- PART 2 | Today we are attempting a new challenge called the 'Controller Swap Challenge'. The goal is to beat as many levels in the Endless Challenge of your choosing, however depending on what game style you play, you must swap controllers!
SMB + SMB3 = NES controller
SMW = SNES controller
NSMBU + 3D World = N64 controller

I’ve never seen anyone hold a NES controller like that in my life.
I have only seen it from speedrunners. I can't imagine learning to play it like that, but it makes sense for the fast input of speed runs.

Does the claw technique actually help game play because it looks like you're holding the controller like a maniac 😐
There are a couple games that benefit from the claw grip imo. SMM is one of them for me.

I was watching this to keep mysemf bussy while i was waiting for the dragon balls to be available again in dragon ball z kakarot so i could do sub stories that required reviving past bosses lol, still this video was really fun though, i enjoy this series

Snes would make the levels a pushover both because how smooth the controllers are and how easy it is to use
It is crazy how we went from the excellently designed SNES controller to the abomination that was the N64 controller. Some of my favorite games of all time were N64, but that controller was made for extraterrestrials.

I use the “Claw grip” for any controller
the claw grip.... this is the way i play quarth.
I think it should be like this:
Smb1: nes controller
Smb3 SNES controller
Smw: n64 controller
Nsmbu: gamcube controller if that works( if not, joycons.)
3dw: pro controller
SMW is a SNES game though, sorta weird not to use a SNES controller on the only SNES theme. I’d switch SMB1 to joy con (since both that and SMB3 are NES, I’d pick the simple joy con for the first) and keep N64 for NSMB.

3d World and New Super Mario are to new to be on the N64 controller. Weren't those controllers made like 20 years ago?

claw grip? ... you should make or get an arcade table! i play all my games on that! been playing botw with it.. i use a lightgun to shoot my arrows lol

3d world should be joycons to represent wiimotes + nunchakus since new sup is using n64 controller. Just seems weird that 2 styles use n64 controller

@@richardaustin503 nah, he steered it too close to the lit bobombs and one near the bottom killed the mole it was on. Totally on him though, if he was paying attention to that it could’ve easily been avoided.

Edit: When he said another nut suit, I don't remember seeing one before that one. I think maybe this stream was the same as the last youtube video that included this controller swap.

the N64 controller is the greatest game controller of all time
Xbox 360 controller for me. N64 controller is miserable to go back to imo. Same with the dreamcast controller

Just as a bit of feedback, I have so say this video didn't have the most entertaining twist.
A challenge like this seems fun, but honestly it feels like just any other MM2 video.

So, why use an N64 controller for new soup and 3d world? Wouldn't a pro controller, or even a wiimote if those work, fit better?
Because they don't work with the Switch? Joy-Cons or a Switch Pro Controller would work for the Switch, but there aren't any official options for Wii U.
@@NuiYabuko even if it's not a wii pro controller, it's still a pro controller, right? The layout is more or less the same, no? I didn't know if a wii mote worked or not, but I knew there are pro controllers, which I'd say are better fits than the N64 one.
@@Rogeryoo It's probably just so he can use all the retro controllers. He already uses the Switch controllers all the time, makes sense to give the N64 controller a chance to shine

Is changing a controller that different between Nintendo consoles?
Yeah, they all feel totally different and your skill level tends to vary with them. N64 in particular is the most uncomfortable to play SMM2 with.
@@jeffmatrachisia3827 I'd have thought Nintendo would have gotten their act together and made controls that would feel familiar between platforms. I guess I was hoping too much in Nintendo's case.
