One thing you avoid by not swapping the cab is it keeps the VIN tag that matches the title, no need to mess around with that to keep it legal.

It's an age old formula people have used for decades. On average vehicles die for different reasons between the rust states and the southern states. In Chicago they rust away from the bottom up. This usually leaves good interiors, mechanicals, and upper sheet metal. In the south the interiors are destroyed by the sun, the mechanicals can be worn out, but the bodies rust free. Or like in this case the roof is smashed but that's the parts that are good on a dead Chicago truck.
It takes skill and work to combine the two, but because they are junked for different reasons there's one good truck between the two. Possible two trucks out of three or three out of four. Maybe even four out of five. Hence the free parts.

"YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU"RE TALKING ABOUT"!!! (him)
So to limit my time working for him I made a box, "here is this square"?
He measured it "yes, perfectly square"
Then I handed him a speed square that I checked to make sure it was dead nuts square ....."here, check again"
He puts it into a corner, about 5 deg out of square....But but how is that possible? The diagonals are correct because it's symmetrical, NOT square......
