      In Afghanistan the Western coalition has never talked about secret weapons, yet the war has not gone well there either. After twenty years of war and billions of dollars spent in vain, the world's No. 1 army, the super-technological US army, has fled Kabul in the face of a gang of ragtag Taliban armed only with AK47s and a few pickup trucks with machine guns. There is no word in the vocabulary to describe such a humiliating defeat. At least the Russians are fighting a real army largely supported by the major Western powers.

    The IRA did this in London with powerful homemade bombs. One was planted in the Brighton hotel weeks in advance of Mrs Thatchers party conference. I dunno how they pulled that off. How did he book a room that happened to be above Thatcher's bedroom. A huge chimney fell on her bed but the bitcz was up late 3am finishing off her speech. Quite literally, a tactical nuclear detonation can be delivered from artillery shells. As far as I have read, two man portable in terms of "suitcase" is about as small as anyone has or maintains. Ukraine isn’t fielding a Warsaw Pact/NATO sized force or has anything that, if wiped out by such a strike, would turn the tide of the war. Considering the order of battle, Ukraine might lose a few hundred soldiers (and civilians), but the fallout from this ground burst would be floating over not only their own troops, but their own country.
    What would be worth even such a small nuke detonation when the IMMENSE cost that would be exacted against Russia, from even their erstwhile “allies”, following such a strike, which would certainly FAR outweigh any benefits?
    No, Putin may be an ass, but he’s not suicidal. And even if he was, those in the military that control the missiles, and the FSB that control the warheads certainly aren’t. Especially when there is no existential threat from Ukraine.

This is a centuries old system, where foreign nations can import goods into another country which goes straight to their embassy without being examined by customs or anyone else. Around the world Russia has 147 embassies and a similar number of consulates, all with diplomatic immunity. There are also unknown numbers of "illegal" agents in most western countries. These people often pose as normal citizens leading quiet lives to avoid attention. We know this is true because our secret services do find them from time to time. I am not suggesting all of these are sitting on suitcase nukes, but the possibility is there.
      I can only speak for my own country, the UK. I do not think we have sited such devices in Russia. It is not the sort of things we do. However Russia has a long track record of carrying out "wet jobs" and this is typical behaviour for them.

    the atomic bomb " gun barrel " design is just a tube with uranium at both ends then a explosive charge fires the uranium bullets at each other . the impact and heat cause a atomic detonation ... these can be made small enough to fit in a howitzer shell .and uranium last a long time no need to re-fuel .
    so atomic briefcase might be more accurate ..[ look up " little boy and fat man " ]

    𝗢𝗳 𝗣𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗪𝗮𝗿 𝗜𝗜𝗜
    Last week, a conversation with Pope Francis was published, in which he related to the Russia-Ukraine war as the start of World War III. In a conversation with the editors of European Jesuit publications, and which was first published by the Italian Jesuit publication La Civiltà Cattolica, the Pope said, “The world is at war. For me, today, World War III has been declared.” Subsequently, he lamented, “What is happening to humanity that we have had three world wars in a century?” I do not believe that the Russia-Ukraine conflict is a third world war or that it should devolve into one. However, the fact that there is such a danger, or that there is war at all, shows that we have not drawn the right conclusions, which puts us in harm’s way again.
    It is clear to everyone that no one has anything to gain if the war in Ukraine escalates into a global conflict. That said, the war is yet another indication that we still do not know how to govern our desire for dominance and control.
    We have come to a point where our ego does not settle for controlling others. Nowadays, people are willing to destroy others for simply behaving or even thinking differently from them.
    If we want to prevent wars, we need to help all the nations realize that war does not bring any benefits, that we do not want it and do not need it. This is a process that must involve everyone, since each country must have its neighbors going through the same process, or belligerent countries will exploit other countries’ efforts to end violence.
    If countries do not adopt this approach, they will continue to compete against each other, exploit each other and deplete the earth of resources. We are already seeing the consequences of this attitude on our planet, but they will grow far worse in the very near future. Hunger, extreme heat, extreme cold, and countless other problems will overwhelm humanity and force nations to stop abusing others and focus on their own survival.
    To prevent this scenario from developing further than it already has, humanity needs to understand that we must learn to work together or nature will destroy us. Currently, many nations are still dreaming of conquests and subjugations of other nations. We must gradually make these nations understand that doing so will only harm them, and harm everyone else, as well. Unless we help everyone realize that we are dependent on each other for better or worse, and we must act accordingly, we will all be in big trouble.

    • @kingranches
      @kingranches 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ukraine has ALWAYS been known as the brains of the soviet union. Its where most of the nukes were designed and built. So the likelier story would be that if it looked like RUSSIA might win, that Ukraine would blow up half of RUSSIA with the ones they DIDNT give up after the Soviet Union fell. Of course the way things are going, Ukraine wont need nukes to blow up half of Russia, theres practically no military instalation they haven't successfully attacked, the last Train Tunnel to China was well over 1000 miles into Russia. I'm sure that long before theyd let Russia win, theyd take the gloves off and start hitting much easier civlian targets like the Russians have been doing since day 1.
      I guess the only real plus there is in fighting an enemy that PREFERS to kill women and children, is that you have nothing to loose by fighting to the last man, woman and child. And trying to take all RUSSIA's civilians with you. So you see its RUSSIA that should fear Ukraine losing, not the other way around, because they have been doing their worst for 2 solid years. Ukraine hasn't even BEGUN doing their worst.

    The fissionable materials these smallest of tactical low yield weapons would lose their ability to create critical mass within a matter of months. I have to imagine that a major terrorist group would have already attempted to use any of those that they had managed to purchase them as "ready to use", and if not, a this point they are useless as a bomb . A country such as Iran however could theoretically maintain such a bomb although that hasnt been a story it seems.
