Sandy River Greenway Trail Extensions in Troutdale

I drove out to Troutdale, OR to do a mixed-surface ride and check out new paved extensions to the Sandy River Greenway Trail/40 Mile Loop, now also named as the Ch'ak Ch'ak Trail (a native Chinuk Wawa term for Bald Eagle). This enables a smooth, car free way to get from Blue Lake Park to the Interstate 84 crossing of the Sandy River, removing the need to ride on busy arterial roads like Marine Drive and Graham Road.
Connections also allow access to the Columbia River gorge via Crown Point Highway and the trails at Sandy River Delta Park (which I do a loop of at the end of the video). I also briefly explore what will be developed in the future as a paved connector trail along the west bank of the Sandy River from I84 to downtown Troutdale via Depot Park
To add some milage, I start with a quick loop of Blue Lake Park and the Interlachen neighborhood.
