- I've had the 57 Chevy for a little over 2 weeks and now the drive line is in! There were a few snags but I got it done. Now that I know it runs, I can start installing everything permanently. Cooling system, fuel system and bleeding the brakes are next. Stay Tuned!

Can't believe how fast this is going! Keep up the good work. Car is coming together, going to be awesome !
Thanks! I'm working hard on it
Good move going to the ramshorn exhaust. Headers make it so you can't get to the sparkplugs, or the starter and they hit the idler arm and pitman arm. You'll never notice the lack of headers unless your girl likes to run above 5000 rpm.
I woke up this morning with nothing really to do..waiting on parts for my latest project...said boy I hope somebody posted a video.....and BAM here you are...looking good your girl ought to love driving it.
Thanks man! Glad you enjoyed the video
Great work on the ‘57. It’s coming along quickly. You sure don’t waste any time doing things. A little lost time with the exhaust manifold bolt but it didn’t seem to phase you. Just do what you gotta do and keep on trucking. That ‘57 is going to feel right at home once it’s back on the road. Keep up the good work, can’t wait for the next video.
thanks so much. Just gotta keep your head down and keep working
Damn brother, you work very fast, keep up the great work, you definitely deserve more recognition for your work!
Thanks man! I just keep working away.
Thanks Buddy.....have a rest...good rest ....too small place to work on, don't hurt yourself.
Looking Cool, love those Cragars !!!!
Yeah I really like the way it turned out
You seem wise beyond your years. Love how you see these cars. I do too. 4 doors can be the perfect sleeper. Your girlfriend will be happy.
Yup I got enough hot rods. This should be a nice driver
@@DDSpeedShop run a few ground straps between the shetmetal and the block, plus one from the neg batt terminal to the sheeetmetal for the car to charge properly.and new thermostat to!
My uncle Dave had a 57 Chevy bel air sports coupe but he sold it to his co worker then he passed away, hes the reason why the 57 bel air is my dream car...
They're out there. Just gotta keep your eyes peeled
@@DDSpeedShop You're not wrong but in the mean time I get to watch you build an amazing car! Thanks for sharing your adventure with us!
I knew I was right when I subscribed to this channel. Hell at the rate your going it will be wired and soud from the speakers and some short header pipes will be attached. Your a hard worker. I don't care if you have the seven dwarfs helping you, your doing fantastic. If this was friday night, your wife would be driving it to work monday morning. I pulled wrenches for years and it ain't that easy as you make it seem. You should be proud

Success! She's coming along perfect. Motor sounds good. Keep up the good work.
The old girl comes back to life....
And she look happy....
Seriously though...
Well done bringing that 57 back from the dead
yeah i try to save em all
Man, I thought I worked quick on my project cars..... nope, not compared to you! Great choice in using the ram’s horn exhaust manifolds. Very good work!! Love the ‘57!
Thanks so much! My standards are low so it looks like it goes quick haha
@@DDSpeedShop plus U got a goodly stash in your horde of parts right? I was like that with Vegas and Chevelles in the 80's
You could try a long yoke for your turbo 350 if you need a bit more, just trim to the needed length, or you could pick up a new driveshaft from southwest speed... I've used several so far with zero issues. Sold in 1/2" increments and includes two new u joints and a turbo 350 yoke. Balanced and ready to bolt in. Keep up the great work! Cheers!🍻
yeah, good point SAFETY FIRST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You are very motivating! Makes me want to fix my glitches on my

Hi there Dan & Dani. Looking good, it's coming along nicely in such a short time. At 18:13, there's that color scheme door that was the original color of the Giveaway 57. Sorry for pointing that out, ironic a parts door is that color. Anyways, great video thanks. Take Care from the Falls...
This is awesome progress that you are doing. Keep it up! It was great to hear it fire up for the first time. Thanks for sharing your build videos with us. Your wife will love cruising it. Keep making more videos please.
Awesome that's for the support! I'll keep the videos coming.

I like Qjets. They are on everything I have. Except the lawnmower
Those rims make me drool!
Now that's a car you should have made into a two door. Liked the 55 made a nice car!
maybe down the road i wwill
That's awesome and sounds good you have been busy. It want be long now before you can go for a little ride. Be looking for the next video ! 😎
Yeah hoping to put some miles on this thing soon.
@@DDSpeedShop that will be great to see it going down the road on its own power.
Wow! Wow! Wow cool video! Thanks for another great video!
thanks!
It looks like you've got a plug wire off, probably why the engine was rocking so much. Good series, enjoying your progress.
Yeah a few of the wores are pretty worn.
Hey! Another '57 Chevy back on the road soon! Great job!! You have a great handle on overcoming obstacles. Never loose it!!!
Um, just a suggestion. Electric wiper motor..As soon as you step on the gas with a vacuum wiper motor, the wipers stop. My father's '56 Chevy wipers always stuck by the curve of the windshield with the vacuum wiper motor. Electric wipers were an option back then, so it is period correct and safer than vacuum ones. Merely a suggestion, you understand.
Engine sounds real good!
Keep up the great work!!!
Totally! I have vacuum wipers in my 55. I'm on the lookout for an electric set up. If she falls in love with the car I'll spend a few more bucks on it
@@DDSpeedShop or maybe DITCH the WIFE if she has no feelings for that classic????(JUST KIDDING)))))
@@DDSpeedShop again it's merely a suggestion. I know your '55 has the vacuum. My opinion, 1 out of thousands. It's your world and your choice...keep on saving the old classics. Back in the day, folks would call the '57 Chevy " the baby Cadillac" because of the styling and trim...
Good stuff tri five brother. I to have both a 55 and a 57. But my 55 is a 210 four door. And my 57 is a two door post bell air
nice! sounds like a couple fun cars
Hey bud, Motor sounds great. I'm happy that my memory served me right and it went in with the stock rear mounts. If you ever have to buy new set of headers, check out headman dual stage headers as they split in half about the same as stock ex. so you can bolt the lower half from underneath. They are great when you have to pull the motor/heads as you can leave them on the heads and just unbolt the lower like stock exhaust. I had a set on mine and loved them. Keep up the great work as it's coming along great. Later bro
Yeah it worked out slick. Got a couple inches on each side. Kinda nice to keep the stock mounts
Gotta love a small block Chevy 👍 very cool car for a relatively low cash investment.
Looks like a nice engine and trans came with the project. Like that it's a QJet. I had a smog 350 with a QJet and headers in my 72 Monte Carlo. I put a small Comp Cams High Energy 268 cam in it and it really woke it up to about 5000 rpm. Car ran 15.3 at 93 in the quarter with a 2.73 open rear end.
Your "lady" is one lucky lady, IMO. Sweeeeeeet car!
👍👍 thanks for sharing 😀
Exc work and quick ! On thing on the drive shaft it should be ok but need to consider susp. Travel. Another inch would be nice. Getting it done tho. I bet she's getting excited
Yeah the driveshaft is a bit if a concern. I was gunna put stand on the frame and see how much it comes out with the rear end hanging.
@@DDSpeedShop you'll definitely do what you need to do
It's alive 😂 another great video 👍
driveshaft looks funky and the flex of the drivetrain will cause it to rotate in and out, so I would get a driveshaft from an 60's Impala or a Malibu, good for low speed travel but I wood not trust on hiway
Yup I need a longer one. But this one is free and in the garage haha
@@DDSpeedShop OK I understand your opinion but safety first and if wife has kids in car god forbid it slips at speed, can flip car or worse come thru floor ....seen alot of mishaps at dragstrips where this happened ..so safety first please..Try one from a mid 60's impala to get cut down ..just my 2 cents, great build.......:))
That's going to be a nice car when you get done...
Thanks!
I wish I had that 57 Chevy it's going make u nice car
thanks!
I definitely wouldn't paint the 57. I think it looks good the way it is.
yeah I think its staying as is
Awesome getting on the road soon so good 👍🏾🤙
It's Alive!!! 👍
Finally! Haha
is that a remote starter made from a brake light switch ? if so brilliant if not I wonder if I can make one from a brake light switch 🙃
Coming along 3;👍
"Basically Mint"
That’s awesome 😎
You don’t mess around you are pretty quick we’re are you located Canada or us
heater fan right in the engine bay? hope exhaust manifold doesnt leak lol!!
haha im sure itll be fine.....
AWESOME 👍👍😃

Hey brother I love you so 55 and 57 Chevys and Forge have you ever done any research on the Fords I just recently found out Ford was pretty badass during the fifties they had a free 12 with a blower option pretty damn cool they're actually dominant in NASCAR Uno's years that was their answer to the Chevy fuel injection endives use anyway just thought I'd ask a question I hope you not bias cuz I like the big three all of them make something I like
Where's your ball and chain at?
I Am Hoping That You Have 57 Chevy Finished before Cold Weather Arrive. AUG 13 19 12:59 pm
