His passion for coaching is beautiful to watch. He was the perfect centre midfielder especially for Liverpool & Spain. He did well at Real Madrid too but obviously they had so many superstars so his contribution wasn't talked about as much.

Does anyone know why he's speaking English here?
Because there might be some new players that haven't learnt german at a decent level yet, so it's more convenient to get to the players directly without any need of using a translator.
Alsonso is really good at speaking German. But the new players may be not, obviously. One cannot expect them to speak German from the start. So it makes sense to speak English.
But Alonso himself? He’s doing really well in German. His interviews are very fluent with little mistakes, albeit with some accent. But that’s fine. He’s easy to understand and fun to listen to.
@@chubbywombat7402 Wow! So Xabi Alonso is fluent in German? I assumed otherwise because I thought he didn't stay at Munich for as long as he did in Liverpool. Guess he picked up the language fast then.
@@IAMJEFFREY-cw9ns seems like it. He does his interviews and press conference fully in German. No translator. He has a Spanish accent like he does in English. Besides that it’s really fine. Impressive guy.
