- Today we are attempting a new challenge called the 'Controller Swap Challenge'. The goal is to beat as many levels in the Endless Challenge of your choosing, however depending on what game style you play, you must swap controllers!
SMB + SMB3 = NES controller
SMW = SNES controller
NSMBU + 3D World = N64 controller

You can tell how hold a gamer is by the way they hold the controller. Dgr is definitely a millennial! 2 fingers on the nes buttons?! That’s crazy, you can do it all with one thumb!
That may be true, but I distinctly remember my mom and dad playing fingers on buttons as opposed to thumbs on. they were born in 68, 60 respectively.
im a miilennial and it hurts to see that kind of stuff.. i believe its an arcade habit, playing with 2 fingers instead of the thumb

Wait a minute… do other people use their index and middle finger for the NES controller? I’ve always used the tip of my thumb for B and the middle (not sure what to call it, joint?) of my thumb for A. His grip is so strange!
I was amazed as well. My first Nintendo was a Gameboy Advanced and i used it as you described.
I don't think i could use it like that, i'd be constantly dropping it. Thumbs all the way.
You're doing it right. As a kid, the only people I ever saw do it Dave's way were a few Genesis owners.
I haven't used one so I never thought about that…
If the buttons are sideways then you'd have to hold your thumb sideways……then it might also mean you also have to tilt the controller and that might throw off your brain with your other hand……

@@phosphorus4 that doesnt seem like much, you can see which controler you'd need while the map loads. you have 3 of them right there in front of you, you just pick up the right one and start playing ohhhh what a challenge

@@trimutts4275 You couldn’t use it on an original N64 since it’s wireless.
@@pearspeedruns there were a few wireless controllers back in 64 was a thing. Still if Nintendo has any that can work with a 64, is a win in my book. I'll look it up later.
@@trimutts4275 It's intended for the emulator on Switch Online so it's really just a reskinned Switch controller rather than truly an N64 controller.
