corner. Lesser weight in the rear, the more quicker n nimble the bike will be.
perfecthips Thanks for the info! I submitted a request to have the 2015 FZ-07 aftermarket exhausts from Yoshimura and Akrapovich added to the website. Check back for them soon! Also, how are you liking the new bike? I haven't ridden one of those yet, but they look brilliant. ~Ryan
What did you go with? I'm leaning towards the R77 or the Akra carbon instead of just getting the m4 slip on since I plan to do a power commander within a month of installing the exhaust.
i just bought TVS APACHE 310RR(produced from collab of TVS AND BMW) which is newly launched in india....the thing is i want sound but it shouldnt affect the engine much or shouldnt create any problems in long run....and i have been told that this bike has some really complex system.... can provide some idea about it by doing some research on this bike.....
Well not exactly true in my experience. slip ons, as mentioned in another post, can reduce weight significantly, and depending on the bike and system, slip ons can also provide more or less back pressure which is important for either high end or low end torque. It is my opinion that a full system gives a slightly more performance increase across the whole RPM and torque curve. How ever adding a properly tuned slip on can give a 5-10% increase in HP in certain ranges, but only if combined with a free flow K&N style air filter and proper carb tuning in the case of carburetor bikes (ie: re-jetting) or in the case of FI bikes, re mapping visa vie Power commander or similar adjustable map device. The CAT whether present or not makes little performance difference on a new bike, if your bike is 5 years old the CAT may indeed be somewhat restricted due to degradation. Bu If I were in business I would recommend a full system as well :)
Hey man! Cool video so I got myself my first "motorbike" well it is a Yamaha yzf r125 (I am only 16) but yeah. I was thinking of getting myself an Akrapovic exhaust tho Idc if it's worth the full system or not.. if I should just go with the slip on can't really decide. What do you reckon?
+wille1086 Congrats on your first motorbike! You definitely picked a good one with the R125. Personally, I would go with the slip-on. Your fairing hides most of the header and midpipe anyway, so there isn't really a style benefit to the full system. And unless you're planning to race, the horsepower gains from the full system won't be that noticeable. I would go with the slip-on, since you'll get the same noise for a fraction of the price! ~Ryan
Don't forget a full system deletes the catalytic converter which also has quite a bit of weight and muffles the sound quite a bit as well but if you wanna stay in the good books with the neighbours just go slip on as Fort nine says... But definitely go get your ECU flashed or a PC5 Now in most cases putting a slip on without a remap won't do irreparable damage but for the peace of mind and the few extra hp plus smoother throttle response I'd advise adjusting the AFR for sure.... KeepSafe Guyz Cheers from Oakville Ontario Canada,,,,,,,,EH!!!!!!
It does. You need a retune that gives the bike more gas if you want to actually take advantage of full system exhaust (more power). Even a slip-on will hurt gas mileage a little.
A slip-on sounds nothing like a full exhaust. Yes, it is cheaper and sound a little better. However, a full exhaust is wayyyyyyyy better sounding by all accounts! There could be no possible slip-on that has a SOUND QUALITY/loudness that a full system does. Good video otherwise, but that was misleading to noobies

incase you're being serious his name is fortnine he makes great videos
Oh buddy, u are in for a treat
This guy is good, he should make his own TH-cam channel!
youre such a baby here so cool to see how far youve come bro
Actually if you have a full system it'll be louder than the slip on
As soon as I saw Ryan, I subbed
I like how he's holding an exhaust pipe the entire time, occasionally pointing at it whenever he says exhaust
Bro it’s weird to see where he came from he is Ryan fort nine now
Why is fortnine here

@Shalin I dont think slip ons will ever hurt the bike. Full exhaust and tuning would be more worry some.
Great video
Please do one on installation
Fortnine? Your are basically the linus of the motorcycle word
does he not work for fortnine now???
Canada's Motorcycle is the predecessor of Fortnine. They re-branded.
I already changed the slip-on..does changing the headers impact the sound further?
Full straight pipe will be louder and lighter but you run lean. Now you will need a power commander or map for more fuel.
