Enjoyed my visit to Capitol. Sorry I missed making the vlog this time. Of course it turns out I win more when you’re absent. Must be a coincidence? Looking forward to next time, always enjoy playing poker with you at Capitol.
It was good to see you and happy your trip was profitable. Even though we played at the same table, we really never mixed it up. Hope you get some camera time next visit.
Afternoon from the UK, just got back from golf and got your vlog through, i guess i saw it late, anyway , will enjoy watching you crush bro!! regards Fraser.
I would like to see a raise on the AQ off hand where you river a straight. It’s thin value but also you have the nut blocker on a paired board. He can put you on boats or a better flush if you raise. Sometimes you value own yourself but that’s part of the game.
I would play the two AA pairs differently. For the first one, I would raise at least fifteen times the big blind before the flop. That way, they won't come in with a waste card. At the second one. I would three bet to the original raiser. Here in Budapest, even such a big raise is often not enough. And they come with all kinds of low cards.
I think it all depends on the game and how many callers you are looking for. This game, super large raises would be folded to. If you’re in a game where they call those big raises, congrats
Happy Easter! I love that the vlog is just you playing the game and talking it out, no hype. Maybe you'd get more subs if you went on about the biggest pot and most foolish buy-in, but this is much better to watch. I notice that you gave yourself lower marks for "don't bluff strong ranges" again. Are you finding it a difficult discipline to maintain, or are you deciding on review that you made mistakes in-game? I don't see it in this episode, but I've agreed the last two weeks that you chose a wrong spot. 10:00 not sure if you considered it, but with three Broadway diamonds accounted for, most made flushes are baby flushes, making this a prime bluff spot. This gets even more lopsided when you consider which suited hands are likely to make the out of position pre-flop call. Only QJ, J9, and 98, maybe 97, are likely to play and also likely to look up your bluff. 96, 87, 86, 76, 64, 63, 43, 42, 23 are all likely to have made a speculative call and gotten there, but feel wobbly about facing a raise. I know you were thinking that your hand was value, which is, IMHO, a mistake. But even if I'm wrong, a hand you think is value should be raising for value. If you are worried about value- owning yourself, use a bluff sizing for value, in this case $180 ($130 more). The folds you get from cautious king hands are offset by the calls you get from two pairs who assume you'd bet smaller with a flush, in order to get called. This combo approach, choosing a play that works both as a bluff and a value, is the key to bigger wins. Not only do you pick up pots like this, but you train your opponents to pay off your big hands and make fewer speculative calls over time. I know speculative calls feel like value, but when they catch you once, it undoes several of those small pickups. Likewise, they get exasperated by your bullying and will start to put stacks in with speculative hands, which is much better than picking up $20 *if* they don't hit their mystery flop. Sorry to rant, but I hope it's food for thought.
Congrats, you won the longest comment medal!!🥇 i don’t always run into bluffing the strong range situation. I give the details away, but vlog 200 will be something special.

As always, very solid vlog! I like your attitude of poker sessions being 1 giant session. Happy Easter Doug!

I thought about it for a while, finally decided that his small sizing was looking for a raise. I came very close to shoving.

Most of them are not good players. They prefer to play for fun. That's why I win their money.@@dougmccuskerpoker

@@dougmccuskerpoker I will cherish this award I worked so hard for.
What’s the next level up at capital? No thoughts of playing up one level?
2-5 game, plays deep. Maybe soon.
Looks like a lot of your audience is busy on Easter 😢 They'll see you soon, I'm sure 😅
I’m ok being second place on Easter 🐣
