If the god of the bible had been portrayed as a king instead of a God , he would be remembered as the most evil, mass murdering, tyrannical dictator of all time! Christians give the bible god a free pass because, they say, he is god the creator. I don't see the difference whether man or god. If his actions were evil or immoral, as the bible states, then he'd be just as guilty of being evil as any human committing the same deeds.

Religion and discussions about religion are still not incongruous to the subject of politics. Keep up the modern times' enlightenment TAE! Cheers, DAVEDJ ~

Prophecy: a shopping list is a prophecy. I write 'milk" on the list, which magically appears in my fridge for my son. We prophesize constantly about so many things, it's not a magical thing (although it is to my dog and my cat). To find Uranus seemed like the ultimate prophecy with somebody mathematically using numbers/formulas to point a telescope to the right place and time to see it... magic to most of us, but definitely by a smart human being. Just because somebody wrote a list of steps to take and then arrived at a conclusion is not a supernatural prophecy. If you think Jesus fulfilled any prophecy, he like any other man read what he was supposed to do and figured out how and when to do it. Gr8! Peace ☮💜

John, if everything is designed, what exactly do you compare things to to show a difference between what is designed and what is not designed? If nothing exists that was not designed, then you cannot even make the comparison, and saying everything is designed is meaningless.
It would be exactly analogous to you saying "everything is made of pudding" and i say "no, this chair is made of wood" and you reply that "wood is made of pudding"...we cannot even have a meaningful discussion at that point.

Exactly. Instead he trusted his word to 12 illiterate guys who witnessed Jesus’ acts and words, none of whom bothered to figure out a way to record the supposed greatest story ever told. Then god put his precious word in the hands of more illiterate men who told stories for 30-50 years (the telephone game). After that god let anonymous writers write the Bible, then years later have more anonymous writers rewrite the Bible and then had more anonymous men to rewrite and edit it again.
The Bible says god promised to protect his word but that was a lie. How can anyone say he protected his word when he put his word in the hands on primitive, illiterate men?

    John: London, England:
The universe is a complexity creator and conservation thing. Since the "Big Bang" complexity has been moving from one dimension to the next. It all started with a soup of "stuff" which coalesced in simple elements, which then coalesced into heaver elements and built stars, which then (because of gravity I understand) coalesced into heavier elements and these coalesced into star stuff and there were some explosions of stars sending the new complexity into the simplicity of space. The processes continues (after maybe billions of years) on earth, some elements coalesced into very simple life. Life on earth went from single cell to multi cell creation of new attributes (eyes, ears touch and the like) which then some grouped together to create functioning, complex organisms which then evolved out of the ocean to land. Now we fly people across the skys and into space. Boy if that isn't a process that moves from simple to complex. The universe is creating (due to it's attributes) complexity that moves from one dimension to another as a part of the result of becoming in the first place. Maybe that's the reason for life, the universe created it. This is in part, is based on some of the ideas of Terrance McKenna that made sense to me after looking into it.

@topcat2069: kudos, nicely put. The history of our universe as we understand it in 2022. That's as succinct as one can put it - pure irreducible simplicity.
