Australia back then - sheer paradise.
Loved the shots of the audience - seeing them really took me back to those days.
Great, great show!
Hey Hey, total ad-lib most of the time and so much fun. Suzi fitted right in
Hey Hey was such a funny show. It all flowed so well. They were the good old days.
I really took Hey Hey for granted back in those days. I'd watch it while I'm ironing my clothes to look all spiffy before going out to a nightclub to catch nothing.
We all did. No show like it before or since, and we will never see its like again. 😪
I saw Suzi in 2024. The lady is as spontaneous, genuine and world class as she was in this show in 1981. Live a lot more life Suzi we need a world 🌍 class entertainer like you around. Come and visit us in Australia 🇦🇺 more often. God bless
Suzi was always a huge talent with a fire house voice whereas to look at her she was a little pocket rocket with the girl next door smile. Another legend gone but not forgotten
Rest In Heaven Thankyou for the music
👑💕
🎸🎤🎚️
She is still with us.
AAhhh!! The memories. I used to love this show much. The good ol days when the shows were just pure fun and silly. Thanks for the laughs!!
Suzi is a great talent, a real natural. Great bass player too! 😊
Saw Suzi at the St George Leagues Club and she was awesome.
Saw her at Tweed Heads Seagulls. It was many years ago, but she'd have been in her forties, and still at her best. A true rock 'n' roll queen.
She’s a legend! Her song 48 Crash was my old ship’s theme song in the navy. DE48, HMAS Stuart.
So nostalgic I remember this show gold tv
My favourite Suzi Quatro single is Stumblin In.
Hmm yeah , can the can , devil gate drive , good memories from those days .
First cassette i ever bought..suzi Qs greatest hits...Devil gate drive...
She dishes the Aussie shit as well as she ate it that's why we love her 😂
Suzzie was my idol when i was a boy of just 10. That leather, that voice, that energy, those hips ....
I was 13 then. She rocked those days. Suzie Q legend.
My mum was obsessed with Quatro as a kid and she begged for her album for christmas one year but my grandparents weren't keen. She got Abba instead 😂
We looked forward to this show. Friends over for a barbie and drinks and watch the show. Great times.😊😊 thanks for the memories. 👍🏻👍🏻
Our pleasure!
You were having a barbie and drinks on Saturday mornings?
@@karmicselling4252 that's what I read!
@@karmicselling4252 It's always Saturday morning somewhere. Well, not really...
@@karmicselling4252 finished at lunchtime. If you missed it in the mornings there there was VHS
Too funny lol.
Suzi fitted in just like a regular on the show, so quick witted. Oh that was Saturday morning show, gee that’s a few years old - remember it well. Great memories. Great, that’s 41 years ago 📺
😂👍
Glad you enjoyed it
❤she is just a legend go Susie you really rock and we all luv it🎉never a dole moment with her we luv luv her suzi q. 😊
She’s gorgeous ❤️
Suzi Spielt eine Wahnsinns gute Musik. Sie ist einfachartig. Du wirst immer bei uns bleiben. Meine Hochachtung für immer. Gruß Jörg
Great to see Suzie, also Great to see the old ones when they were on in the mornings. More early ones please... The angel used to crack me up.
Daytime hey hey was the best.
They could replay all of these episodes from the start and it would beat anything currently on free to air.
It was a fun time.😅😂🎉❤
I miss Hey Hey
Great lady
The Saturday morning show was better that the night one.
It was even better before they had an audience.
Those were the days..."Hey, Hey" on Saturday morning and Young Talent Time on Sunday evenings before Wonderful World of Disney (or on Channel Nine, it was "Movie of the Week" or something. TV was great in those days....A country practice twice, a week, Flying Doctors on Wednesdays, and Neighbours five nights a week (way before Home and Away came along).
It's a full blown hecklefest!
ozzie was a genius
Great show
Now that is a true live wire. Suzi came in and Suzi took over like she owned the place.
Best & sweet Performer forever .
Astonishing!
.......🎵🎸...SUZI...🤩🐸🤩...LOVE HER.......🎶🥁🎵.......
So young and cute.
Ahhh I miss the days of when Australian's and the rest of the world entertainers were 'worlds apart' in humor.
Great watching them entertain and being entertained at the same time.
All our great Australianisms, slowly dying to the 'woke' brigade.
American humor is very repressed. English humour of this era was quite similar!
I grew up during the hey hey sat days in Perth.....
I kind of thought life was going to be this vibe for the rest of my life.....never knew what was going to awaken in the future, the woke.
Back in the 80's we would have thought of this future as a dystopian, sci-fi horror movie.
I watched Hey Hey it's Saturday in 1997 in Melbourne.I didn't know that they already been on air since 1981.Daryl Sommers looks are still the same
The Queen of rock
I had a thing for Suzi. She's adorable.😍
I have been in love with Suzi Q for over 40 years, only problem she doesn't know me.
Had such a crush on Suzi in the 70`s , the other family members had to put up with never ending max volume 48 crash and devil gate drive among others :) .
CLASSIC
Still remember they'd go on about the audience then finally show its all empty seats😂
Can the can was the first album I bought when I was about 12 and saw her at Penrith leagues club
"Daaahh duuuurr uuuuumm eeeerrr ddaaaaaahhh nooooooorrr uuuuuum"
- Molly
She must of thought we were crazy
When everything was normal. Gone with the wind!
I was just having an argument with a woman the other day who told me to get my head checked as Hey hey was never on Saturday mornings.
Tell her “she must be dreaming” !
She must be young then ..
She never saw the ‘real’ Hey Hey… the 3-hour (or longer) Saturday morning show was the best by far.
I miss Hey Hey.
TV started dying when Reality TV and Panel Shows displaced the Variety show. Variety TV shows like Don Lane introduced audiences to so much amazing talent. I saw Blossom Dearie on Don Lane and David Bowie. That’s variety.
Loved the show!! The good old days before political correctness killed comedy 😢
What a great sport.
She could have had me if she played her cards right. 😅
😂 Dr Ben Dover on the phone.. 😅😂
Suzi☺️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I think she's pretty patient with him given he thinks her new single ("Lipstick") is some sort of film she's been in!
Daryl showing his true colours.
The day he cowtowed to political correctness/Harry Connick Jr was the day the show died.
"Now Harry lives here in Australia"!!! "What a Hippocrite"!!! "Don't Ya Think"...😝👍🦘🇦🇺
Yep, racist as shit and boring as hell.
I love Sausage Rolls 😋
That was Joan Jett & The Blackhearts.
@Puppydoug put another roll in the juke box baby 😅
In 1981 I was 9 years old I'm 52 now
Ah you were just a pup ..I was 11 😅
People forget that Hey Hey it’s Saturday was a morning show for kids before it went to Saturday night.
I remember it as the saturday morning show.
Another part of the real Australia gone 😢
im seeing her in a week from now with the baby animals screaming jets and the angels
Is she back out here?
That will be an awesome show, what a great line up
@@aussiebornandbred yep for the red hot summer tour
Sounds awesome
What, The Commas aren’t appearing ?
I'll bet Susie had a ball.
Still laughing at this RIP John Blackman.
Watching this from a different perspective now that I've worked with Miley Cyrus ( who's been mentored by Susie Quotro , and Susie's become a friend of Miley Cyrus ) . This is an episode when the show was a morning kids show that showed cartoons . Never knew how funny AND intelligent Susie is until seeing this . Would LOVE for Miley Cyrus to see this . Would have loved Susie Quotro to have been a regular guest-host on Hey Hey It's Saturday . Wonder IF she ever got to see the " real " Australia 🇦🇺 at any time ? ♑️✍️🇳🇴🇦🇺
Quatro
Needless to say, the show never survived the departure of Ossie.
It only came back because you can't have three hours of ant racing.
And the other networks said, "at least you don't have to pay for ant racing"
Back when Australia wasnt so uptight & politically correct. Back when Aussies were aussies the way i remember this country to be.
Always was playing on the tv on Saturday nights in the house while the parents had a beer & barbie & we had a house full of cousins playing outside & running in & out the fridge for thirst quenches😂×o
God! i was in grade 1 primary school.
❤
Suzi is only 74 years old today. She doesn't look it. 🥰😍😋😛😀
‘A little different to the Don Lane Show’
This really is a testament to John Blackman and his voice overs, if you ask me. Which you probably didn't, but anyway whatever.
2 things I’ve always thought were true. She was Gay and she was an Australian .
Suzi lived in England, she knows what *REAL* football is! And that yank game *DOES NOT QUALIFY!* Neither do the two Rugby games ore that Victorian "areal ping-pong!"
The original ROCK CHICK !!!
Suzi is thinking WTF?!?!?! Molly was so much more professional on Countdown with Suzi ... "Lipstick" was the single with a video clip and not a f*cking film!!!! ... WTF is Daryl on about?!?!?!?!?! Embarrassing!
They were totally miss it
A time when Americans all wanted to be white and British. 1950s, 60s,70s.
Nothing changed much, indeed.
Suzie Quattro is a mega spunk. Where did all the girls like that go?
I really fancied Suzy when I was 16 but she was too old for me.
Huge Adam’s apple on Suzi
People are not so sure if American people, their personality and mentality get along with that of Australian people. First of all, Australian pronunciation of many words can't be quite understood by Americans and the same happens in England. They share a "common language" (maybe not so much!) but that's everything they share! Suzy was not 100% comfortable on the show, but tried to be polite!
Is it wrong that I still want to marry her?
YES
Great joke scit
Short Italian girl
Half Italian, half Hungarian.
@@thevoiceofamerica2389 Italians are always hungry 😜
She looks about 15
She's 32 here.
00:24 Haha. Not too much interest shown by Audience !!
so cringy, beyond belief
