The Aeros Looper Station by Singular Sound is a looping device that has become quite popular among musicians in recent years. It offers a wide range of features and functionality that make it an attractive option for guitarists looking to incorporate looping into their music. However, not everyone is convinced that the Aeros Looper is the best choice on the market. In fact, some critics have gone so far as to call it the worst guitar looper for 2023.
So, is the Aeros Looper Station really as bad as some people say? Let's take a closer look.
First, let's discuss some of the pros of the Aeros Looper. One of the most notable features of this device is its ability to save and recall loops. This means that you can create and save multiple loops, then switch between them on the fly. This is particularly useful for live performance, as it allows you to create complex arrangements without having to manually record each loop in real-time. Additionally, the Aeros Looper offers a wide range of connectivity options, including MIDI, USB, and Bluetooth, which makes it easy to integrate into your existing setup.
However, the Aeros Looper is not without its drawbacks. One of the most significant issues with this device is its price. At around $600, it's one of the most expensive loopers on the market. This puts it out of reach for many musicians who are just starting out or on a tight budget. Additionally, the Aeros Looper can be quite complex to use, particularly for beginners. It offers a wide range of features and settings, which can be overwhelming for someone who is new to looping.
So, is the Aeros Looper Station the worst guitar looper for 2023? The answer is, it depends. If you're an experienced musician with a lot of experience with looping and you're willing to invest the time and money to learn how to use the Aeros Looper effectively, then it may be a good choice for you. However, if you're a beginner or on a tight budget, there are likely better options available.
In conclusion, the Aeros Looper Station by Singular Sound is a powerful looping device with a lot of features and functionality. While it may not be the best choice for everyone, it's certainly worth considering if you're looking for a high-quality looper to add to your setup. However, it's important to weigh the pros and cons carefully before making a purchase.

Plastic. Metal. Plastic. Metal. Also, plastic. And yes, metal.

I play hundreds of shows a year with it and nothing have ever broke . Still works years later

So you have the Aeros. By this video it would seem you haven't used it - at all. It has excellent audio quality. If you want to make use of the six parts in a song you will want a midi foot controller. The latest iteration of firmware (5.1 ish) finally brings it to a very useable looper for live use. Not that it has on mine, but the touch screen can break. Consider a screen protector.

I never was a fan of drum beats or other shebangs in a looper. You even have to fight with some to NOT hear it in most loopers. What I like with the Aeros is, it’s a… Looper! That’s the instrument. I didn’t tried it yet though. Excellent review, thank you.

I have a bad habit of dropping things on floor equipment and was worried about breaking the touchscreen on my Aeros. Went to the hardware store and purchased a little sheet of shatterproof plexiglass and had them cut it down to the Aeros screen size for me. Picked up some tiny little hinges and attached them to the plexiglass and Aeros with some contact glue. Now I have a nice little protective window I just flip up when needed to get to the touchscreen and close it when I'm done and no more worries about breaking the screen. It's been a lifesaver and has saved my screen on several occassions now.

Singular Sound has been listening to our feedback and continues to update the firmware.

Unfortunately dust and fingerprints are a part of life, so running a vacuum and dusting once in awhile is a no brainer. Don't be a pig keep your studio and gear clean!

It's far from the worst....It's also not the best ....Has quirky limitations that in the end...Knocks it out of the running. If it works for you, good.

Good review. You however you left out that with the Aeros sound card you can put the tracks, including overdubs into a DAW and add effects to any track move them around to rearrange the song and reload them back into the unit once you tweak them until your happy with them. Also a big plus with the Aeros is the mixer screen. With the mixer you can perform your loops and mute and unmute all tracks with your feet as well as control the volume of each track independently. Very powerful feature. Now you can play the same loop differently every time you perform with it as well as make copies of different arrangements if the same song and have multiple versions of that one song in your set list.

Nice video. Question: Can you load lets say 4 stems(gtr, bass, Drums, synth) of a backing track and play them simultaneously?

It’s a complicated piece of gear and works a lot differently than any Boss looper. If you don’t dedicate the time to learn it then stay away. But, those that invest the time, it’s amazing.

The original switches are terribly loud (I have such a unit). This makes it unusable to me as a solo acoustic player. You can hear the clanky switches whilst fingerpicking and such, and the sound is so loud it bleeds into my vocal mic. Enter their brand new Gold Edition, with silent switches - just released! That’s a game changer. Hopefully I can get the new switches for swapping out.

  • @matthewlalic708

How’s this compared with the boss rc 500?

I’m torn on this. I’m currently using the Aeros, but feel like I’m now beginning to notice it’s limitations.

Used several boss loop pedals and had them as midi slaves. Only found out that thousands of other people experienced the same audio artifacts as i did. The Aeros has not only solved that problem, it has totally changed the pedal looping game for me. All I need is to be able to send some loops out on L channel and some to R so i can disperse them to different areas on my pedalboard. Apparently doable by update.

I'm a Helix user. I've had my Beat Buddy for years, I love it. I just purchased and returned the Boss RC10-R. The drums where rubbish. I've ordered the Aeros and the Midi Maestro. I can't wait for them to arrive, especially after watching your very positive review.

  • @MrBassflute

Mine is five years old and looks spotless. Don't agree with most of this. HATED the Roland - big stupid buttons that were really tough to sync tracks with because of the sloppy, long travel. And I now have my new H90 feeding into it, so I get as many effects as I want. Not sure what you're on about in this.

  • @stuffnuns

For a few bucks, you can get “Barefoot Buttons”, to attach over the footswitches of the RC-600, that have that wider, foot friendly feel.
