That is actually a myth. An OBC bypass is not required when installing our lithium battery. It can be bypassed but is not required. The only time the OBC would need to be bypassed (or replaced), is if the OBC itself has failed. You could go ahead and do it now during the installation process to prevent it becoming a possible failure down the road, but it is not required.
I have a 2018 Onward. I has headlights and brake lights, but no aftermarket 12v accessories. There are 6 8-volt lead acid batteries in there now. Is there likely a 12v reducer already onboard? Where is this connection made? I have ordered a 48/105 bundle, including the 12v reducer, but I'm thinking I may not need that reducer. I'm not near to the cart, so I can't check. Thanks.
Great video. We were successful in our home installation!!
@@kellyhaupt3636 awesome! We greatly appreciate the business and any questions please reach out anytime :)
What size gauge did you use for the piggyback spade connector?
Slightly older models will require a mod to wiring to bypass the on board computer. Maybe you all should have put that in the video?

@bhd1506 you will need to use the converter in the bundle since you have lights.
@@ecobatterylithium Okay. Good to know I didn't waste any $$ on the converter. Where am I likely to find the connection for the lights now?
