Well I would say there's more than one way to skin a cat. I would think it would just depend on the situation. I was worried that I might have trouble getting the correct shape back if I just patched the sunroof. Im sure there are people way more capable of pulling that off than me. I knew i could minimize the warpage from the welding by taking the route I went.

Why didn't you just cut the inner and outer and put the whole thing on it?
Do you mean cut the b pillars and a pillars? Like a roof chop (with no chop)?
