Virtual backgrounds now supports custom images in Webex version 40.8 and the latest version of Webex Teams. As long as this has been enabled by your admin, you will now find a + symbol where you select your image. Use this to select your own images. For Best results use high quality images.
Virtual backgrounds are also now supported on the latest version of Webex Teams for Windows. Make certain you have the latest released version downloaded, this is enabled by your Admin, and you meet min system specs to take advantage of this feature.
Please note, to use Webex virtual background you will need to download the Webex program and install the virtual background pack (this will happen the first time you go to use the feature). Virtual background is not supported if connecting through the browser based version. If you can only connect via the browser based version and still are interested in virtual background you could look into a virtual camera setup like Snap Camera. However please note, virtual camera software like Snap Camera will still need to be downloaded and installed on the PC. So you might as well just install the Webex application for simplicity of use unless you are jumping around conferencing applications frequently.
I would check to make certain your system meets the requirements of virtual backgrounds. Using them does put a larger strain on your system (see below). However if this is not the case, I would check with your admin as there are many reasons this could be occurring and they should be able to troubleshoot the issue. Windows Requirements: - Windows 8 or Windows 10 32-bit/64-bit - Intel Core i3, i5, or i7 4000 series or higher - AMD Ryzen 5, 7, 9, or higher - 4 GB of RAM or more - 2GB or more of VRAM for dedicated GPUs
My camera when in Webex only has terrible feather on the outlines and weak edges, making it look like am i ghost or missing hair on my head. Nothing I can find in terms of help to correct. Camera is Aukey 1080 and works perfectly in other applications.
I'm currently using a logitech 4k usb webcam with white wall behind me without any issues for this video. I've also used a 720P webcam built into my laptop, also without issues. I have noticed that the busier the background the more feathering I seem to get around the outside of my head. Try a solid color wall and let me know if you still seem to get the issue.
Sorry to hear that. Please make certain you are not on a locked down, older version of Webex by a system admin. What version are you running? Also, please make certain you meet the min system requirements.
A green screen is not required. However, a simple background does seem to put less strain on the software then a busy one. I had a simple white wall behind me.

If you are referring to embedding your Webex Video feed into a website. you could do it in a round about method. Webex Meeting does allow for live streaming capability. Once you are live streaming to an RTMP stream or TH-cam you could then embed that stream into a site. You could also record the session and then embed the MP4 into a site as well. If instead you are referring to being able to do background replacement with the Web based version of Webex instead of the installed app then yes you can but last I checked it was limited to the images Webex Provided and did not allow for custom use of your own images until you downloaded and installed the full app.
