Swifties aren’t as sensitive because musical taste is personal and Taylor Swift has reinvented herself so many times, the fan base knows if you don’t like a particular song, there’s other songs that will resonate. Also, I can’t wait until you react to some of her performances on her current eras tour. Even this song, that sounds so great in the performance here, has vocals that are even better!
I've been a swiftie since '06 and I don't like every song and I don't expect others to either. The issue is a lot of people have hung on to the way the media portrayed her 10 years ago as a serial dater/industry plant type of person without even giving her a shot. I don't understand how some people have held that idea so tightly that they are ignoring how many records she has broken this year.
Reinvent isn't the word I'd use. Grown up in front of us and changed as she has done that is realistic. Plus she changed labels, management, and has grown out of her parent's control. But I'm fine with people not liking a particular artist or genre.
Taylors grandmother died too and she wrote a beautiful tribute song for her called Marjorie, l think it will move you. Her grandmother was an opera singer and Taylor put her grandmothers singing into the song. Enjoy!! I love what you bring to all of us. Thank you! 💖
Taylors not only a great live performer, a guitarist, electric, 12 string, banjo, piano, she's a great songwriter and writes almost all her discography herself on either guitar or piano. You need to watch Miss Americana and youll see her writing process and really understand her as a person and artist.
The growl/belt you're thinking of is I Know Places from the 1989 tour. I watched your reaction a dozen times because it brought me so much joy to see you become a swiftie in that very moment 😂
Jack Antonoff calls her Dead Tooth because she gets so into singing live that she chipped a tooth on a microphone once. And the growl belt was in I Know Places. My favorite is when she growls in a high note, so I get it.
did we all bully him into re-doing dont blame me lol love how the whole video was a buildup to the belt, am glad you liked this one though - i knew you would've liked this one :)
She has another song called dancing with our hands tied where she hits a similar note to that one but it's only in the studio version because when she performed the song live it was an acoustic version so I recommend checking out the studio version if you want to hear the high note
I appreciate your authenticity, because not everyone likes everything. And that's ok! Swifties won't be deterred by you not liking something -- we'll just keep trying until we find what's right for you. Thanks for reacting to this again - I missed it the first time around! I think you might enjoy Out of the Woods from the 1989 Tour and Out of the Woods from the Grammy Museum - both very different performances of the same song. It would be cool to see you react to both!
Some of her best vocals are in the 1989 world tour. Out of the woods, I knew you were trouble 1989, I know places, We are never ever getting back together. Also, swifties aren't that sensitive because she has almost 300 songs out there, all within different genres, so if you don't like one song, you can easily find another. She has songs about all types of things: grief, family, suicide, friendships, breakups, fictional stories, growing up. Anything you can think of, she has a song about it. There was a trend at one point where someone explained a situation and swifties were recommending songs fitting that. You'll notice that most swifties are very welcoming to new people discovering Taylor and her genius. If you want lower notes (which she excels at), I recommend giving anything from Long Pond Studio Sessions a try.
You definitely should listen to Marjorie, is about her grandmother who died and its such a beautiful song. She was an opera singer and Taylor put her vocals in the song its so beautiful
Here are a couple of good recomendations 1)She invinted Mary J Blige on one of her tours and they sang a song together named No Doubt 2) Taylor Swift "Red" Live On The Seine, Paris is a great acoustic version of the rong red.3) wildest dreams 1989 tour live , she really lets loose andgives an amazing performance. 🥰 keep up the good work like always
Taylor actually wanted this song to have a bit of a gospel vibe to it. Check out King of My Heart performance from the Reputation Tour. See if you like that one too.
As a swiftie since 2006, the only thing that will upset me is when people have opinions on Taylor that are obviously stemmed from misogyny. A lot of people don't even recognize that they have a bias against women and when they're talking about specific women, sometimes those internalized biases come out. As long as you keep an open mind and don't slut-shame or speak on something you haven't heard/seen then we're good!
Do you only want the high energy performances? Because as fantastic as they are, Taylor has a few performances where it's just her and a guitar or on the piano doing stripped down acoustic performances and they are just sooooooo good. There are especially 3 songs performed like this at a Paris Live performance she did just before Covid hit. The songs are Death By A Thousand Cuts, Cornelia Street, and Daylight. I love seeing performers who are well rounded. And those perrormances really highlight her acoustic abilities too ☺️
If you liked this performance, you would love False God: SNL Live Performance from Taylor Swift. The song is a jazzy/blues song. ESP the connection with her sax player as they perform on stage. I think that performance will surprise you.
Did anybody else notice the video was edited so that the first and second chorus was switched? When she says "I'd beg you on my knees to stay", is when she drops to her knees. It's reversed. 👀
All of the Girls you loved before, vault song from the Lover album, she does a little belty thing in the bridge of that one too! It was my top song of 2023 on Spotify 😂
In the behind the scenes of writing this song, Taylor says "I want it to sound more religious. Like church." to the guy producing the music. So you're spot on. Also, I'm very sorry about your grandmother.
Just liked and subscribed solely based off what you're talking about at 1:20. Haven't even heard the reaction yet, but will be watching more of your reactions when this is over. God Bless YOU!!!
When the critique is valid, I think most reasonable people are fine with it. There is a small but toxic contingent of Swifties who think that everything she does is perfection, but as you said. If she did everything perfectly, we'd never see her shine so damn bright when she gets it right ☺️
agreed, also - out of the woods from 1989 tour and king of my heart from rep tour cornelia street (live from paris) or wildest dreams (grammy museum) if you want more stripped back performances where her voice is the centre of it all.
She continues to change genres and challenge her musical and vocal styles. You may not like all of her music but I think she is a wordsmith when it comes to her poetic lyrics! So glad you’re being authentic! Thank you!💕
I enjoyed your reaction. One of my favourite performances by Taylor is: Taylor Swift Live at the Grammy Museum 2015 - Wildest Dreams. Just her and a guitar but beautifully executed. It's flawless - the guitar, the vocal, the song. She makes it look easy but flawless is really hard. Runner up is Out Of The Woods from the same performance but playing the piano. Both her written about Harry Styles whom she was still sad about then. Before the performances she gave a talk to a room full of industry insiders - Producers and Engineers (P&E) - about the making of her Album of the Year record, 1989. They inducted her into the P&E Wing of Nashville after that because she had accumulated enough credits as a producer and engineer of her own music. She was 24 at the time.
I like you, I like the way that you assess the entire performance and you obviously have amazing ear. have you reviewed “ enchanted”?Not every song has the big loud strongnotes but that’s one of the things that I love about her. I am now and always will be a swiftie. ❤
This is one of my favorite songs of hers and i hope when she rerecords she does the belt the same way 🙏🏻 also, we have THICK skin cause people have been hating on her and our love for her for sooooo long.
Hi 👋 This is the second video of yours I’ve watched. The first was “My Tears Ricochet”. You weren’t a Taylor “fan”, but liked her lower register. So, I searched through your video posts to see if you’d reacted to this song yet. This is the second video of yours I’ve watched (scrolling through, you have reacted to some great artists on here, I’ll be here a while), I have to say… LOVE how your opinion has already changed about Tay! 🎉 I started listening to her in her original Speak Now era, not because she was the best singer I’d ever heard, but her song writing was (all her) amazing. Her story telling ability was magnetic. Then, I became a fan. Now, I can’t wait for her to put out new music! Reputation is one of my favorite albums and I can’t wait for the release of Rep Taylor’s Version. The vault tracks, please 🤤 She is a transformer though! Say something negative and she will come back and prove you wrong, every time. She works so hard! Her success has been fought for and earned! She does not give up on anything. There are not a lot of people like her, in the game. I’ve subscribed. You have a bunch of content on here and I love your vocals too 💜✌️✨💜
I love how excited you got when you realized she was going to belt 😂 I think you’ll love the eras tour version of this because the GROWL is growling 🙌🏼
Finally! I love this performance, it’s the most gospely song and she planned it that way. There is video of making it. TS has light poppy songs, more serious, and others where she just wants to tease… whatever your taste, you will find something you like
Ive been binging your taylor reactions, ten songs in this is the one that got me to subscribe! Cant wait for you to qatch the rock version of We are never getting back together next! Sorry about your grandmother 😢 ❤
The thing about Taylor is she is a whole range of moods. Definitely not one style at all. We all have our favorite record but most everyone can appreciate her being able to pull all types of music.
Netflix is losing the rights to stream The Reputation Stadium Tour at the end of the month; the tour as a whole is better than individual songs. She connects with the audience a lot in between, and does intros for the dancers and the band. Take the time to watch the show before it is gone, and someone has to remaster it to avoid copyright issues. The film even lists the truck drivers for the tour in the credits! (same company (Shomotion) she gave out bonuses to earlier this year, of 100K per driver). Her first tour films were mashed up songs from all over the place, stitched together. Starting with the 1989 tour she made the tour films in a stadium setting in just one city. So, 1989 is in Sydney, AU; Reputation is in the AT&T stadium in Arlington, TX; The Eras Tour was filmed in the new stadium (SOFI ? ) in LA.
watch the eras tour movie, new version of this live and way better improved on every aspect. went to her concert in July too after that performance i was ready to leave but that was just the 3rd set of the concert and i was like if she ended that concert there i am happy, the rest was just bonus really.. lol
The reason swifties aren’t bothered when you don’t like something is bc you are actually giving her music a try. I don’t like every Taylor song and some of my favorites of hers are some people’s least favorites. When you have a deep catalog like she has, that’s bound to happen. Not every song is going to be amazing to everyone. It’s the people who just dismiss her music without even giving it a chance that pisses us off
Keep in mind though, not all her songs are meant to have heavy production or base and with big notes. Some are meant to be more emotional with emphasis on lyricism and more toned down instrumentals. I think her being able to do both makes her an even better performer and artist.
Singer, it's very gospel, I hear that. Maybe not the subject, but the style, yep. Hey you sing this, I want to hear it! Have we made you into a Swifty? Oh bless your grandmother. Look at the song Marjorie from Evermore, which is about Taylor's grandmother who was an opera singer. Her team took vinyl of her grandmother and digitalized it to be featured in the song. I need a fresh hankie for that one, I end up sobbing into it every time.
I don't see any reason in getting all worked up when someone does not care for a song. Im a big swiftie and I dont even like all of her songs. Honestly Shake it off gives me a migraine lol. Anyone who says they like every single song she has put out is straight up lying. Everyone is entitled to their opinion without judgement.
I too am glad for your honest reactions, but there are a few Swifties that will get bent out of shape, especially on Getaway Car. Anyway, I looked through your videos and see that you haven't seen "I Did Something Bad", her performance at the AMA's is one of her greatest.
People recommending all of these live performances for other tours when ERAS TOUR JUST CAME OUT ON STREAMING. This song is >>> on the Eras Tour compared to Rep tour.
I saw her when she was 16 opening up for Faith Hill & Time McGraw and she was so awful so I really never gave her a chance until now and I am OBSESSED! He performance in the Reputation tour is so amazing I wish I would have seen it live.
I have been a Swiftie since the beginning. Getaway Car is a great song but did not get a video and she was sick when they filmed that movie. Plus, you really need to watch the actual concert footage not that fan one and start with the intro she does at the beginning to feel something about the song. If you don’t know what it is about, yes it is just another catchy song (one of my faves of hers but everybody likes what they like). You have every right to say... not for me. I did that with Champagne Problems... until I played it with... “okay, why is this such a big deal” then I felt it. Always say that Taylor lives in my head because her songs are about real stuff. So you don’t have to love every song... those are the “verging on stalker Swifties hating”! But like this, you are still reacting to TS! It is what you do. I do want you to listen to some of the older stuff that was not as edgy but could still cut like a knife! Who knows, you might be sitting around humming Getaway Car one day.... that’s when you realize TS is truly a “Mastermind” and your at the next concert jammin’😂 Request: Highway Don’t Care by Tim McGraw ft Taylor Swift and Keith Urban. I think her vocals are really good and the video is great. The live performance is too but the video adds so much to it!
Agree. No one thinks all her songs are amazing
I think Swifties have grown thicker skin over the years due to people hating on their love of Taylor’s music.
I've been a swiftie since '06 and I don't like every song and I don't expect others to either. Marjorie is such a beautiful song
@@crystalkadletc1944 It really is!
Marjorie is hands-down my favorite song of hers, the wordplay is powerful and it's so lovely!
Same! Bawled my eyes out every time I hear it cause certain parts remind me of my grandmother.
You say it could be turned into a gospel song, and while writing this she literally said she wanted it to sound like it was a gospel song!! Love thiss
Take me to Church Taylor

Reputation is by far her best album, she absolutely kills it
You covered her growl last week. I remember I watched it.
Negative reaction happens, Swifties "let me remind you," Taylor Swift "Don't Blame Me."😅

I too am glad for your honest reactions, but there are a few Swifties that will get bent out of shape, especially on Getaway Car. Anyway, I looked through your videos and see that you haven't seen "I Did Something Bad", her performance at the AMA's is one of her greatest.
Has he reacted to Vigilante Shit live?
you need to react to the rock version of We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together in 1989 Tour!!!
have you reacted to olivia rodrigo yet? i think you would love her latest tiny desk perfomance, love to hear your thoughts on that
reacts to Wildest dreams on 1989 world tour
❤
People recommending all of these live performances for other tours when ERAS TOUR JUST CAME OUT ON STREAMING. This song is >>> on the Eras Tour compared to Rep tour.
If you watch her making this song she specifically made it gospel
A month later and you’re also a SWIFTIE
I saw her when she was 16 opening up for Faith Hill & Time McGraw and she was so awful so I really never gave her a chance until now and I am OBSESSED! He performance in the Reputation tour is so amazing I wish I would have seen it live.
This is a fan-made video. The original from the tour is better so I hope you watch the actual Rep tour film at some point even if it's not a reaction
None of these songs were ever on the radio which is why I think people never thought more of her. They only got the bubble gum stuff on the radio
Who knows, you might be sitting around humming Getaway Car one day.... that’s when you realize TS is truly a “Mastermind” and your at the next concert jammin’😂
Request: Highway Don’t Care by Tim McGraw ft Taylor Swift and Keith Urban. I think her vocals are really good and the video is great. The live performance is too but the video adds so much to it!
You said that your favorite song is vigilante shit. It's All good I'm joking . llol
